Chapter 1 - The girl in room 13

Chapter 1: The New Hostel

Anika stood in front of the old hostel building, her suitcase in hand.

The place looked… strange.

The walls were cracked, the paint was Chapter 2: The Second Bed

Anika froze.

Her whole body went cold.

Slowly… she turned her head.Anika froze.

Her whole body went cold.

Slowly… she turned her head.

No one.

The room was empty.

Her heart pounded loudly in her chest.

"This is just my imagination…" she whispered to herself.

But deep down, she knew—

It wasn't.

She quickly switched on the light.

The room looked normal again.

Two beds.

Two cupboards.

One mirror.

Nothing unusual.

Trying to calm herself, Anika stood up and walked toward the second bed.

The one that was "unused."

Her hands trembled as she touched it.

Cold.

Ice cold.

As if someone had just been lying there.

She pulled her hand back immediately.

"No… no, this is not normal…"

Suddenly—

Knock.

Anika jumped.

Someone was at the door.

"Who is it?" she asked nervously.

"It's me, Priya. Your neighbor."

Anika quickly opened the door.

A girl stood there, looking a bit worried.

"You're in Room 13, right?" Priya asked softly.

Anika nodded. "Yes…"

Priya glanced inside the room, then quickly looked away.

"You shouldn't stay here."

Anika's heart skipped a beat. "Why?"

Priya hesitated. Then she whispered—

"Because… the last girl who stayed here…"

"She what?" Anika asked.

Priya's voice shook.

"She didn't leave."

A cold silence filled the air.

"What do you mean?" Anika asked, her voice barely audible.

Priya looked straight into her eyes and said—

"She died in that room."

Anika stepped back.

"N-No… that's not possible…"

Priya leaned closer.

"They say… she still sleeps in that bed."

At that exact moment—

creak…

The second bed moved again.

Both girls turned slowly.

The bedsheet… was sinking.

As if someone invisible had just sat down.

Priya grabbed Anika's hand.

"I told you… she didn't leave."

And then—

The mirror on the wall cracked.

And a faint voice echoed in the room—

"Don't take… my place…"

Chapter 3:

The Mirror Secret

The cracked mirror made a sharp sound.

Tik… tik… tik…

As if something inside it was trying to come out.

Anika and Priya stood frozen.

"Let's leave this room," Priya whispered urgently.

Anika nodded quickly.

They rushed toward the door—

But it wouldn't open.

Anika pulled harder. "It's stuck!"

"No… it's locked," Priya said, her voice trembling.

"But I didn't lock it!"

The room suddenly felt colder.

The lights flickered.

On… off… on… off…

Then—

Everything went dark.

A soft sound echoed in the room.

Tap… tap… tap…

Like bare feet walking slowly on the floor.

Anika held Priya's hand tightly.

"Do you hear that?" she whispered.

Priya nodded, too scared to speak.

The sound came closer.

Tap… tap… tap…

Right behind them.

Then it stopped.

Silence.

And suddenly—

The mirror lit up.

A faint glow came from inside it.

Both girls slowly turned.

What they saw made their blood run cold.

In the mirror—

There was a girl standing behind them.

Long hair covering her face.

Wearing a white dress.

But when they turned around—

No one was there.

Anika's voice shook. "She's… in the mirror…"

The girl in the mirror slowly lifted her head.

Her eyes were dark.

Empty.

And her lips moved—

"Leave… or stay forever…"

Priya screamed. "We have to break the mirror!"

Anika grabbed a chair with shaking hands.

"Are you sure?!"

"We don't have a choice!"

Anika took a deep breath and threw the chair at the mirror—

CRASH!

The mirror shattered.

The lights came back.

The door suddenly unlocked.

Everything was normal again.

No cold.

No sound.

No presence.

Both girls stood there, breathing heavily.

"It's over…" Anika whispered.

Priya didn't reply.

She was staring at the floor.

"Anika…" she said slowly.

"What?"

"Look at the pieces of the mirror…"

Anika looked down.

Her heart stopped.

In every broken piece—

The same girl was still there.

