Jay: Our main girl. She's from London, a bit spoiled but not a brat, and is thrown into a new world in the Philippines. She has a twin brother, Jare.
Jare: Jay's twin brother. He's the smarter, more serious one. He has a secret crush on Mia.
Mia: Full name Mark Mia Watson. She's Jay's best friend. She's sweet, a little clueless sometimes, and has no idea that Jare likes her. She's Keifer's younger sister.
Keifer: The strict but respected Class President of Section E. He's all boys, serious, and has a hidden softer side. He is Mia's older brother.
Dave: Part of the friend group. He's funny, always hungry, and loves snacks.
Ben: Another friend. He's artsy and is always taking photos or filming things.
Sarah: The "glamorous" friend. She loves makeup and can be a brat, but she's fiercely loyal to her friends.
Percy: Jay and Jare's older, incredibly vain brother. He's obsessed with his own looks and provides comic relief but there's a mystery surrounding his past in the Philippines.
The Plot:
It's a normal, rainy morning in London. Jay is trying to sleep through her alarm when her mom (Mama Reycee) yells for her to get up. At breakfast, Jay's family is chaos as usual. Her older brother Percy spends the whole time admiring himself in a spoon and declaring that being this beautiful is "exhausting for everyone else."
Just as Jay and Jare are about to leave for school, their parents stop them. "The principal called," their dad says. "He wants to see you and your friends immediately."
The squad (Jay, Jare, Sarah, Dave, Ben, and Bella) meets up, all confused. Did they do something wrong? They walk into the principal's office, trying to look innocent.
But instead of getting in trouble, the principal, Ms. Smith, drops a bombshell: they've been selected for a Student Exchange Program. For the rest of the school year, they'll be studying at HVIS in the Philippines.
Jay's heart does a flip. The Philippines? That's where her family is from! But her parents have always been weird about going back.
Later that night, Jay and Jare tell their parents. Their mom and dad exchange a strange, worried look—the kind that means they're hiding something. But after a little convincing (and Jay's famous "puppy-dog eyes"), they agree.
The Twist (That Mia Doesn't Know):
While Jay is packing, she messages her friends in the "Little Six" group chat. But she has a secret plan. Mia (who is in the Philippines) is in the chat too. Jay types:
ME: OMG guys, can you believe we're going to the Philippines for the exchange program?! So excited! 😱✈️
Mia replies right away:
MIA: Wait, WHAT?! YOU'RE COMING HERE?! TO THE PHILIPPINES?! Why didn't anyone tell me?! 😱😱😱
The squad starts typing, but Jay quickly sends another message:
ME: LOL jk Mia! We're not coming. Just dreaming! Wouldn't that be crazy though? 😂
MIA: Ugh, Jay! You almost gave me a heart attack! Don't do that to me! 😤
Jay puts her phone down and smirks. The surprise is working perfectly. Mia has no idea that in one week, Jay will be walking into her classroom in the Philippines.
But Jay can't shake the feeling that her parents are hiding something. And why did her brother Percy, who used to live in the Philippines, get so quiet when he heard the news?
