Caleb's POV
Stepping outside, I spot Mason in his wolf form. His brown fur gleams under the fading light, white markings on his ears and tail tip making him easily recognizable. He approaches with deliberate slowness, stopping directly in front of me. The sadness radiating from him is palpable even in this form.
'Is she okay?' His mental voice carries a weight that makes my chest tighten. I can sense his frustration that Riley refuses to see any of us.
'She's hurting, but physically she seems stable. She wouldn't speak to me though.' I respond honestly, gesturing toward my house. 'Come on, let's go inside.'
He bounds toward the entrance and disappears through the doorway. By the time I make it inside, he's already emerged from my bedroom wearing a borrowed set of my clothes.
The anguish etched across his features is unmistakable, but then something darker takes over. Rage transforms his expression completely.
