Chapter 2 - Chapter 2. The locket's chosen

It was a dark, silent night when Julian returned to his old house, haunted by memories of his parents. The cold wind brushed against the broken windows as he stepped inside, lost in thoughts of the past.

Suddenly, his eyes caught a glimpse of movement outside. Under the pale moonlight, a girl in a flowing blue dress was dancing - her face hidden behind a blue mask, her eyes shining with a strange, clever beauty.

Drawn to her, Julian walked closer, his heartbeat quickening. As he approached, the girl turned - startled - and stumbled straight into his arms. For a moment, time stood still. Her perfume, her trembling breath, and those mysterious eyes... they felt familiar, yet distant.

The girl was Enna - though Julian couldn't recognize her behind the mask. He was about to speak when she suddenly pulled away and started running.

As she turned, the moonlight caught a faint tattoo on her neck - a mark that made Julian freeze. His mind flashed back to that horrible night - the night his parents were killed. The murderer... had the same tattoo.

"Wait!" Julian shouted, chasing after her, but she vanished into thin air

Unseen, Enna crouched in the woods, her heart racing, confusion swirling in her mind. What was he doing here?

The next morning, Enna caught sight of her reflection. Her hand instinctively went to the back of her neck, and she froze. A faint burn mark marred the skin where her tattoo lay. Her heart skipped a beat.

Yesterday... she had been so close to the locket. Yet, she hadn't even touched Lucas-so how could her tattoo have been burned? Confusion twisted in her mind, a mix of fear and curiosity. Something had happened last night, something she didn't fully understand.

College Scene

In the college courtyard, Enna noticed a group of boys laughing loudly. They had dropped a dustbin over a shy girl, teasing her cruelly.

Enna's eyes narrowed. Without hesitation, she walked forward with steady, confident steps. Her calm face carried a warning, and the boys stopped laughing.

One of them, bolder than the rest, stepped closer to Enna as if to challenge her. But before he could take another step, Julian appeared from the side.

Without a word, Julian's fist connected with the boy's jaw. The crowd gasped.

"Try that again," Julian said coldly, his eyes sharp.

The other boys backed away quickly, their arrogance fading into fear.

Enna glanced at Julian, surprised for a moment, then turned her gaze back to the rescued girl. With a soft but strong voice, she said, "You're safe now. Don't let them make you feel small."

The girl nodded gratefully, while Julian stood beside Enna - silent, protective, and burning with unspoken anger.

Enna muttered a quick "Thanks" to Julian and then added coldly,

"I didn't need you anyway."

Julian blinked, a little surprised, then leaned closer, touching her forehead lightly.

"Do you have a fever or something?" he asked sarcastically, before bursting into laughter.

At first, Enna felt irritated by his teasing. But then... she noticed something. His laugh. It wasn't mocking, it wasn't fake-it was pure. For a second, she froze, almost lost in that rare sound. She had never seen anyone laugh so freely.

Snapping back to herself, she turned to leave. But just then, her dress tore slightly at the back. Julian noticed immediately. Without a word, he scooped her up in his arms.

"Put me down!" she protested, but before she could argue more, the sky roared. A thunderstorm broke, and heavy rain poured down. Suddenly, her tattoo burned fiercely. Pain shot through her, and without thinking, she clung tightly to him, whispering,

"Let me go... please..."

But Julian didn't let go. He rushed her into an empty room nearby, gently setting her down. Taking off his jacket, he draped it over her trembling shoulders.

Enna's body grew weak. Her legs gave out, and she fell to the floor. Julian quickly bent down, worry flashing across his face.

"What's happening to you?" he asked, panic in his voice.

Her eyes lifted to his, and for a long moment, they were caught-his hand hovering near hers, their bodies soaked, their breaths uneven.

The world outside raged with thunder, but inside, silence wrapped around them. They were lost in each other's eyes, drawn closer without realizing it.

And just then-the door burst open. A group of students ran into the room, laughing and shaking off the rain. Enna and Julian quickly pulled back, both nervous, their hearts still pounding from what had almost happened.

That night, Enna met her agent, Valor.

The moonlight flickered against her face as she said, her voice low and uneasy,

"Valor... my tattoo. It's burning again. Why is this happening? Is there something wrong with the locket?"

Valor's expression shifted. For a moment, he couldn't speak - only stare.

Then, like a shadow slipping through his mind, a forgotten memory returned.

He saw the throne of fire, the Shaytan King of the Jinn Empire seated upon it, his eyes glowing like molten gold.

"The locket," the king had said, his voice echoing through the dark hall,

"will consume anyone who tries to destroy it. But Enna... she is different. Born of human warmth and jinn fire. She was made for this. Once she breaks the locket, my 22 years of unfinished work will finally be complete."

The vision vanished as quickly as it came.

Valor's heart pounded. He looked at Enna - the girl who had no idea of the darkness tied to her blood... or of the destiny waiting to burn her from within.

Had she already been choosen...or curse?
