Chapter 2 - The Truth That Could Break Him

The music faded into the background as I stepped closer, heart hammering.

Alejandro didn't notice me at first. Too busy laughing with Camila, too busy looking like she had always been the center of his world.

I wanted to scream. To shout that it was me—I who had saved him. But my voice caught in my throat.

Sofia nudged me gently. "Go. Say something."

I swallowed hard. My legs moved before my brain even caught up. And there he was, close enough that I could see the faint line of a scar across his hand from years ago. My hands had pressed against it first, not hers.

"Alejandro…" My voice trembled.

He turned, and his eyes met mine. Confusion flashed across his face, quickly replaced by… recognition?

I hadn't spoken to him in years, yet there was something in the way he looked at me, like he was trying to remember a piece of his past.

"Isabella?" His voice was soft, cautious.

"Yes. It's me." My throat was tight, words spilling out faster than I meant. "You… you think Camila saved you that night. But it was me. I saved you."

Alejandro's eyes widened. A flicker of something—shock? guilt?—crossed his face.

Camila, standing beside him, tensed. "What are you talking about?" she asked, voice sharp.

"I'm talking about the truth," I said, stepping closer. "The night you almost died… it wasn't her. It was me. I was there. I saved your life, Alejandro."

The room seemed to go still. Alejandro stared at me, then at Camila, then back at me.

"You… what?" His words were barely more than a whisper.

"I saved you. And all these years… you've loved her, believed she was your savior… when it should have been me."

Silence.

Camila's confident façade faltered for the first time. Alejandro's gaze didn't leave mine. For the first time in years, I saw hesitation.

Something had shifted.

Something that could never be erased.

I took a deep breath, forcing myself to hold my ground. "I'm done hiding, Alejandro. The truth is out. And now… it's your choice what you do with it."

He looked at me like he was seeing me for the first time. And I realized… the game had changed.

Tonight, nothing would ever be the same again.
