Chapter 2 - The Day The Monsters Began Crawling And The Awakening Part Two

Poor cecilia stirred, her small body aching. Slowly, her eyelids fluttered open.

The first thing she saw was darkness. Then shapes. Sharp, looming shapes. Monsters.

Their glowing eyes stared down at her. Teeth bared. Claws flexing.

She tried to scream, but no sound came out.

Panic gripped her chest. Her heart raced. She couldn't move, couldn't even cry out.

Then she realized—she wasn't alone.

One of the monsters stepped closer, its voice low and mocking.

"Well, well… awake at last," it said.

Cecilia's eyes widened in terror. Xavier… please… she thought, praying her brother would come in time.

But outside, Xavier was still searching, unaware that the danger had never been closer.

---

The monster leaned closer, its claws gleaming in the dim light.

It raised a sharp, pointed finger and pressed it gently—too gently—against Cecilia's forehead.

A strange warmth spread from the touch, crawling into her mind and chest. She felt weak… dizzy… as if all her energy was being drained away.

Her small hands clawed at the monster's arm, but it didn't budge.

"Let… me… go!" she tried to scream, but her voice was barely a whisper.

The monster's eyes glowed brighter, almost hungry, as it began to absorb her energy. A faint, sickly light seemed to flow from her body into the creature.

Cecilia's vision blurred. Her legs went limp. Fear gripped her heart like ice.

Somewhere deep inside, a tiny spark of hope flickered. Xavier… he'll come… he has to…But would it be in time?

---

The monster pulled back its finger from Cecilia's forehead. Her body slumped, limp, barely conscious. But the monster… had changed.

Its eyes glowed brighter. Its claws sharper. Its presence more terrifying than before. Energy pulsed through its body, a dark, unstoppable power now coursing within it.

It let out a low, guttural growl, almost as if it were savoring the feeling.

Then, with a cruel grin, it spoke to the other monsters around it.

"Go," it commanded. "Bring me more. More children. Their energy will make me stronger. Strong enough to take this world… and bend it to my will."

The other monsters scattered like shadows, slipping into the city, hunting indiscriminately.

Cecilia's faint cries went unheard. Her small body lay on the floor, drained of strength.

The world had just become a battlefield…

And this one monster was no longer just hunting—it was building an army, powered by the very children it sought to consume.

---

Back at their small apartment, Xavier's mother was finally home, exhausted from her long day of work.

She turned on the TV to catch up on the news, hoping for some sign that the chaos outside was under control.

Instead, her heart sank.

The screen was filled with reports of monsters attacking schools, streets, and neighborhoods across the city. Buildings were destroyed. People ran screaming. Children were among the victims.

Her hands trembled as she gripped the edge of the counter.

"Xavier… Cecilia…" she whispered, panic rising in her chest.

She fumbled for her phone, dialing Xavier's number. Each ring seemed to last forever.

"Please… be safe," she whispered again, tears forming in her eyes.

Her mind raced with fear. She knew her children were out there somewhere in the chaos. And for the first time, she felt powerless.

---

She waited, holding her breath. No answer.

She tried again, dialing Xavier's number over and over, but it went straight to voicemail every time.

"Xavier… Cecilia… pick up…" Her voice trembled, almost a whisper.

Panic clawed at her chest. She could feel her hands shaking, heart racing, and the fear that something had happened to her children gnawed at her like fire.

She sank into a chair, unable to look away from the news on the TV—images of destruction, chaos, and screaming children flashing across the screen.

Her mind raced. Where are they? Are they safe? There was nothing she could do from here.

And the silence from Xavier's phone… it was deafening.

---

Her eyes were glued to the TV, but something in the corner of the screen made her freeze.

A small, familiar shape on the floor… It was Cecilia's favorite toy. And there was a dark stain across it. Blood.

Her hands flew to her mouth. Her heart skipped a beat, then raced uncontrollably.

