After the bell test, Team 7 officially existed.
Which meant one thing.
Work.

Over the next few days, Naruto Uzumaki made full use of the most broken technique he possessed:

Every morning before training began, Naruto would clap his hands together.

A dozen clones scattered across Konohagakure.
The mission was simple.

Naruto grinned while watching the notifications stack.
"Man this is awesome."
Another group of clones spent hours building traps.
Tripwires.

Sometimes the traps worked.
Sometimes the clones triggered them themselves.
Which still counted as testing.

Repeated clone use also strengthened his control over the technique already known, as well as his newly acquired Shadow Shuriken Jutsu.
Each wave of clones improved his familiarity with the jutsu, small subtleties revealed themselves. Shuriken were thrown with less delay, their overlapping shadows become more seamless as time went on.

Naruto stretched proudly.

The Shinobi Codex did not disagree.

Missions.

Which meant chores.
Lots of chores.
One day they caught runaway cats.
"GET BACK HERE!"
Naruto chased a small orange blur across rooftops.
Sasuke sighed while grabbing the animal effortlessly.
Another mission involved cleaning trash from the river.
Naruto poked a floating boot with a stick.
"Why do people throw shoes away?"
Sakura glared.
"Stop complaining and keep working."
Then came farm work.
Naruto hauled baskets of vegetables.
"This is basically weight training."
Sasuke muttered:
"It's basically humiliation."
Another day involved helping repair a fence.
Naruto hammered nails enthusiastically.
Three boards immediately collapsed.
Kakashi read his book nearby.
"Keep trying."
The missions piled up.
Cat catching.
Garden weeding.
Lost dog searching.
Fence repairs.
River cleaning.
It was tedious.
But the Shinobi Codex tracked everything.

He immediately imagined all the traps he could build now.
Somewhere across the village, Sasuke Uchiha suddenly felt concerned for no clear reason.

The paper was old—very old. The edges were slightly yellowed, but the ink was still dark and sharp.
On the front was a single spiral symbol.
Naruto recognized it from the very orange jacket he was wearing
Naruto frowned.
"Huh?"
He opened the envelope.
Inside was a folded letter.
The handwriting was neat but hurried.
Naruto read aloud.
"If you are reading this, then the seals I left behind have survived longer than I expected."
"My name does not matter anymore."
"I am—or was—an Uzumaki of the Hidden Whirlpool Village."
Naruto blinked.
Hidden Whirlpool Village?
He kept reading.
"Our clan has always been feared for our sealing arts and our vitality. During the last war, many of us scattered across the nations."
"Some hid their names. Some married into other clans. Some simply vanished."
"But one thing has always remained constant."
"Our bloodline survives."
Naruto scratched his head.
"...Okay?"
Naruto blinked slowly.
The final lines were written more carefully.
"Find the truth."
The letter crumbled slightly as Naruto lowered it.
Silence filled the training ground.

Then down at the letter.
Then back at the panel.
"...Huh."
He scratched his head.
"So basically…"
Naruto folded the letter carefully.
"I've got family secrets."
The Shinobi Codex chimed.
System Confirmation: Correct
Naruto's lower lip trembled. He had always thought that he was an orphan, randomly selected to contain the demon that assaulted Konoha the night he was born. Suddenly discovering that he had family, potentially a whole clan was overwhelming. After a minute of sniffling and gaining his composure, Naruto scrunched his brow and made the 2nd most important vow of his life.
"I'm gonna find out what happened to my family, believe it!"
Somewhere far away…
Forgotten ruins waited.
