Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Peace Forever

The storm finally calmed down. Harrison and the mastermind behind the scenes got the punishment they deserved. Lucian completely controlled the family business and managed it in perfect order. The whole family was convinced by him, and no one dared to question his ability anymore. The once luxurious and cold mansion was now filled with the atmosphere of life and warmth, becoming a real home.

Ella completely got rid of the shadow of the past. Her stepmother and stepsister, because of what they had done and their involvement in Harrison's incident, did not dare to trouble her anymore, completely disappearing from her life. Her father's company was back on track, life gradually improved, and he often came to see her. The relationship between father and daughter became more and more harmonious. Ella finally had a complete family affection.

Lucian fulfilled all his promises, spoiling Ella into the happiest person in the world. He was no longer the man who pretended to be blind and forbearing. Instead, he openly favored and cared for her. Every morning, he woke up with her and made breakfast for her himself. In his spare time, he took her hand for a walk in the garden, listening to her talk about small things around her. At night, he accompanied her to read and chat in the living room, giving all his tenderness and patience to her.

He remembered all her preferences, paid attention to all her little emotions. When she occasionally thought of the grievances of the past, he held her tightly and comforted her, telling her that with him, everything was in the past. Ella also gradually shed the forbearance and cowardice of the past, becoming cheerful and smiling, her eyes full of light, living as she had yearned for—free, happy, cherished.

Ethan watched the happy appearance of the two, sincerely happy for them. The once cold and wary master finally had his weakness and the warmest harbor because of Ella. All servants sincerely respected this gentle and kind young lady. The whole mansion was filled with a warm and harmonious atmosphere.

One quiet night, the two sat on the balcony of the bedroom, looking at the sky full of stars. The night wind was soft, and the moonlight was gentle. Lucian gently hugged Ella from behind, his chin resting on the top of her hair, holding a delicate diamond ring in his hand, slowly putting it on her fingertip.

"This marriage was a contract and a promise at first. But now, it's the luckiest thing in my life." Lucian's voice was gentle, full of deep affection. "Ella, I gave you a contract wedding before. Now I want to give you a real promise. For the rest of my life, every year, every spring, summer, autumn and winter, I will accompany you, protect you for a lifetime of stability, and love you forever."

Ella looked at the diamond ring on her fingertip, then at the man in front of her who was full of her. Tears fell down, but a happy smile rose on the corner of her mouth. She nodded gently, stood on tiptoe, and kissed his lips. "I do, Lucian. In this life, the next life, I will be with you."

Once, she was in the dark, suffering all kinds of hardships, thinking she would never have happiness in this life. Until she met Lucian—the man who pretended to be blind but protected her silently, pulled her out of the dark, and gave her all the tenderness and love in the world.

The so-called blind husband had never been unable to see. He had focused all his eyes on her. The so-called contractual marriage had never been a transaction. It was a long-planned deep love. For the rest of their lives, there were no secrets, no dangers, only the two of them staying together, three meals a day, four seasons a year, peace year after year, joy year after year, turning ordinary days into the happiest appearance.
