PROLOGUE

"Life once had meaning, the sense that it held dear was non-existent."

A saying lost in the void. Recorded by time, yet forgotten by space.

Words of a person—a being—that had once spoken.

There was also this saying where before everything, there was nothing. It was a darkness that stretched forever with a timeless vacuum, echoing with a haunting tune as it yearned for a life to give. Like a mother who's desperate for a child, despite the news of infertility had not yet been enough.

Though, ironically enough, it has a way of appearing even in the darkest times.

Within the shadow of its womb, a small flickering light, smaller than the size of a fruit fly, from there a whisper leaks. Faint yet evident in this dead space. If there really is anything, a thought that blooms, it was all in hopes that this wouldn't fail like the last.

A simple wish…

Light rips through the flesh, shining light upon everything that it could touch. Stars scattered throughout, starting the arrival of planets, the energy that had been contained finally being freed from their all-embracing chains. A spill that seems to make itself as artistic as possible, dead or alive, the beauty shown within both sides of the disaster.

As they drift, seeking for a fixed placement to settle, from the light that had birthed them, it flickered once. This time, weak…weaker than before. For its last dance, it shattered into 3 pieces, forming into three cosmic beings—Universe, Space, Time—known thereafter as "The Triarchs of Primordial Ancestors".

Also known, "Unity of Existence".

The first cosmic beings recorded as far as the clock could ever tick backwards.

A force of nature that's untouchable no matter the cause. Beings that had weaved, forged and repaired life, essence and toxicity through the unstable continuum.

Though something is lacking. A net to hold it all.

As one of their creations—fate—would have it, Time and Space, inseparable in form and function, merged before scattering as they covered every inch of the distance, stretching as far as the eye can see. Quickly fading away as they blended in with the shadows, finally being given some sort of stability and yet something still was of absence.

Being left alone, the Universe found itself lost, desolated with no being to hold onto. The dead, eerie silence and the occasional howling of their genesis leaving the primordial being losing its sense of grip, the grasp that had brought it here in the first place.

Conclusion came. It needed a blanket to rest.

Therefore, it decided it shall be one.

That was how the myth goes; a small flash of light energy, dividing into separating beings, merging within the helpless void and so the last followed behind. That was simply what they've told the kids at the campfires and for bed time. Innocent enough, but life isn't that pure when it holds itself accountable.

By its last breath, created a genderless being of many voices, The Creator of Existence. Driven by an obsession of creation, they formed a lone planet, Aeztherra, alongside a being born of their left arm and leg named Velrithys—the first celestial goddess. Small as it was, it marked the beginning of something vast, a magnum opus so monstrous it would continue to haunt even in its eternal sleep.

Velrithys threaded her way through the upbringing of the planet, design of realms, the foundation of laws that she and her parent had created. Fueled by their daughter's success, the Creator created another goddess, born from their right arm and leg, calling her Saelyrah.

With Saelyrah's arrival, the Creator transferred the role to her, stripping Velrithys of her purpose and her identity. The loss left Velrithys disoriented, grasping for a place that no longer existed; understanding came later, quietly, and without mercy. She had never been meant to remain—she was a trial. A discarded design.

A temporary mechanism built only to test the creation of something better.

That something was Saelyrah.

Understanding arrived without comfort, she was a preliminary construct, useful only until something more suitable could be made. The idea of neglect, the presence of sin or negativity was yet to be found. A concept, a story as they have spoken, the laws of Solvariah would be the only ultimate tongue of guidance, purity and obedience. Their own actions were never taken into account.

That was the biggest mistake that's now long known to mankind.

Left to rot, Velrithys found herself being overwhelmed by unknown aggressive emotions, emotions that invaded her heart and mind like a slow intoxication. The urge to scream, to confront, to tear at herself just to prove she still existed.

The Creator and Saelyrah were left confused, to witness such strong and loud emotions from someone who they came to know. But Velrithys was not the only one; to feel, to discover these new feelings that seems to leave both parties quite disturbed and unheard of. Suppression of these…things, they proved to be difficult and inevitable to do so, it was an attempt to erase their cause and begin again.

It was not possible. Even powerful beings, like the Triarchs wouldn't be able to erase emotions, feelings; something that shaped their whole presence.

One of the first to be recorded in the History of Aeztherra, a…telling that would linger within. Velrithys' heart darkened with unspoken sorrow, the stars that are far away and the ones around them blink—unaware of the shadows and chaos that's quietly blooming below.

Down where her intensity simmers, a forbidden realm called Chthavrous builds itself.

A place where the sin is Existence.