"No… no, no, no…" she whispered, her voice shaking. Tears sprang to her eyes as the horror sank in.

Her children… her babies… were in danger.

She fumbled for the phone again, but deep down, she knew—whatever was happening now… it was far worse than anything she could handle from home.

---

Xavier's legs ached, his lungs burned, but he didn't stop.

He still hadn't found Cecilia. Every classroom, every hallway, every corner—empty.

Then, something caught his eye. A shadow moving unnaturally fast. A figure carrying a small, limp body. Another child. Unconscious.

Xavier's heart pounded. He clenched his fists. No… not again. Not another one.

Slowly, carefully, he followed the monster. Staying in the shadows, ducking behind rubble and overturned furniture, moving as silently as possible.

It didn't notice him. The monster moved with purpose, as if it knew exactly where it was going.

Xavier's mind raced. They're taking them somewhere… somewhere big… I have to stop them. I have to save Cecilia.

Every step brought him closer to the unknown… and closer to the moment where he would have to face the monsters—and whatever darkness was holding his little sister.

---

By the time Xavier reached the clearing where the monsters had gathered, his blood ran cold. A horrifying sight greeted him.

One of the monsters stood over a child, its claws pressed against the girl's forehead, drawing energy from her. Light—pale, sickly light—flowed from her body into the creature.

And then… he saw her. Cecilia. She lay on the ground, still, pale, her small body limp.

Xavier froze for a moment, disbelief and terror colliding in his chest.

"No… Cecilia…" he whispered, voice breaking.

Rage flared inside him. Fear, anger, desperation—all mixed together into a burning fire that seemed to pulse in his veins. The monster didn't notice him yet.

But Xavier did not hesitate. His legs carried him forward without thought, and something deep inside him stirred—a power he didn't understand but felt as real as his own heartbeat.

It was as if the world itself recognized the moment.

---

Xavier charged forward, fueled by pure desperation.

The monsters lunged at him, claws slashing, teeth snapping. One bit into his arm, another raked across his shoulder, and pain exploded through his body.

He swung, dodged, punched—but no matter what he did, there were too many.

One of the monsters shoved him to the ground. Another pinned him down, their weight pressing against him, covering his body like a living wall.

For a moment, it seemed like it was over. Then… something inside him snapped.

A golden light erupted from his chest, blinding, pure, and fierce. The monsters shrieked, stumbling back as the light expanded, enveloping everything around him.

Xavier's eyes snapped open. Golden, glowing, burning with power unlike anything he had ever felt.

The monsters screamed and were thrown across the clearing as if invisible hands had hurled them away.

The energy pulsed around him, protective, powerful, alive. It wrapped around Cecilia, keeping her safe.

Xavier struggled to his knees, golden light still radiating from him.

He had awakened. He was no longer just a normal young man. He was… the chosen one.

---

Back at the HQ, the cat in the suit sat behind his desk, ears twitching as he monitored the city through the screens. Suddenly, his eyes narrowed.

A flicker of energy—something golden, pure, and overwhelming—flared across the city.

He tilted his head, tail flicking with interest.

"Hmm…" he muttered, adjusting his tiny glasses. "That's… God energy."

The cat's eyes widened slightly, the seriousness in his voice unmistakable.

"The chosen one… has awakened."

He tapped a paw against the desk, sending a signal to the team.

"Prepare yourselves. It looks like the big player has entered the game."

A low hum of tension filled the room as the agents straightened, realizing that everything was about to change.

The balance of power… had shifted.

---

Xavier's heart pounded, golden light still radiating from him.

The monsters lunged again, faster than before, claws aimed to tear him apart.

But he didn't flinch. A surge of power flowed through him, stronger than anything he had ever felt. His hand trembled—and then, a sword materialized in his grip.

It wasn't just any sword. It glowed with the same golden energy as his eyes, radiating warmth and power, humming like it was alive.

He swung it instinctively. The monsters that lunged at him slammed into an invisible force and were thrown back, shrieking.

