Chapter 7: The Underground Academy

The van rattled as it descended a hidden freight elevator disguised as a maintenance shed on the far edge of the UA High School campus. As the hydraulic hiss echoed against the concrete walls, the world above—the sunlight, the Commission's propaganda, and the life Izumi Midoriya once knew—faded into a cold, artificial glow.

"We're two hundred meters below the faculty dorms," Melissa Shield whispered, her tablet finally turning from a frantic red to a stable, glowing blue. "The shielding here is composed of lead-lined server mesh. Not even the Commission's high-altitude 'Scan-Drones' can see us now."

The elevator doors slid open to reveal a sprawling, high-tech command center that looked less like a school and more like a fortress. Monitors lined the walls, scrolling through mountains of cascading green binary. Personnel in sleek, dark-blue uniforms moved with purpose, their patches bearing a stylized crest of a lightning bolt intersecting a digital shield.

"Welcome," a high-pitched, polite voice rang out through the hum of the servers, "to the heart of the resistance."

Standing on a raised platform was a small, white creature in a sophisticated suit—Principal Nezu. Beside him stood All Might, who had arrived via a separate entrance, looking weary but relieved.

"Principal Nezu?" Izumi gasped, her D-Tector humming in recognition of the dense data-field in the room. "You're... you're hiding us?"

"Hiding you? No, Izumi," Nezu said, a sharp, intelligent glint in his small eyes. "I am recruiting you. You are currently standing in the headquarters of DATS: the Digital Accident Tactics Squad. While the Hero Public Safety Commission seeks to weaponize the Digital World for political leverage, we are a top-secret government branch dedicated to containing 'Digital Accidents' and protecting the boundary between our worlds."

Himiko Toga stepped forward, her hand resting protectively on her black D-Tector. "If you're the government, why aren't you turning us over to the Commission?"

"Because the Commission has gone rogue," Nezu replied, hopping down from his platform. "They believe the 'Seeds' belong to them. We believe the Seeds belong to the children they chose. We've been operating in the shadows for a decade, waiting for the first of you to bloom."

Nezu gestured toward a quiet corner of the command center, where a small girl sat on a bench. She looked no older than seven, with long, pale-blue hair and a small, ivory horn protruding from her forehead. She was clutching a white-and-pink D-Tector to her chest, her eyes wide with a mixture of hope and haunting sadness.

"Meet our third recruit," Nezu said softly. "Eri Blanc. She was recovered from a 'Glitched' research facility run by a Commission affiliate. She has been here for a month, waiting for others who speak the same language as her soul."

Izumi walked over to the little girl, kneeling so they were eye-to-eye. She could feel a soft, rhythmic warmth radiating from Eri's device—the Spirit of Light (Variant).

"Hi, Eri," Izumi said, her voice like a gentle breeze. "I'm Izumi. And this is Himiko. We... we have those gadgets too."

Eri looked at the green and black D-Tectors, and for the first time, a small, fragile smile touched her lips. "The wind... and the shadow," Eri whispered. "The lady in my box said you were coming. She said her name is Sistermon Blanc."

"Three of the six have gathered," Melissa noted, her eyes misty as she watched the interaction. "But we're out of time for introductions. Nezu, the Commission has already authorized the deployment of the 'Iron Maiden' unit. They're hunting for Izumi's specific frequency."

Nezu's expression hardened. "Then the Academy begins today. All Might will handle your physical conditioning, but DATS will handle your Spirit Integration. You won't just be students, girls. You are the frontline against a digital apocalypse."

Izumi stood up, looking around at her new family—a skeletal hero, a genius inventor, a reformed runaway, a traumatized child, and a principal who fought a secret war. She felt the Spirit of Wind swell within her, no longer a burden, but a purpose.

"Let's get to work," Izumi said.
