Chapter 2 - § The Man From Beyond

It's his sixteenth birthday.

A boy with short white hair clutched his head in bed. He has a terrified look on his face.

With a memory that just flashed in his head, he didn't know how to react. But one thing was certain, the anger and rage he felt was definitely his.

And this new memory is the reason for this. He if he could, he would tear it out. But it was his. The man who was shattered in this memory, it was none other than himself.

From a look of terror, he had rage and anger. He just didn't know who to direct it to.

He put his feet down and was about to stand up when a voice echoed from behind him.

"So, the time has come. I don't know why you chose this age. But I have to say, it looks as though your world is just about to be turned upside-down." A man spoke with a bright smile.

Long black hair, smooth skin and blue eyes that simmered like moons in the dead of a dark sky. He wore a black coat and exuded a calm aura around him.

The boy jumped from the bed, staggered and hit the table on the side. The water jar fell but before it crashed on the floor, the man caught it gracefully as easy as possible.

He held the boy by the shoulder and helped him sit down on the bed.

"Who.... who are you? And what exactly are you doing in my room?" The boy questioned with a threatening and accusing tone.

The man walked to a chair, sat down and crossed his legs.

"Klein El-Vauxhall, I should be honoured to meet you. But I'll warn you. Don't ever question me like that. You'll regret it." The man sounded even more threatening as he said the last part.

The rage in the young boy simmered and a little fear rose within him.

This man spoke as though he knows him but he could swear he has never met this man ever in his life.

"Who... are you?" Klein became wary of him.

"I am the writer. I am the traveller, God and I also go by countless other names as well as titles. But I like the name given at birth. Call me Ryuga Xicor." The man introduced himself with a smile.

For a moment, Klein was overcome by a feeling of deja-vu. That name sounded familiar. But he still couldn't say he knew this man.

"What do you want?" Klein calmed himself, masking his confusion.

"Sixteen years ago, I made a deal with you. Right now, I have come to see if you still want to continue with it. Or if, you had a change of heart." Ryuga said to him.

"I am only sixteen. I have never met you. So there's no way we made any sort of deal."

"Our encounters are sealed in a memory in your subconsciousness. I am sure you would like them to be freed. You just gained a part of it. At least, part of what made me take interest in you." Ryuga said suggesting.

Klein was suspicious of the man. But there was no way he was a God. He must have read his mind to know of his memories. He's even speaking gibberish.

After all, they haven't met. And he's spewing nonsense of meeting even before he was born. The teenage boy felt like breaking into laughter.

This Ryuga man must be a stupid conman.

"Klein, how would you feel if your entire family was wiped out? I mean the entire Vauxhall family killed. How would you feel about that?" Ryuga asked him as if mocking.

Klein froze in his seat. That question caught him off guard.

Instead of answering, he felt rage boil from the pit of his stomach. He charged to Ryuga and held him by the collars.

He tried to pick him up but Ryuga's eyes glimmered and for an instant, Klein felt his body become so heavy he fell to his knees.

Ryuga was still amused, with a smile on his face. Klein had a lot of mixed emotions boiling and swelling in him.

But he couldn't pick which to explore. But that was all irrelevant. This man was something a bit too terrifying.

If what he introduced himself as was true, then it was in his best interest to behave.

"I would seek justice for them. I wouldn't rest until the killers are behind bars and paying for their crimes." Klein finally answered Ryuga's question.

"That is the most interesting thing about you. I suppose you should regain your memory." Ryuga sighed and looked at Klein with eyes filled with pity.

Klein stood up and Ryuga offered him a hand. On contact, the memories came flooding.

At a certain point in his memories, they stopped flowing. He and Ryuga stood on a crystal surface that stretched on endlessly.

"You lived a righteous life. But you see my dear friend, you trusted blindly. Even the most righteous become a problem for corruption and greed. As such, they should.be removed. Carved out by the roots of needed." Ryuga said and looked down.

His words confused Klein. The memories he had seen well great. He was a hero, a revered man with loyal allies and a good reputation.

But more importantly, it appears he saved this very world which is now filled with peace. He couldn't be more proud.

"I see all of this. But, what about that woman? What killed her? Was i just imagining her death since I loved her that much?" He asked about Jeanette, the woman who dies a gruesome death in his firat memory.

She appeared to be living just fine to this point. And he was about to have a baby with her. Everything looked perfect to him.

Ryuga dipped his fingers into the surface as if in water.

"Smash it." He gestured to Klein.

Klein was confused, but he punched the surface. It cracked and shattered. The shards disappeared and this part of the memory came to him.
