Chapter 1 - Introduction to titanic

The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner operated by the White Star Line that became the most famous shipwreck in history after sinking on its maiden voyage in April 1912. Built in Belfast, Ireland, it was designed to be the largest and most luxurious movable object ever created, representing the pinnacle of Edwardian engineering and the "Gilded Age" of travel.

At the time of its completion, the Titanic was the largest ship in the world.

Length: 882 feet 9 inches (approx. 269.1 meters), roughly the length of three to four city blocks.

Width (Beam): 92 feet 6 inches (approx. 28.2 meters).

Height: 175 feet (approx. 53.3 meters) from the keel to the top of its four funnels. Only three of these funnels were functional; the fourth was a "dummy" added for aesthetic symmetry and ventilation.

Weight: It had a gross register tonnage of 46,328 tons and displaced over 52,000 tons of water.

The Titanic was the second of three "Olympic-class" ocean liners—the others being the Olympic and the Britannic—conceived to prioritize massive scale and extreme comfort over speed.

The Builders: Construction began on March 31, 1909, at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast under the supervision of lead designer Thomas Andrews.

The Build: It took approximately three years and over 3 million rivets to complete the hull. The ship was launched on May 31, 1911, and underwent months of "fitting out" to install its opulent interiors.

Engineering Marvels: It featured 29 boilers, three massive propellers (the "triple-screw" system), and an electrical plant capable of producing more power than a standard city power station of that time.

Titanic was called the "Unsinkable ship", yet it sank on it's first journey but in this novel, that won't happen, the ship will actually survive.
