Chapter 7 - Scene: Infirmary Observations & Lunch Visit

The infirmary was quiet, the faint hum of the ventilation system filling the space. Shizuka Hiratsuka was seated on the bed, her ankle carefully bandaged, still wincing slightly when she shifted. Hachiman stood nearby, calm and collected, observing her with subtle intensity and care.

Yui and Yukino lingered outside, pretending to do schoolwork but clearly peeking through the slightly open door.

Yui whispered, eyes wide: "W-Wow… look at him… the way he's just… watching her. It's… so… different."

Yukino, arms folded, analytical as ever, added: "There's something… commanding about his presence. Not just confidence—aura. The way he holds himself… and the way she reacts… it's undeniable. Bold, but calm. Calculated."

Yui squeaked, covering her mouth. "He's… teasing her too! Look at her face! She's so flustered!"

Yukino smirked faintly. "He's definitely testing boundaries… but with care. Subtle, yet purposeful. It's… impressive in a strange way."

Hachiman Brings Lunch

Later, during Shizuka's rest period, Hachiman arrived with a small tray of lunch, simple but thoughtfully prepared. He entered the room with the same calm confidence, holding the tray like it was ceremonial.

"Here," he said softly, setting it down beside her bed. "Eat. You need energy to recover. And I want to make sure you don't overdo it."

Shizuka blinked, cheeks already warm. "H-Hachiman… you… you didn't have to…"

He smirked faintly, voice teasing but gentle: "Of course I did. Besides… it makes me sad to see you in pain. Shouldn't make me worry, sensei. You're supposed to be strong."

Shizuka's lips parted, flustered, but she accepted the tray and began to eat slowly. Hachiman stayed nearby, watching, occasionally checking her ankle subtly, ensuring she wasn't shifting too much.

Teasing & Care

He leaned slightly closer, tone low, calm, and teasing: "Careful, sensei. Injuries like this… make me sad. And I don't like seeing you sad. Eat properly, rest properly. Don't test my patience."

Shizuka's blush deepened as she looked at him, caught between embarrassment and a strange warmth she couldn't name.

Once she finished a portion of her lunch, Hachiman knelt slightly to her level, voice gentle but firm: "Good. That's enough for now. You're recovering, but slow and steady wins the race."

Then, almost imperceptibly, he leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.

Shizuka literally blushed violently, her heart leaping, and she almost forgot to breathe. Her hands gripped the blanket, her mind racing.

Hachiman straightened slightly, giving her a faint smirk and a playful wink. "Cute," he murmured softly.

Her eyes went wide, cheeks burning, and she mumbled something incoherent, still reeling from the combination of care, teasing, and bold intimacy.
