Chapter 155 - Chapter 155: Simple and Honest Laguna

After boarding a gondola, Zane finally arrived smoothly in Ragunna under Phoebe's guidance. Walking through Ragunna's streets with the girl beside him, Zane felt like he had returned to those years when he did whatever he wanted.

As everyone knew, the people of Rinacita were simple and honest.

Especially now, with the coming Carnival Festival approaching, the Hidden Sea Monastery's security Sound Skeletons, the Crown Festival Envoys, could almost be seen throughout every street and alley in Ragunna. The city's overall security level had risen by an entire level.

Those Sound Skeletons normally stood there like solemn statues holding giant swords. But the moment they discovered suspicious people or Sound Skeletons, they would immediately move to capture them without hesitation.

Not even considering whether Sound Skeletons could feel pain, just the giant swords in their hands alone were not something ordinary humans could withstand, unless it was some large mechanical equipment...

Beep!

Bang!

A pitch-black car sped past. Along with the sharp sound of tires scraping against the ground, this ordinary passing Crown Festival Envoy was directly sent flying. It landed far away on the ground, unable to get back up.

Meanwhile, the vehicle responsible had already driven off through a cloud of smoke.

Zane stiffly turned his head and looked at Phoebe.

"Do people in Ragunna always drive this wildly?"

But thinking about it, it was pretty normal.

After all, the long-awaited Carnival Festival was finally returning. Getting a little excited was nothing strange.

Still, this was probably just an exception. It couldn't be that every person in Ragunna drove with the gas pedal welded down, right?

Look, the black cars behind them weren't speeding...

"The world is in my hands!"

'Holy crap! Ragunna mafia!'

Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat...

Zane had not expected to run into something this intense on his very first day in Ragunna. He immediately grabbed the confused Phoebe and hid behind a stone barrier.

This proved that Ragunna people did not only weld down their gas pedals.

They welded down the triggers too.

"Second Miss, those traitors are getting away."

"Then crush their car with bullets."

The screaming storm of bullets instantly swept across the entire road. The poor, weak, helpless Zane could only shiver as he tightly hugged the soft and fragrant little cake beside him... uh, he meant Phoebe.

Only after the convoy left did Zane stick his head out from behind cover. He looked around for a while, and after confirming there were no more vehicles coming, he finally let out a long sigh of relief.

But speaking of which, that girl's voice sounded kind of familiar...

Zane rubbed his chin, his brows tightly furrowed. He completely failed to notice that beside him, Phoebe was watching the direction the convoy had left with a deep helpless sigh.

Next time they met, she definitely had to properly lecture her.

"Come on, Zane. You probably haven't eaten yet. I'll take you to Margarita Restaurant for something to eat."

———

What happened here did not seem to cause much panic. It was as if everyone was already used to it. Only a few minutes later, pedestrians once again appeared on the road.

The long-awaited Carnival Festival was about to be held again. News of this had already spread throughout every corner of Ragunna.

In the past few days, many foreign tourists had appeared in the city. Even though it was not dinner time yet, Margarita Restaurant was still filled with diners who had come because of its reputation.

"Why put pineapple on pizza?!"

A muscular man finished the wheat drink in his hand in one gulp. He slammed the empty bottle hard onto the table and stood up while speaking.

As he staggered forward, he kicked over the pile of empty bottles beside his feet that had almost formed a small mountain.

The burly man at the next table froze for a moment after hearing that. He looked at the man walking toward him step by step, then looked at the Royal Pear Pizza in his hand, his brows furrowing.

"What goes on my pizza is my freedom. You don't get to decide."

Honeydew fruit wine could bring people into sweet dreams, but drinking too much could also cause chaos.

"By the Imperator, if you put that thing on pizza again, I swear I'll kick your ass with my boots!"

"Then you'd better drown together with your old-fashioned views in your Lord's radiance. People from Septimont only believe in fists!"

The argument grew more intense. Before long, the two started fighting, throwing punches and kicks at each other.

Maybe they were tired of repression. Maybe the sleepy afternoon needed some excitement to wake people up.

The people of Ragunna had never seen such a scene before, so they all joined in, "kindly" discussing whether Royal Pear Pizza should even exist.

For a moment, the restaurant looked like a stage play. As the ancients once praised, "Pizza and cake fly together, drinks share the same color as the endless sky."

Seafood jumped from plates onto passersby's faces. Imported drinks from Septimont rolled under pedestrians' feet and made them fall hard.

The surrounding crowd hurriedly dodged the chaos, but after running a few steps, they could not help stopping again and turning back to watch the battle from afar.

"Customers! Please stop, chirp! The plates are going to break, chirp! Please put down the tableware, it's dangerous, chirp!!"

The shop owner's tail fur had completely puffed up. Holding a pizza shovel, he jumped around anxiously but did not dare approach the center of the chaos.

The two men at the center clearly were not easy to deal with. One attacked viciously and without any pattern, obviously some mafia thug. The other was fierce and refused to give way at all, probably a gladiator from Septimont.

At that moment, a small figure rushed out from the crowd.

"Please calm down!"

The raised staff drew an elegant arc through the air. The golden bird descending with a whistling sound seemed to carry enormous force.

Yet when it landed on their heads, it was as light as a dragonfly touching water, gently spreading ripples outward.

The assassin and gladiator who had been fighting just a second ago instantly calmed down. Wearing peaceful smiles as if they had been baptized by holy light, they collapsed stiffly onto the ground.

The surroundings instantly fell silent. Even the raised plates quietly returned to the tables.

"Please don't worry, everyone. They're only asleep."

The small blonde priestess put away her staff and said seriously, "But according to the monastery's management rules, people who disturb public order must accept the proper punishment."

"The beauty of moderation is a gift granted to us by the Imperator. Because of this, food and honeydew taste even sweeter... I hope this small incident will not affect everyone's enjoyment of their time in Ragunna."

Standing under the sunlight, beneath the wide brim of her hat, Phoebe smiled gently and warmly.

At that moment, a fluffy doll squeezed through the stunned crowd and came to Phoebe's side.

"Bella, I'll leave it to you."

The doll nodded and effortlessly carried the two sleeping men on its shoulders as it headed toward the monastery.

Watching the doll leave, Phoebe turned and thanked the Glazed Blade Dancer helping maintain order.

"Thank you for helping me maintain order, Bella."

The Blade Dancer called Bella nodded, and the stained glass on her face reflected dazzling light.

Every public TD in Ragunna was her friend. To outsiders, every Sound Skeleton looked basically the same, but Phoebe could accurately call every single one of them by name.