Golden light followed every movement of the sword, cutting through the darkness like sunlight tearing through storm clouds.

Xavier gritted his teeth, feeling the power flow through his arms, his legs, his entire being.

He had never felt so alive. And he knew one thing for certain: No monster would take his sister. Not now. Not ever.

---

Xavier planted his feet firmly, golden sword glowing in his hands.

The monsters lunged again, claws flashing at super speed, but Xavier moved faster. Every strike of his sword sent waves of golden energy scattering them in all directions.

He slashed left and right, feeling the power inside him responding instinctively. Every movement was precise, every swing effortless, as if the sword itself knew what to do.

"Cecilia!" he shouted, spotting her lying limp on the ground.

The monsters guarding her hissed and lunged, but Xavier didn't hesitate. With a roar, he surged forward, his golden light exploding outward. The monsters were thrown back like ragdolls, some smashing into walls, others tumbling across the rubble-strewn floor.

He knelt beside his sister, the golden aura surrounding her, healing her as it pulsed. Cecilia's eyelids fluttered. Slowly, she opened her eyes, blinking in confusion.

"Xavier…?" she whispered weakly.

"I've got you," he said firmly, his voice steady despite the adrenaline racing through him. "I won't let anything happen to you."

The remaining monsters regrouped, circling him, but Xavier didn't falter. The sword in his hand glowed brighter, his eyes burning like molten gold.

For the first time, he wasn't just a frightened young man. He was something more—something chosen by the gods themselves.

And now… the monsters would learn just how powerful the chosen one could be.

---

The monsters hissed and lunged again, but Xavier didn't even flinch.

Golden energy surged through him, stronger than ever, flowing into the sword and radiating outward in waves. Every strike he made cut through the monsters like sunlight through darkness.

He leapt into the air, spinning, slashing, golden light trailing every movement. Monsters collided with the force of his aura and were sent flying in every direction, screaming as they crashed into walls and debris.

The ground trembled with the power he wielded. Golden energy pulsed from him, forming a protective barrier around Cecilia, keeping her safe.

"You won't touch her!" Xavier shouted, voice echoing with authority and power he had never felt before.

The monsters regrouped, bigger and faster this time, but as they approached, the golden aura flared even brighter. It pushed them back before they could strike, burning their dark forms with a radiant heat.

Xavier's eyes glowed brighter and brighter, golden light spilling from them like liquid fire. The sword hummed, resonating with the energy inside him.

Then, with a swift, decisive motion, he surged forward in a golden blur, slashing through the monsters in a single, unstoppable sweep.

When the dust and light cleared, the monsters lay defeated, scattered across the ruined clearing. Silence fell over the area, broken only by Cecilia's weak, trembling breaths.

Xavier knelt beside her, his sword still glowing, golden aura slowly fading.

"I've got you… always," he whispered, lifting her gently.

For the first time, the world seemed still, and in that moment, Xavier realized—he was no longer just a man. He was the chosen one.

---

Back at the HQ, the cat in the suit's ears twitched. His eyes narrowed as the monitors flickered with golden bursts across the city.

"That… that's him," the cat muttered, tail flicking sharply. "The chosen one has fully awakened."

The team of six agents exchanged stunned glances. "Is that… real?" one of the guys asked, voice low.

"Real enough," the cat replied, adjusting his tiny glasses. "That energy signature—it's God-level. And it's coming from somewhere in the city where monsters have been active. Whoever he is… he's the key to this whole situation."

The girl next to him nodded, her expression serious. "So we've been fighting monsters… while the real player just showed up?"

The cat's gaze sharpened. "Exactly. And it's time we see whether he can handle himself. Keep monitoring him. We don't interfere… yet. But if he falters, we move in."

A quiet tension filled the room as the agents leaned over the monitors, watching Xavier's golden aura ripple across the city.

They realized the stakes had changed.

The chosen one was awake—and whatever came next, the balance of power was shifting.
