Year 2890.
The Barukenia Corporation issued a breathtaking announcement to the world:
"Do you still believe that time travel is only possible in stories andbooks? Well, not anymore.
We have finally achieved it."
During a high-stakes excavation near the planet's core, the company had discovered a mysterious stone pulsating with pure, extraordinary energy. Through rigorous testing, the stone's strange vibrations revealed an unbelievable capability: The control of time.
Because of its life-altering potential, Dr. Harry Newman, the lead scientist of the project, gave it a fitting name: The Life Core. Dr. Newman had high hopes for the stone, believing its power could save countless lives across the globe.
But nothing went according to plan.
[Inside the Laboratory]
"Good morning, Professor Newman. How are you feeling today?" Jones, a young researcher, asked.
"Hello, Jones. I'm feeling great, absolutely top-notch," Harry replied with a smile.
"You don't look it, Professor. Don't tell me you stayed up until dawn again reviewing the project data?"
"Well... this is an important project, Jones," Harry chuckled. "Every second counts."
"Even so, you shouldn't risk your health, Professor. That's my advice," Jones said kindly. "By the way, how is the analysis going?"
"We are close, Jones. Very close. We are finally approaching the testing phase of the device."
"That's excellent news, Professor!"
Suddenly, a deafening BOOM rocked the entire facility. The floor shook violently.
"What... what was that sound?!" Jones shouted, nearly losing his balance.
The emergency sirens began to blare throughout the lab.
[ATTENTION ALL PERSONNEL: PLEASE TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. SECURITY FORCES ARE ENGAGING INTRUDERS.]
"Jones! Get to the shelter, quickly!" Harry commanded.
"But Professor, what about you?"
"Their target is likely the stone. I'm going to secure the Core and follow you to the shelter. Now, go!"
"But—"
"Go, Jones! That's an order!"
Professor Newman dashed toward the machine to retrieve the Life Core. Just as he reached the containment unit, he came face-to-face with the intruders.
"Good, it's still in its place," one of the masked criminals muttered.
"Where do you think you're going in such a hurry, Professor?"
Seeing the armed men, Harry grabbed the Core and ran as fast as his legs could carry him. But as he sprinted through the corridor, a sharp pain pierced his back. A bullet had struck him. He collapsed to the ground, gasping for air.
Blood pooled beneath him. Harry clutched the stone tightly in his hands, trembling with pain and exhaustion. He looked at the Core one last time.
Suddenly, the stone began to glow with a blinding light.
The radiance intensified, pulsating in sync with Harry's weakening heartbeat. In an instant, the stone began to merge with his body, seeping into his very being.
A flash of brilliant light engulfed the entire corridor. When the light finally faded and the smoke cleared,
Professor Harry Newman was no longer there. He had vanished into the folds of time
