Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Young Esdeath

"Though they are unknown Danger Beasts, they don't seem to have toxins or anything. They can definitely serve as rations for a while... Caesar, are you willing to eat them?"

Processing the carcasses of the dead Danger Beasts with extremely efficient methods, Hysilens quickly prepared these chunks of meat using the sharp blade in her hand.

"As long as you make it, I will eat it."

Kerridwen didn't spare a single glance at the Danger Beasts. Instead, she stared intently in a certain direction while responding directly to Hysilens's words.

Although she was the noble Empress of Okhema, she also knew the disadvantage of their current situation. Aside from the Daughter of the Sea, who was one with her, she had no other subordinates to use.

In other words, the current Kerridwen was equivalent to a commander without an army, so what was there to be picky about?

Whether as the transmigrator 'Nameless' or as the role-player 'Kerridwen', she had seen her share of hardship.

On the contrary, precisely because they had suffered, they were indifferent to such trivial matters.

As the saying goes, one who achieves great things does not fret over trifles. If she wanted to build a great career, Kerridwen inevitably had to find a way to get through this unfavorable period.

"I understand." Hysilens nodded slightly, then looked toward where Caesar was gazing. "It seems a little fish is peeking at us in secret. Do I need to deal with it?"

"No, your current task is to prepare our food for the coming days. As for that peeping fellow... I will handle them personally!"

Though an Empress, Kerridwen could still empathize with her subordinates, especially one with such a special relationship as Hysilens.

Plus, she had some thoughts of her own... She already had a good idea of the Daughter of the Sea's strength, but what about herself?

As the Demigod of Law, although Kerridwen also possessed extraordinary combat ability, there was clearly a gap between her and top-tier warriors.

Even so, Kerridwen wanted to test to what extent she could currently perform and whether she could defeat some peeping thief.

"Feel honored; not everyone gets to experience my personal campaign."

Though small in stature and height, Kerridwen didn't lose an ounce of her majesty as an Empress.

Just by narrowing her eyes, a terrifying pressure swept out, even causing the snowy plains within a hundred meters to tremble, as if a despair-inducing avalanche would occur in the next second.

Under such pressure, the thief hiding in the snow seemed to lose their presence entirely, vanishing into the snowy plains.

"Oh? Quite clever hiding methods. It seems you're no simple thief!"

Kerridwen raised an eyebrow slightly, a look of surprise appearing on her face. Unless someone lived in the snow or was specifically trained, it was hard to possess such concealment skills.

"However, fooling ordinary people is one thing, but it won't pass muster before me!"

The opponent seemed to have lost their life signature, but in Kerridwen's eyes, their life had never been extinguished.

The blue-and-white Empress lightly waved the scepter in her hand, as if commanding a brave and battle-hardened army, or perhaps like a casual move in a chess game... It was this very action that made every hair on the blue figure in the snow stand on end.

Danger!

Death is coming!

The instincts honed from years of hunting made that blue figure subconsciously jump upward, unexpectedly dodging the fatal blow and completely exposing her before the eyes of Kerridwen and Hysilens.

However, just as this blue figure was prepared to flee at maximum speed, what happened before her made her stop in her tracks, because the two women in the distance... were actually stunned in place?

"It's actually you?" x2

Under the template of one soul and two bodies, the two bodies of Kerridwen and Hysilens could completely act independently without interfering with each other.

But in extreme situations or when certain surprises occurred, the two bodies would still perform the same actions and say the exact same words.

And now, a surprise had occurred!

Kerridwen had originally thought it was some Northern Tribes members lurking here to ambush her. After all, in the world of akame ga kill, such a vast snowy plain could only be the North.

In such a wide snowy region, there were countless ethnic tribes. No one knew what skills they possessed or if they were hostile toward outsiders.

Kerridwen's initial thought was to completely eliminate this fellow who was spying on her. After all, she had no idea if the person was a scout. If she let them go, would it attract more enemies?

As the Demigod of Law and the Demigod of the Ocean, Kerridwen and Hysilens naturally didn't fear those Northern Tribes. But if they were dragged down by these people in the snowy plains, they wouldn't be able to complete the system's mission.

Empress Kerridwen, she intended to establish a powerful Northern Territory Empire!

But even as an Empress, after seeing the petite intruder before her, the expression on her face couldn't help but change slightly.

Because this attacker, she recognized her!

Or rather, anyone who had seen 'akame ga kill' couldn't possibly not recognize the person before her, even if she wasn't very old yet.

Simply because her name was Esdeath!

In the plot, she was the Empire's youngest and strongest General, even revered by the audience as the Queen.

Of course, a "Queen" in a different sense.

However, none of this mattered to the current Esdeath. In Cerydra's eyes, the Esdeath before her was still young; she wasn't wearing the figure-hugging military uniform from the original work, but rather the attire of the Northern Tribes.

What did this mean?

Esdeath had not yet joined the corrupt Empire; this was a time before the original plot began.

In that case, there was plenty of room to maneuver!

So...

"I can't let you run away!"

Though she had harbored killing intent toward the intruder just seconds ago, excitement now bloomed on Cerydra's face.

As a future monarch, how could she not wish to recruit a subordinate like Esdeath?

And now was indeed the best time to recruit her!

She waved her scepter again, and blue energy once more gathered into chess pieces. This time, however, she didn't launch a direct attack like before. Instead, they formed a visible high wall, blocking Esdeath's path of retreat.

Seeing this, a look of resolve appeared on Esdeath's face.

The young girl pulled a dagger from her waist, completely abandoning the idea of retreating and focusing all her energy on the offensive.

She understood that the opponent had already locked onto her. Running away was meaningless; there was only one thing left to do...

Fight to the death!

In the blink of an eye, the two girls clashed in a simple bout of close-quarters combat. However, compared to the relaxed Kerridwen, Esdeath appeared to be struggling immensely. After all, she didn't have the power of the Ice Teigu yet; how could she deal with a Demigod like Cerydra?

Even if she did, it would still be anyone's guess who would emerge victorious!

While the two girls were locked in combat, Hysilens, having finished processing the food, began to admire their fighting prowess. However...

"Caesar... doesn't seem to be as tall as the young Esdeath?"
