One quiet night, when the stars twinkled like tiny lanterns, a little rabbit hopped into the Great Garden. He came from the nearby jungle and sniffed around, looking for something tasty to eat.
His eyes landed on Carrot, who was happily nibbling on some fresh leaves. The rabbit crept closer… hop… hop… hop…
Suddenly, the Cabbage girls started shouting together:"Peggy! Peggy! Peggy!"
Peggy and Grandma Thalia hurried out of the pumpkin house. Carrot was trembling, his leafy green top shaking with fear.
"We have to do something!" Peggy whispered. "We can't let him eat our friends!"
All the vegetable friends huddled inside the pumpkin house to make a clever plan. They decided to set a trap for the sneaky rabbit.
First, they took little Chilli and painted him orange and green, just like a real carrot! Chilli giggled nervously as Peggy tied a tiny green leaf on his head. "You'll look just like a yummy carrot," said Grandma Thalia with a wink.
The next night, the rabbit returned. His nose twitched, and his eyes gleamed with excitement. He hopped straight for Chilli… chomp!
But oh no! Chilli was not an ordinary carrot—he was spicy and hot! The rabbit squealed, hopping and crying, "Ouch! Hot! Too hot!"
He ran back to the jungle as fast as he could and never came near the Great Garden again.
Peggy, Grandma Thalia, and all the vegetable friends cheered. Carrot hugged Chilli tightly. "Thank you for saving me!" he said.
Under the moonlight, Peggy laughed. "In our garden, we always look out for each other. And no sneaky rabbit can change that!"
