Riley's POV
I step out of the steaming shower and wrap a towel around myself, heading straight for the walk-in closet where I used to keep my belongings. The familiar space feels foreign now after all these years away. I'm not expecting much to still be here, maybe just empty hangers and dust, but I need something decent to wear for this doctor's appointment.
The thought of seeing a doctor makes my stomach clench with anxiety. I really don't want to go, but Caleb's words echo in my mind. He's right about one thing - I have no idea how much more my body can endure. And I absolutely cannot abandon my children, especially not now when we might have to run again.
