She paused by a large window, watching the world outside. People walked freely, cars passed, life moved on…

"You'll wear a hole in the floor."
She didn't turn.
"I'd rather wear the floor than accept this," she replied coldly.
Ferhat stood behind her, hands in his pockets. "Acceptance isn't required."
"Good. Because you'll never get it."
A faint flicker crossed his face—something between irritation and curiosity.
"You're stubborn."
"And you're a criminal."
Silence.

"You're not wrong."
Asli blinked, caught off guard.
