[The New Era of the Blue Planet]
To understand the world of Garfield Greyfield, one must first understand the catastrophic rebirth of humanity and the enigmatic saviors who descended from the stars.
The current societal structure is not merely a product of evolution, but a desperate reconstruction born from the ashes of a dying world.
[The Arrival and the Great Restructuring]
The history of modern Earth, now commonly referred to as the Blue Planet, began at the precipice of extinction.
Humanity was on the brink of total collapse due to a global nuclear conflict that had poisoned the atmosphere and scarred the land. It was during this darkest hour that a race of beings known as the Dark Elves arrived.
Contrary to the grim expectations of the survivors, the Dark Elves did not come to conquer. Instead, they acted as architects of a new civilization.
They utilized their advanced technology and mastery of Magic to rehabilitate the environment and restructure human society. In doing so, they moved humanity away from the path of self-destruction and toward a future defined by supernatural potential.
[The Sovereignty of the Dark Elves]
Having proven their overwhelming might and benevolence, the Dark Elves were granted a status that transcends traditional governance. On the Blue Planet today, they are treated with a reverence higher than royalty.
They are the undisputed allies and mentors of humanity, though their influence is absolute.
It was the Dark Elves who introduced the concept of Transversing: the idea that humanity must take resources and power from other worlds to ensure its own longevity.
They are the sole creators and controllers of the Gates, the interdimensional rifts that allow travel between realms. Without the Dark Elves, humanity would be trapped on a single world; with them, the universe has become a harvest ground.
[The Transverser System]
The term Transverser refers to those rare individuals who have successfully undergone an "Awakening" to obtain a combat-oriented class.
These individuals are the vanguard of the Blue Planet, tasked with entering Gates to conquer new territories and secure resources.
The Combat Rarity: Among the human population, awakening a true combat class is an incredibly rare event. Most who awaken find themselves with utility or support roles.
Military Integration: Transversers do not work alone. Standard Military Soldiers are dispatched alongside them, serving as tactical support and maintaining a presence in conquered zones.
The Hierarchy of Classes: Tanks and Fighters: These are the most sought-after classes. Their ability to hold a frontline and engage in sustained warfare makes them the backbone of any Transverser unit.
Mages: Possessing the rarest and most destructive potential, Mages are considered the most valuable assets humanity possesses.
Assassin Classes: Despite being combatants, those with Assassin-like classes (including Ninjas or other Assassin classes) are often looked down upon.
Strategically, the goal of a Transverser is to kill as many enemies as possible to secure territory. Assassins, who specialize in single-target lethality and stealth, are seen as less efficient for mass conquest.
For an Assassin-class Transverser to succeed, they almost always require a wealthy benefactor willing to fund their specialized growth.
[The Social Divide: Non-Combatants and Failures]
The prestige of a citizen on the Blue Planet is determined almost entirely by their Awakening results.
Non-Combatant Classes: Those who awaken in utility classes (such as the Fisherman or Blacksmith roles) live lives that are significantly less exuberant than their combatant counterparts.
They form the labor force that keeps society running but lack the fame and wealth of the Transversers.
The Unawakened: The most unfortunate souls are those who fail to awaken at all. With no magical potential or specialized skills, these individuals have very few options.
Most are forced to join the military as "fodder", becoming expendable units sent into dangerous zones to support Transversers, often with a very low survival rate.
