Chapter 4 - The Energy Awakening

The light around Ayan did not just glow—it began to breathe.

It pulsed like a living force, expanding and contracting as if it had a heartbeat of its own. The air around him distorted, bending slightly, as though reality itself was reacting to his presence. The glowing lines beneath the ground started rising, connecting to his feet like streams of energy flowing into him.

The Dark Sentinels stopped completely.

For the first time, their red eyes flickered with uncertainty.

"Unknown energy signature increasing…" the leader said in a broken mechanical tone.

Ayan stood still, his eyes half-closed, feeling something he had never experienced before. It was not just power—it was awareness. He could feel the energy around him, the movement of the air, the vibration of the ground, even the faint pulses coming from the Sentinels.

Everything was connected.

And somehow…

He was at the center of it.

Rudra slowly stepped back, whispering, "Okay… this is not normal anymore."

The girl, still standing ahead, looked at Ayan with shock and realization. "This is impossible… a human cannot sync with Nexora energy this fast…"

Ayan opened his eyes.

They were glowing.

Not just light—but deep, radiant energy, like a star burning inside them.

Without thinking, he raised his hand.

The energy responded instantly.

A wave of force exploded outward—not like before, not uncontrolled—but precise. Sharp. Directed.

It struck the nearest Sentinel and tore through its armor like it was nothing. The machine shattered into pieces, its red light fading instantly.

Silence followed.

Then chaos.

"All units attack!" the leader commanded.

The remaining Sentinels charged at once.

But this time—

Ayan didn't panic.

He moved.

Faster than before.

He stepped aside as one attacked, his body reacting naturally. Another came from behind—he turned, releasing a focused burst of energy that knocked it back. Sparks flew, metal cracked, and the ground shook with each impact.

He wasn't just fighting.

He was adapting.

Learning in real time.

Rudra watched in disbelief. "Bro just became a superhero in five minutes…"

But suddenly—

A sharp pain hit Ayan's head.

His vision blurred.

The energy around him flickered violently.

The girl reacted instantly. "Stop! You are overloading!"

But it was too late.

The Sentinels saw the weakness.

The leader raised its arm and fired a powerful red beam straight at Ayan.

Ayan tried to block it—but his energy collapsed for a second.

The beam hit.

A loud explosion shook the area.

"Ayan!" Rudra shouted.

Dust and light filled the air.

For a moment, nothing was visible.

Then slowly—

A blue shield appeared.

The girl stood in front of Ayan, holding the attack back with all her strength. Her glowing symbols burned brighter, and her face showed strain.

"You cannot control it yet," she said through gritted teeth. "Power without balance will destroy you."

With a sudden push, she deflected the attack and turned toward Ayan.

"Listen to me," she said quickly. "Do not fight with force. Feel the flow. Let the energy move through you, not from you."

Ayan, still weak, tried to focus.

The Sentinels prepared another attack.

"No time…" Rudra said nervously.

The girl looked at both of them. "We cannot win this fight now. We escape."

Rudra nodded instantly. "Yes, best plan so far!"

She raised her hand and created a circular field of blue energy around them. Symbols rotated rapidly, forming a glowing pattern.

"Stay close!" she commanded.

The Sentinels fired together.

But just before the attacks hit—

The ground beneath them vanished.

A portal of blue light opened, swallowing them instantly.

The attacks hit empty space.

Silence returned.

Far away, inside a hidden zone of Nexora, the three of them reappeared, falling onto a smooth metallic surface.

Rudra rolled over, breathing fast. "Okay… I officially hate portals now."

Ayan slowly sat up, still feeling the energy inside him—but now it was calmer.

Controlled.

The girl stood up and looked at him carefully.

"You are not normal," she said.

Ayan gave a tired smile. "Yeah… I figured that out."

She paused for a moment, then spoke clearly.

"My name is Zyra. I am a guardian of Nexora."

She pointed at him.

"And you… are the key to its survival."

Ayan's expression turned serious.

"Then tell me everything," he said.

Zyra looked at the glowing horizon.

"Because now… the war has already begun."
