Chapter 4 - Armored Slaves

Xu Three-Eyes kept a cold expression as he cupped his hands toward the man with twin spears.

"I arrived late. I ask Senior Brother Jiang to open the formation and let the Strength Slaves enter."

Senior Brother Jiang took out a small flag and waved it. A gap opened in the formation.

The flying boat entered, and like dumplings dropped into boiling water, the figures inside were thrown down one by one.

These were the Strength Slaves.

They were a special product of Extreme Yin Island.

Disciples eliminated in previous trials were refined into puppets. Among them, the defective ones became Strength Slaves, used again in trials as a form of waste reuse.

In this trial, besides the killing between disciples in the first two days, the final day would include these Strength Slaves.

After releasing them, Xu Three-Eyes walked over and sat beside the woman surnamed Zhong on her soft artifact.

The four continued watching the island below.

Mu Fan sat openly on a branch.

Because of this, people passing by avoided him.

If he hid, others would think he was weak. Sitting openly made it seem like this was his territory.

"So this is the atmosphere of Extreme Yin Island…"

Mu Fan sighed inwardly.

"In the future, I cannot show weakness against those of the same level. If I retreat even slightly, others will press forward. But I must also stay alive. This balance is difficult."

He turned his head toward the center of the island.

There were loud movements.

He remembered that those who passed would be taken from the center.

After two days, the strong individuals had already gathered there.

"They have started fighting already… truly ruthless."

Mu Fan looked away.

According to his plan, he would move one hour before dawn and reach the center at the right time.

But soon, he could not remain calm. The disturbance from the center spread outward and reached his area.

"Friend!"

Mu Fan called out to a passing man.

"What happened?"

The man did not stop, speaking quickly, "The trial has escalated, the sect released humanoid monsters!"

Before Mu Fan could ask more, the man fled.

"Friend, help me!"

A sturdy youth carrying a beast bone weapon ran toward him.

Mu Fan looked and his pupils shrank.

Behind the youth, a black armored man over two meters tall chased him.

"Get lost!" Mu Fan shouted.

The youth laughed coldly and changed direction, avoiding the tree.

But the black armored man did not follow him. It charged straight toward Mu Fan.

Mu Fan immediately understood.

It targeted whoever was closest.

He jumped down from the tree and ran, carrying his stone.

In the distance, shadows flickered among the trees. There were many more of them.

Soon, Mu Fan caught up to the sturdy youth.

The youth had just knocked someone down and looked back warily.

Mu Fan's speed was not slower than his.

The youth continued running.

Mu Fan glanced at the fallen person. His leg bone was exposed, clearly broken.

He understood.

The youth had left him behind as bait.

"Save…"

Mu Fan ignored him and kept running.

After some distance, he heard a roar behind him and turned.

That person had been torn in half.

At that moment, Mu Fan stepped into soft mud. His leg sank down to his calf.

"This is not natural… a technique!"

His eyes sharpened as he pulled his leg out. A strong wind came from behind.

The black armored man crashed toward him.

Mu Fan rolled to the side, barely dodging.

The armored man turned quickly and punched again.

"This thing is not slow."

"Gold Rock Technique."

He used double the necessary Qi, strengthening both the stone and his body.

Then he rushed forward and swung with full force.

Clang!

The stone collided with the armored fist.

Both shook.

The armored man stepped back.

Mu Fan leaned back slightly, then pushed forward again.

While the armored man was unstable, Mu Fan struck its head.

Clang!

The armored man fell.

Mu Fan continued striking again and again until its head was half crushed.

"So it is a puppet… not very intelligent."

Mu Fan breathed heavily, listening carefully.

He was alert for the person who had used the mud technique.

No movement.

Looking at the corpse in the distance, he guessed the spell caster had died.

Without hesitation, Mu Fan ran again.

After a few steps, he returned briefly and took the breastplate from the armored man.

While running, he saw groups, lone fighters, and people abandoning others to survive.

Mu Fan held the stone in one hand and the breastplate as a shield in the other.

Seeing the armor, others did not provoke him.

At the edge of the island, no one came within three meters of him.

This was the sandy shore.

Only three black armored men had reached this area.

"We cannot escape! There are only three of them, and we have over thirty people. Attack together!"

Someone shouted.

"Alright!"

"Attack!"

Many agreed.

But no one stepped forward.

Instead, they all stepped back.

Mu Fan felt speechless.

Standing still, he ended up at the very front.

"Everyone knows how to hide behind others… but none of them are skilled at it."

He glanced around and saw the sturdy youth also at the front.

The youth laughed.

"Skinny, Old Dao, and this new friend, let us attack together!"

Mu Fan nodded.

The others also agreed.

The remaining people lowered their heads and stayed silent.

The black armored men approached slowly, forming a loose arc.

Their heavy steps left deep marks in the sand.

"Go!"

The sturdy youth charged first.

Mu Fan followed.

When he was within ten meters, the armored man charged.

At three meters, Mu Fan leaped to the side.

The armored man adjusted and punched.

Mu Fan ducked and moved behind it.

The armored man swept its arm.

Mu Fan blocked with the shield and retreated.

Using the force as momentum, he turned and ran into the forest.

He had no intention of risking his life for strangers.
