◇Introduction to the power system
Soul Force is the energy that originates from the human soul, the essence of a person's identity, emotions, memories, and will. Every human is born with latent Soul Force, a dormant energy that can awaken under the right conditions, usually in early to mid-teens. Once awakened, Soul Force manifests in unique ways according to an individual's nature, forming branches, and can be developed and refined through training, experience, and emotional growth.
◇Branches of Soul force
Physical Branch – Enhances strength, speed, durability, and reflexes using soul energy. Users can push their bodies beyond natural limits.
Mental Branch – Focuses on intelligence, strategy, perception, and mind-based abilities like telepathy or illusion.
Emotional Branch – Manipulates emotions in oneself or others, such as instilling fear, courage, or joy.
Healing Branch (Aether) – Uses Soul Force to heal injuries, stabilize souls, or manipulate life energy.
Manifestation/Construct Branch – Creates physical constructs, weapons, or barriers from Soul force
Abyssal Branch (Rare/High-Level) – Harnesses intense, dangerous energy with high risk, often tied to personal trauma or deep emotional extremes.Users with this branch have a chance of being corrupted and becoming soul eaters.Only those who truly accept themselves regardless of everything can use it properly.
N.B.: Each user can have a primary branch and possibly minor branches, shaping the way their Soul Force interacts with the world.
◇Progression System
Soul Force grows in stages as the user becomes more skilled and attuned to their own soul. Progression stages are:
Awakening – The first conscious use of Soul Force; abilities are raw and unstable.
Novice – Basic control over the primary branch; limited application in combat or daily life.
Adept – Stronger control, better efficiency, minor mastery of secondary branches.
Expert – High proficiency, strategic application, and ability to combine multiple branches effectively.
Master – Near-complete control over primary and secondary branches; can perform advanced techniques and influence weaker users.
Abyssal – Extreamly rare and dangerous mastery; immense power but high risk of instability or corruption.
◇Soul Force Rankings
Users are ranked based on strength, skill, and mastery:
Initiate – Beginner level; recently awakened.
Disciple – Developing skills; capable of basic combat and utility with soul force.
Veteran – Experienced, proficient in multiple techniques, capable of independent missions.
Elite – Highly skilled; recognized for leadership, innovation, and effectiveness.
Legendary – Exceptional users; few exist, often capable of feats beyond ordinary comprehension.
Abyssal – Top-tier users who have tapped into the extreme potential of their Soul Force, often risking themselves in the process.
◇Aura Evolution
As a user grows in Soul Force mastery, their aura evolves visibly:
Faint Glow – Awakening; barely noticeable.
Colored Aura – Early development; aura color often reflects primary branch.
Radiant Aura – Novice to Adept; aura becomes brighter and more defined.
Intense Aura – Expert to Master; aura may influence the environment or be felt by others.
Abyssal Aura – Rare; aura becomes overwhelming, potentially dark, chaotic, or majestic, showing immense power and personal risk.
◇Soul Force Backlashes
Backlashes occur when a user misuses, overextends, or loses control of their Soul Force. They are the system's way of reflecting the connection between a person and their soul, enforcing limits and consequences.
◇Types of Backlash
◇Physical Backlash
Symptoms: Pain, internal injuries, fatigue, broken bones, or collapse.
Cause: Overextension of the Physical or Manifestation branch.
Example: A fighter pushes themselves too far, causing muscles and bones to fail mid-battle.
◇Emotional Backlash
Symptoms: Panic, uncontrollable emotions, emotional exhaustion, or fainting.
Cause: Overuse of the Emotional branch or unstable mental state.
Example: A user tries to force fear into multiple opponents and ends up overwhelmed by their own negative energy.
◇Mental Backlash
Symptoms: Confusion, memory lapses, illusions, loss of focus, or migraines.
Cause: Misuse of the Mental branch or attempting multiple high-level mind techniques simultaneously.
Example: A telepath accidentally traps themselves in a feedback loop of thoughts they can't control.Example: A telepath accidentally traps themselves in a feedback loop of thoughts they can't control.
◇Spiritual / Soul Backlash
Symptoms: Soul fragmentation, memory loss, personality changes, temporary or permanent corruption.
Cause: Extreme overuse, Abyssal energy, or pushing the limits of awakening.
Example: A user channels too much Abyssal Soul Force and temporarily loses control of their body or consciousness
◇Soul Eaters
Soul Eaters are entities that survive by consuming Soul Energy, the essence of life and identity.
Primary Type (Natural Predators) – Born in the Abyss, a distorted realm of raw Soul Energy. They are instinct-driven, evolving to hunt and consume energy efficiently.
Secondary Type (Corrupted Humans – Rare) – A human who overuses Soul Force or succumbs to Abyssal energy may lose their identity, transforming into a Soul Eater. These cases are extremely rare and often misunderstood.
Soul Eaters are feared worldwide, but not all humans encounter them directly. They represent both natural danger and moral ambiguity, as humans could theoretically become them.
Soul Eaters cannot cross normally; they enter through Soul Breaches, unstable tears in reality
◇Types of Soul Eaters
Lurkers
Description: Small and weak, often numerous.
Behavior: Hunt unawakened or low-level users; stealthy and quick.
Danger Level: Low individually, moderate in groups.
Hunters
Description: Medium-sized and intelligent.
Behavior: Track awakened users strategically, often ambushing their targets.
Danger Level: Moderate to high; capable of planning attacks.
Devourers
Description: Large, powerful, and dominant.
Behavior: Feed on multiple souls, often lead smaller Soul Eaters.
Danger Level: High; destructive and difficult to stop.
Echoes
Description: Formed from fragmented or corrupted souls.
Behavior: Mimic voices, appearances, or memories; use psychological attacks.
Danger Level: High; manipulative and deceptive.
Abyssals
Description: Rare, incredibly powerful, and reality-warping.These are the abyssal branch users who's personalities are corrupted hence making them soul eaters.Unlike other secondary soul eaters, these ones maintain their human appearance.
Behavior: Extremely powerful, distort surroundings, manipulate Soul Force.
Danger Level: Extremely high; almost unstoppable and unpredictable.
◇ Soul Breaches
A soul breach is an unstable tear in reality that connects the human world to the Abyss, the realm where Soul Eaters originate. It acts as a portal, allowing Soul Eaters to enter the world. Breaches are not completely random; they tend to appear where Soul Energy is concentrated or where intense emotions occur, such as in cities, battlefields, academies, or areas of tragedy.
◇Types of Soul Breaches
Minor Breach
Description: Small, short-lived portal.
Soul Eaters Released: Lurkers
Threat Level: Low; manageable by few users.
Standard Breach
Description: Medium-sized, moderately unstable.
Soul Eaters Released: Hunters
Threat Level: Moderate; requires trained Soul Force users.
Major Breach
Description: Large, unstable portal; can last hours or days.
Soul Eaters Released: Devourers (and accompanying smaller types)
Threat Level: High; significant destruction possible.
Abyssal Breach
Description: Extremely rare, highly unstable, warps reality.
Soul Eaters Released: Abyssals (sometimes accompanied by Echoes or Devourers)
Threat Level: Extreme; catastrophic if uncontrolled.
