Chapter 8 -  Goku and Chi-Chi

"Yes! His name is Son Goku, and he's a very pure and kind child," the sea turtle continued. "He saved my life, and I promised him that I would repay him!"

"You want to repay him…" Master Roshi narrowed his eyes and stretched his tone, a knowing look appearing on his face.

"So what you really mean is… you want me to go repay him for you?"

"Oh, and by the way," the turtle added casually, revealing the key detail, "there's also a very, very beautiful girl traveling with that boy Son Goku. Her name is Bulma."

"Repay him! Of course we must repay him properly!"

Master Roshi's attitude changed instantly. All reluctance vanished without a trace.

He jumped to his feet, looking refreshed and excited.

"A life-saving favor is as great as being reborn! How could I not repay it? Wait here—I'll change into my most handsome outfit!"

With that, Roshi began rummaging through his belongings and quickly changed into a flashy Hawaiian outfit that he believed was extremely fashionable.

The turtle silently watched from the side, completely unsurprised.

I knew it.

As soon as a beautiful girl is mentioned, this old pervert becomes the most enthusiastic person alive.

After getting ready, the man and the turtle left the house and stepped onto the beach.

Broly was still kneeling on the picnic mat, finishing the last part of his meal.

He carefully cleaned the remaining food from the final plates, maintaining the same ritualistic precision.

"Broly, doing your sacred eating ceremony again?" Roshi joked as he approached.

Broly nodded firmly, his mouth still full of food, and replied with a muffled "Mm."

"The sea turtle said he met a kid outside who has a tail just like yours. His name is Son Goku," Roshi said. "Want to come with us and take a look?"

"No." Broly didn't even raise his head.

The answer was immediate and decisive.

"No one is allowed to interrupt my meal! Even if the sky falls, it can wait until I finish eating!"

"Alright, alright. Suit yourself," Roshi said, already expecting that answer. He patted Broly's sturdy shoulder.

"I'm going out with the turtle for a bit. Watch the house!"

Broly waved his hand dismissively while focusing on the nearly finished plate of honey-glazed fruit.

Roshi chuckled and skillfully climbed onto the turtle's back.

With a resigned sigh, the turtle carried the suspicious old man into the sea and slowly swam away.

About half an hour later—

Master Roshi returned to the shore riding the turtle.

However, the energetic confidence he had when leaving was gone.

Instead, his face showed a strange mixture of excitement and embarrassment.

His face was bright red.

Two streams of nosebleed flowed from his nostrils like tiny rivers, and he didn't even bother wiping them.

His eyes were unfocused as he muttered foolishly to himself with a dazed grin.

"Hehe… blue hair… so cute… such a generous figure… what did you show me… hehe…"

Clearly, whatever Bulma had shown him had caused an unprecedented shock to the heart and eyes of this several-hundred-year-old man.

Broly merely glanced at Roshi indifferently.

After confirming the old man could still walk and wasn't dying, Broly calmly returned his attention to a newly arranged dessert plate.

In Broly's eyes—

Nothing in the world was more important than food.

Several peaceful days passed like this.

On one particular day, the weather was perfect, with a clear blue sky.

As usual, Broly spread out his iconic blue picnic mat on the beach and began another round of his food ritual.

Master Roshi casually swept sand and fallen leaves around the house with a broom.

The turtle rested lazily on a rock, enjoying the warm sunlight.

Everything seemed no different from countless ordinary days before.

However—

Whoosh!

A golden cloud, soft and fluffy, suddenly streaked through the sky at incredible speed.

Its destination—

This small island.

Two small figures could vaguely be seen standing on top of it.

"Hey—! Heeey—!"

A lively voice full of youthful energy carried across the wind from the cloud.

"Who's shouting like that?" Roshi stopped sweeping and looked up into the sky, shading his eyes with his hand.

Broly, who had been carefully enjoying a delicate dessert, was also disturbed by the noise.

He frowned slightly and glanced calmly in the direction of the incoming cloud.

Son Goku jumped down from the Flying Nimbus.

"Oh, it's you!" Roshi recognized him immediately.

"Isn't this the kid I gave the Flying Nimbus to?"

"Is he really Master Roshi?" Chi-Chi looked at Roshi suspiciously.

"Hello, old grandpa!" Goku greeted cheerfully.

"I'm doing well," Roshi nodded.

"The Flying Nimbus you gave me is really useful!" Goku said, pointing to the golden cloud behind him.

"Of course it is," Roshi replied proudly. "A great master gave it to me."

"Oh… so it came from a master," Goku said with admiration.

Then he suddenly noticed Broly.

"Hi there!" Goku greeted him in a friendly tone.

Broly looked at him briefly.

Seeing that Goku had no hostility and didn't seem interested in stealing his food, Broly nodded slightly and then ignored him.

As for the tail behind Goku, Broly had already noticed it.

But he wasn't interested.

Broly's only real interest was eating.

So what if you have a tail?

I have one too.

"What a strange guy…" Goku muttered when Broly ignored him.

Chi-Chi stepped down from the Flying Nimbus as well and carefully observed Broly with a curious expression, though she said nothing.

"Hey! Don't be shy, little girl who came with Goku!" Roshi called out with a grin.

"When you look forward, you should stand straight and push your chest out like this!"

As he spoke, Roshi demonstrated the posture.

Chi-Chi's face immediately turned bright red with embarrassment.

"Grandpa, she's the daughter of the Ox-King," Goku explained.

"What? The Ox-King's daughter?" Roshi said in surprise.

"Her name is Chi-Chi," Goku added.

"Oh… she doesn't look anything like her father," Roshi said thoughtfully while looking up at the sky.

"Hey… is this old man really Master Roshi?" Chi-Chi whispered suspiciously to Goku.

"Yes," Goku nodded confidently.

"I'm going to test his ability," Chi-Chi declared.

"Huh?" Goku blinked in confusion.

"If he really is Master Roshi, he should be able to dodge this!"

With that, Chi-Chi grabbed the axe attached to her helmet, swung it, and hurled it directly toward Master Roshi.