Watching.

Smiling.Chapter 4: She Wants a Body

Anika's hands started shaking.

Every broken piece of the mirror showed the same girl.

Smiling.

Watching.

Waiting.

"This… this isn't over," Priya whispered.

Suddenly—

One of the mirror pieces moved.

On its own.

Scratch…

It slowly slid across the floor toward Anika.

Both girls stepped back in fear.

Then another piece moved.

And another.

As if they were alive.

The air grew colder again.

The lights dimmed.

And that voice returned—

Soft… broken… but angry.

"You broke my mirror…"

Anika covered her ears. "Stop it! Please stop!"

"Now… I need something else…"

Priya's grip tightened on Anika's arm. "She's getting stronger…"

"I need… a body…"

The temperature dropped suddenly.

Their breaths became visible in the air.

Then—

Anika felt something cold touch her hand.

She looked down.

A pale, invisible grip was holding her wrist.

Pulling her.

Toward the second bed.

"Priya! Help me!" Anika screamed.

Priya tried to pull her back, but it felt like something much stronger was dragging Anika away.

Slowly…

Anika's body was forced onto the second bed.

The same bed.

The dead girl's bed.

Anika struggled, crying, shaking—

"No! Let me go!"

The bedsheet wrapped slightly around her arms… like it was holding her down.

Priya looked around desperately.

"What do I do?! What do I do?!"

Then she remembered something.

"The warden! She knows something!"

Priya ran toward the door.

But before leaving, she turned back.

"Don't let her take you!" she shouted.

As soon as Priya left—

The door slammed shut.

BANG!

Anika was alone.

Pinned to the bed.

The air became heavy.

And slowly…

A shape began to form above her.

A girl.

Long hair falling over her face.

Her hollow eyes staring directly into Anika's soul.

Closer…

Closer…

And then she whispered—

"Give me your life…"

Anika screamed—

Chapter 5: The Truth of Room 13

Anika's scream echoed through the corridor.

The shadow above her leaned closer… closer…

"Give me your life…"

Suddenly—

BANG!

The door burst open.

Priya rushed in with the warden.

"Stop this!" the warden shouted.

She threw something at the bed—a small pouch.

As soon as it touched Anika, the invisible force disappeared.

The shadow vanished.

Anika gasped and sat up, shaking.

"What… what was that?!" she cried.

The warden's face was pale.

"It's her… she's angry again…"

"Who is she?!" Anika demanded.

The room went silent.

Then the warden spoke slowly—

"Her name was Meera."

Anika and Priya listened, terrified.

"She was a student here… just like you," the warden continued.

"She lived in this room. Quiet girl… always alone."

"One night… something changed."

Priya whispered, "What happened?"

The warden's voice dropped—

"She became obsessed… with living forever."

Anika frowned. "Living forever?"

"She believed… if she could trap her soul inside a mirror… she would never die."

Both girls stared in shock.

"So she performed a ritual," the warden said.

"The mirror in this room… was part of it."

"But something went wrong."

The air grew heavy again.

"She didn't just trap her soul…"

"She got stuck."

Anika's voice trembled. "And now… she wants to get out?"

The warden nodded slowly.

"Yes."

"And she needs a body to do that."

Anika's blood ran cold.

Priya whispered, "That's why she said… she needs a body…"

The warden looked directly at Anika.

"You slept on her bed."

"She has chosen you."

Silence.

Heavy.

Terrifying.

"No…" Anika shook her head. "No, I won't let that happen!"

The warden took a deep breath.

"There is only one way to stop her."

"What?" both girls asked together.

The warden pointed at the broken mirror pieces.

"We must destroy the last piece… the one holding her soul."

Anika looked around nervously. "Which one?"

The room suddenly went silent.

Too silent.

Then—

All the mirror pieces started vibrating.

Tik… tik… tik…

And one piece slowly lifted into the air.

Floating.

Glowing faintly.

The voice returned—

Angrier than before—

"You… will not… escape…"

The floating piece shot toward Anika at full speed—

To be continued…
