Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Modern Legend Begins

A deafening silence fell over the busy streets of Shanghai. People froze in their tracks, their smartphone held mid–air as the neon–lit intersection stood a girl who looked like she had stepped out of an ancient myth.

Dua—or rather, Shifa—looked around at the towering skyscraper and the humming electricity. The scent of rain on hot asphalt filled her lungs. She was back in the 'Mortal World, 'but she was no longer the invisible girl struggling for an audition. She was 6 feet of raw, celestial power, dressed I'm shimmering silk robes, holding a sword that bled Starlight.

"Dua... what kind of sorcery is this?" Zian whispered, his voice low and tight. He looked down at his own body. His ancient armor had flickered and transformed into a sleek, dark leather jacket, though his warrior spirit remained unchanged.

"This is my home, Zian, " Shifa replied, her eyes scanning the crowd. "But we didn't come back alone."

Suddenly, the streetlights began to flicker and explode one by one. The crowd started to scream as a familiar black ink—the Void Ink—began to seep from the storm drains. From the shadows of the alleyways, men in sharp, black modern suits emerged. But their eyes weren't human; they glowed with the same violet malice as the Shadow General.

"Lights! Camera! Action! " a distorted voice boomed through the city's public speakers.

Shifa turned to see the Director of her earlier audition standing on top of a parked car. His eyes were wide and vacant, controlled by a dark trance. "You wanted to be a star, Shifa? Well, the whole world is watching now. This is your live debut—and if you miss your mark, this city becomes your graveyard."

Shifa gripped her silver hilt, the star–slayer ring on her finger pulsing in sync with the city's heartbeat. She realized that in this world, her power was even more concentrated.

"Everyone, run! " Shifa commanded, her voice echoing with a divine authority that made people move instantly. "This isn't a movie! Get to safety!"

Zian stepped up beside her, his hand on the hilt of his blade. "How do we fight them here? There are too many witnesses."

Shifa offered a fierce, confident smile. "We fight exactly like we did in the Jade Kingdom. Just remember, Zian—in this world, the cameras are everywhere. So, let's give them a show they'll never forget."

With a powerful leap, Shifa soared into the air, her 6–foot frame silhouetted against a giant LED billboard. She swung her sword, creating a massive Star–Shield that rippled across the street, shattering the shadow agents' advance.

The people who were running stopped for a split second to look back. They didn't see a struggling actress anymore. They saw a legend come to life.

The war of the Two World had officially begun on the streets of the 21st century.

A deafening silence fell over the busy streets of Shanghai. People frozen in their tracks, their smartphones held mid–air as they stared in disbelief. In the center of the neon–lit intersection stood a gril who looked like she had stepped out of an ancient myth.

She was back in the 'Mortal World, ' but she was no longer the invisible girl struggling for an audition. The people who were running stopped for a split second to look back. They didn't see a struggling actress anymore. They saw a legend come to life.

The war of the Two Worlds had officially begun on the streets of the 21st century.

As Shifa landed on the asphalt, the ground cracked under the sheer weight of her celestial energy. The Shadow Agents in their black suits didn't bleed when she struck them; they dissolved into black smoke, only to reform seconds later.

"Zian! They are feeding off the city's electricity! " Shifa shouted, noticing the nearby streetlights flickering every time an agent reformed.

Zian slashed through a shadow with his leather–jacket–clad arm, his movements a blur of ancient martial arts. "Then we cut the source, Dua! But how do we stop the lightning of this world? "

Shifa looked up at the massive neon billboard of a luxury watch brand—the same brand she hoped to madel for. An idea flashed in her mind. She didn't just have the strength of a warrior; she had the mind of a modern girl.

"Zian, cover me! "

She ran toward the base of the skyscraper, her 6–foot frame moving with a grace that defied gravity. She jumped, using the window ledges as stepped stones, climbing higher and higher untill she reached the giant screen.

The Shadow General's face appeared on the billboard, ten times larger than life. "You can't stop the future, Shifa. I am the signal, and the signal is everywhere! "

"Then I'll just have to change the channel, "Shifa smirked.

She plunged her Star–Slayer dagger directly into the center of the LED screen. Instead of a short circuit, she poured her 'Spirit World' energy into the 'Mortal' wires. The silver light o the stars collided with the digital blue of the city.

A massive EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) ripped out from the building. Every screen in a three–block radius turned white. The H Shadow Agents shrieked as their forms flickered and finally vanished into nothingness.

Silence returned to the street, broken only by the sound of car alarms. Shifa stood at the top of the ledge, looking down at the shocked crowd. For the first time, she wasn't just Shifa the student, or Dua the warrior. She was a hero of the new age.

But then, her phone buzzed. A message from an unknown number: "I saw what you did. I know your secret. Meet me at the Old Tea Shop at midnight. — A Friend.
