Chapter 2 - choice

Pov : *I give the third crescent to the lady*

Your move is truly unexpected. Under the deadly sharp gaze, you actually step forward calmly. One by one, you hand the three scythes towards Lady Dimitrescu, the handle first—a gesture of surrender as well as a very brave trust in the face of death.

Lady Dimitrescu was stunned for a moment. He picked up the three weapons with his long fingers, then threw them on the floor until they made a loud metal clatter.

"It's very interesting..." Lady Dimitrescu lowered her head, her beautiful yet pale face now only inches away from yours. The intense, intoxicating scent of rose perfume envelops your senses. "You have the courage to challenge me, then just give up your weapon?"

Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela could only be glued. They were ready to tear you apart, but seeing their mother's reaction, they remained on standby, waiting for orders.

"You think that by returning my children's toys, I'm going to pass out?" Lady Dimitrescu laughed lowly, a voice that shook the entire room. She stroked your cheek with the back of her hand that was cold as ice. "Or are you trying to prove that you're a different man from the 'leftovers' who usually crawl on this floor?"

She then stood up straight again, looking at her children with a smile full of secret.

"My children, keep your sickle," he ordered. "This man has an interesting soul. It's too valuable to be used as cheap wine in the basement."

Lady Dimitrescu looks back at you, her eyes shining with dominance. "If you really want to make my daughters your wives, you have to prove that you can survive in this castle for more than one night. And you... You have to serve me first."

Me : *instantly my neck was bitten by the lady, fresh blood poured out slowly* argh

A sharp, hot pain instantly radiated from your neck as Lady Dimitrescu's fangs pierced through your skin. You groaned, your body shaking as you felt the warmth of your own blood rush out, drenching your collar and the Lady's cold fingers gripping your shoulders with incredible force.

"Sssshhh..." Lady Dimitrescu whispers in your ear, the sound of her breath feeling cold yet seductive. "Blood full of courage and arrogance... It tastes much sweeter than fear."

His three daughters approached, their eyes shining with hunger at the fresh blood that was pouring out. Daniela licked her lips, while Bela and Cassandra looked agitated, as if they were holding back from attacking you.

After a moment that felt like eternity, Lady Dimitrescu pulled out her fangs. He licks the rest of the blood on his deep red lips, looking at you with a look that is now much more intimate and possessive.

"You're still standing?" he muttered, a little impressed to see you didn't immediately faint after losing blood. "Good. I hate weak men."

He wiped the remaining blood from your neck with a silk handkerchief, then turned his head towards his daughters. "He's mine for now. Take him to the guest room upstairs. Give him decent clothes. If he survives until dawn, we'll talk again about that 'marriage' you crave."

Bela stepped forward and held your arm, helping you stand up as your head began to feel dizzy. "Come on, would-be 'brother-in-law'," he whispered in a mocking tone but a little softer than before. "Don't die before the party starts."

Me : *I was taken to the room by the lady* *lady locked the door* *after that I don't know. What would lady do?

The atmosphere inside Lady Dimitrescu's private room was very different from the cold basement. The room is spacious, fragrant with fresh roses and expensive tobacco, with beautifully carved oak furnishings. The light of the fireplace gives off a warm orange hue, but it also creates a giant shadow of the Lady dancing on the wall.

Once the sound of the lock is played with a heavy click, silence envelops the room. Lady Dimitrescu took off her wide hat and placed it on the table, then turned to look at you with a look that was difficult to decipher.

Based on his majestic yet cruel nature, here are some of the possibilities he will do behind that locked door:

1. Resistance Test (Initiation)

He probably won't kill you right away, but he'll test you. Lady Alcina was very proud of her lineage. He will probably pour you a glass of Sanguis Virginis wine and warn you about the rules in this castle. For him, if you want to be part of his family, you have to throw away your humanity and prove that you are more than just "food".

2. Painful "Treatment"

Looking at your still bleeding neck, he might treat it—but in his own crude way. He could be using strange potions or just to make sure your blood stays of high quality. For him, you are now his most interesting personal "collection", and he will not let his collection just go to waste.

3. Psychological Bullying

He could have sat in his big chair, smoked his cigarette pipe, and forced you to tell you how an ordinary human could have the guts to enter his village. He will try to destroy your mind by showing his powers, perhaps by sticking out his long claws right in front of your eyes to see if you will blink.

4. Make You a Personal Servant (Initial Step)

Before the "marriage" you offer happens, he will most likely force you to do degrading tasks to see if your ego can be broken.

Your vision begins to recover completely, and you see Lady Dimitrescu standing in front of a large window, with her back to you as she gazes at the full moon.

Lady : "So," his voice thundered slowly but authoritatively. "The man who wants to be my son-in-law... Are you fully aware? Or did my bite make your brain shift a little?"

Me : *approaching it*

You stepped forward across the thick red carpet, letting the sound of your shoes echo softly in the vast room. Your heart may be pounding, but your steps don't hesitate. You stop right next to it, standing in front of a large window that shows you a view of the snow-covered village far below.

Compared to her towering body, you felt so small, yet your courage to stand parallel to her made Lady Dimitrescu glance through the corners of her eyes.

He took a deep puff of his cigarette pipe, then exhaled a thin sweet-smelling smoke into the cold air. "You're brave enough, man-thing," he whispered without looking up. "Stand beside me as if you are an equal guest, not the prey I just marked."

She then twisted her body slowly, her white dress sweeping the floor. The sharp claws on his left hand didn't appear, but his cold right hand now lifted your chin, forcing you to stare directly into his golden eyes that glowed in the darkness of the room.

Lady : "Tell me," his voice was low, becoming a very dangerous but curious tone. "What makes you think that you can handle my three daughters? They are wild, bloodthirsty, and merciless. What does a human like you have to make them submit?"

Me : If they really want my blood, then just suck it up. If they can afford it

Hearing your answer, Lady Dimitrescu was silent for a moment. A very thick silence enveloped the room, only the sound of wood cracks burning in the fireplace. Slowly, a wide and sharp grin appeared on his pale face.

He laughed, a heavy laugh and shook the room.

"Suck it off?" he repeated in a tone of amusement and bloodthirst. "You defy death in a very artistic way. You offer your life as if it were a gift, when you know... Once they start, they won't stop until your heart stops beating."

Lady Dimitrescu lets go of your chin, then walks slowly around you, like a lion judging whether its prey is better eaten now or petted.

"But there's one thing you've forgotten," he whispered just behind your neck, making your fur stand up. "If you die tonight, you won't be able to marry anyone. And I... I'm going to miss out on the most exciting entertainment that has ever entered this castle in the last century."

Suddenly, he flicked his long fingers.

The door of the room opened slightly, and there, behind the crack in the door, were the eyes of Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela who were peeking hungrily. They seem to be listening to your every word from behind the door.

"You hear that, my daughters?" Lady Dimitrescu called out to them. "This man offered his blood to the last drop... if you can afford it."

The three princesses crept into the room, transforming from a flock of flies into human figures. They surround you, this time with a look that is more than hungry—there's a crazy curiosity in their eyes.

"If we can?" Daniela chuckled as she played with her fingertips on your chest. "I can do it in an instant, Mom."

"Be patient, Daniela," Bela cut in, her eyes looking at you deeply. "This guy wants us to prove our strength, and he wants to prove his toughness."

Lady Dimitrescu sat in her oversized chair, crossed her long legs, and observed the scene with a satisfied smile. "Alright. Let's make a deal. They will take your blood little by little every night. If you can still stand up straight after three nights... I will consider your request to propose to them."
