Chapter 3 - PART 3: The giant, shining moon never cares about the star

Every day after school, I'd remember the moments I used to run and laugh with my friends. Those days were light. I was light. Now, leaving school, I just felt tired.

Leaving with Selin was starting to annoy me. she'd send meaningless messages constantly; most of what she said felt empty. Often, I'd just leave her on "read." She didn't understand. Or she didn't want to.

Selin never stopped talking about Murat. She'd make unfunny jokes and expect me to laugh. When I didn't, she'd tell them even more. I, on the other hand, drew further away each time.

The way she touched Alihan was strange. Timid and hesitant, like a mother touching her baby, then pulling away instantly. Sometimes it was funny to me, but at the same time, it explained everything. Because now I knew:

The giant, shining moon never cares about the star.

The star thought the moon's light was meant for it.
