Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

"Luna, Luna, wake up..."

My eyes slowly let themselves see as I gradually opened them. I was in a familiar room, and a familiar voice jerked me back to reality.

"Are you still asleep? It's past 10! AND IS THAT SPIT IN YOUR MOUTH? Someone must have been daydreaming," said Zion, my obnoxious younger brother.

"Breakfast is served, so go freshen up, weirdo," he added as he threw a towel at me and left.

I sat on the bed in my room, thinking about the nightmare I had just had. It felt so strange, so real—for a second, I thought it was my reality. I'd had similar dreams before, but none of them felt like this. I let out a short prayer, hoping it would stay just a dream.

"I better stop watching fantasy movies," I thought to myself as I grabbed my towel and went to freshen up.

After freshening up, I went to the kitchen to get some water but stumbled upon a new face. His silver eyes pierced me, and his scent felt different—unique and definitely unfamiliar. I wouldn't have forgotten meeting someone like him. And I was right.

"Who are you?" I found myself asking.

But he stood still, like he was lost in space. He tried to speak but couldn't find the words, then grabbed the water I was holding and drank it in a hurry, almost choking.

"Calm down," I said, patting his back.

"I'm sorry," he said as soon as he found his voice.

"I'm Alex, Zion's friend. He invited me for breakfast. I guess you're his sister? Nice meeting you," he added with a breaking voice before leaving hurriedly with my water.

I tried to process what had just happened while getting another glass of water when something strange occurred. It felt almost like a trance—everyone was in it: myself, Mom, Dad, Zion, even Alex in our dining room. Dad said he was taking a trip, and then I felt a touch—it was my mom.

"What are you doing? Are you skipping breakfast?" she asked with concern.

"No, I only came to get water," I reassured her. We went together to the dining room where everyone was sitting.

"Hi, Dad," I said.

"My princess," Dad replied, giving me a side hug.

"Have you seen my friend? He's a new student and he's cool," Zion cut in with a mischievous smile as he pulled Alex closer.

"I have a friend, and I'm not lonely like you," he added mischievously.

"What are you talking about? I have Sarah," I added.

"Yeah, another weirdo," Zion chuckled.

"Stop the mischief, Zion Miller, and eat your food," Mom instructed, and Zion obeyed without hesitation.

"Don't be so harsh on him," my dad said slowly with a smile.

"I'm going for a trip—it's a business trip. So Zion, you have to be a good boy," he added as Zion grunted.

This made me feel strange, almost like déjà vu. I dropped the food I was eating. I'd seen this before—in the kitchen, Dad said he was taking a trip. It was just like this. Then I looked around, and to my greatest surprise, we all sat down in the same positions I had seen before.

"This is impossible," I whispered to myself.

"Is everything okay?" my dad asked as he touched my forehead.

And it happened again—the trance. Only this time, it was far more brutal. In the scene, my dad's car got hit by a trailer, and it fell deep into the ocean. Glass shattered, piercing his heart; blood filled the car. It felt real. So f*cking real. My dad slowly accepted the cold hands of death.

It was a terrible sight—and worse, it might actually happen. Tears filled my face as I tried to snap back to reality but couldn't. The trance of my dad dying kept showing its ugly face. It was almost like whatever was causing this didn't want me out of it.

Nooo.
