Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Heavy Moment

The sight struck me like lightning, and I fell to my knees, staring at the dark, tragic scene in the silent kitchen. My eyes were fixed, trembling, on a girl hanging by a rope around her neck. My mouth fell open in shock.

"Are my eyes deceiving me? Is this real? Is this girl really… the same?" I pointed at her with my trembling finger and asked my brother.

He looked at me with a gaze full of sorrow and pain, then stared at the floor without saying a word. He was indeed in a pitiable state, though he tried to hide his feelings and clenched his hands, feeling helpless. Yes… he had felt weakness—or at least, that's what I assumed.

My heart ached, and tears began to pour from my eyes uncontrollably. They fell like winter snowflakes, descending without warning, like the sun burning a spring that caused clouds to condense due to global warming. Yes, that was my state—pitiful.

"First mother, and now my sister! Why is everyone committing suicide?! Is a person's life so trivial that it can be consumed like this?"

I screamed with anger and grief.

"Don't rush to conclusions. It could be a murder. Why assume it's suicide? Let's call the police first and let them investigate," my brother replied to my outburst with a tone that understood the situation.
