Chapter 5: The Collision of Four Hearts

Haeyoung's Apartment – 06:00 AM.

The morning mist clings to the windows of her luxury high-rise. HAEYOUNG moves through her routine with surgical precision. She applies a bold, matte lip—her war paint—and checks her reflection. She looks invincible. But for a fleeting second, she glances at the photo of her and Jae-won on the wall, her expression softening before she masks it with the "Captain Haeyoung" persona.

Incheon Airport – Pilots' Briefing Room.

Haeyoung has just finished changing into her crisp white uniform. The gold bars on her shoulders catch the light. JAE-WON knocks and enters, already suited up.

Jae-won: "Captain Hong. The Authority just called. All senior captains are required to meet the creative team from Sky-Line. We're giving them a briefing on pilot-passenger coordination and technical aesthetics."

Haeyoung: (Sighing as she adjusts her cap) "Again? How can pilots help 'office people' with their drawings? It's a waste of flight prep time."

Jae-won: "Come on, Haeyoung. You know how this works. We tell them how the cockpit integrates with the cabin experience. Just play along. It's only an hour."

Haeyoung: "Fine. But if they ask me what 'vibe' a cloud has, I'm leaving."

The Main Hall – 10:00 AM.

The airport's grand hall is bustling. JUNGHAN, HYUNA, and their team are set up with tablets and files.

Hyuna is a shadow of her usual self. Her eyes are slightly puffy, and she hasn't said a word all morning. She's staring at her tablet, but the screen is blank. Junghan, however, is a man possessed. He's buried in his files, his mind half-stuck in the sketch he made at 4:00 AM. He doesn't even notice the heavy silence from the girl sitting three feet away from him.

Then, the heavy glass doors swing open. A group of pilots walks in, their footsteps echoing with authority.

Junghan doesn't look up at first—not until the clicking of heels stops directly in front of their table. He lifts his gaze, and his world tilts. It's her. The girl from the tarmac. The girl from his sketchbook. In person, she is even more radiant—sharp, professional, and impossibly beautiful.

His eyes light up with a spark the team has never seen. He is staring, unblinking, like a man seeing a miracle.

The Director: "Director Kim, allow me to introduce our senior flight crew. This is Captain Seo Jae-won and Captain Hong Haeyoung."

They begin the formal handshakes. When it's Haeyoung's turn, she extends her hand, her expression cool and expectant. Junghan takes it, but he doesn't just shake it. He holds it. He's lost in her eyes, searching for the face he spent all night drawing.

Haeyoung: (Raising an eyebrow, her voice dripping with ice) "Are we going to shake hands, or are you planning to hold it all day, Mr...?"

Sung-min: (Nudging Junghan's arm frantically) "Senior! The handshake!"

Junghan snaps out of it, his grip tightening for a split second before he recovers. He doesn't look embarrassed; he looks captivated.

Junghan: (Smiling, a genuine, warm look) "My apologies. I'm Director Junghan Kim. It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Captain Haeyoung Hong. You have a very... beautiful name."

Haeyoung looks at her hand, then back at him, her gaze skeptical. She withdraws her hand slowly.

Meanwhile, HYUNA is watching the entire exchange. She sees the way Junghan's eyes are fixed on Haeyoung—a look of pure, instant fascination he has never once given her in twenty years. A hot, bitter flame of jealousy flares in her chest, followed by a crushing sense of inferiority. Of course he looks at her like that, Hyuna thinks. Look at her. She's a queen. And I'm just a 'sibling.'

Jae-won: "Hello! We meet again."

Hyuna blinks, looking up to see JAE-WON standing in front of her with a wide, friendly smile.

Jae-won: "You're the file girl from yesterday, right? I see you're looking up today. Good."

Hyuna: (Managed a small, genuine smile) "Ah... yes. Hello, Pilot-nim. I'm Hyuna Park."

Jae-won: "I'm Seo Jae-won. Nice to officially meet you, Hyuna-ssi."

They shake hands. Jae-won's smile is like a warm blanket, and for a moment, Hyuna forgets the sting of Junghan's rejection.

Across the small circle, HAEYOUNG is watching them. Her sharp eyes track the way Jae-won smiles at this "innocent" girl, and her own expression tightens.

And JUNGHAN? He's still watching Haeyoung. He notices her gaze shift to Jae-won—not with the "crush" look he's used to seeing from Hyuna, but with a deep, possessive familiarity that makes his chest tighten with an unfamiliar curiosity.
