Chapter 92 - Chapter 93 Faustus

Chapter 93 Faustus

The Quinjet sliced through the night sky, flying north from the South American rainforests towards the steel jungle of the North American continent.

Inside the cabin, the atmosphere was somewhat heavy.

Tony sat in the pilot's seat, took off his helmet, and gulped down some coffee.

The coffee was cold, bitter, and astringent.

Just like his current mood.

"Fuck."

Tony irritably ran his fingers through his messy hair.

He hated this feeling.

This feeling of being completely dominated, of not being in control of himself.

He, Tony Stark, playboy, billionaire, genius inventor.

When did he become someone else's lackey?

"Hey, big guy." Tony glared at Bruce Banner, who was sitting in the back cabin with his eyes closed, resting.

Banner opened his eyes and pushed up his glasses: "What is it, Tony?"

"Do you think what we're doing now is right?" Tony's voice was a little dry.

"We just forced a guy to submit."

"Although that guy wasn't a good person either, keeping hundreds of people as pets, but this method, isn't it a bit…"

Tony couldn't find a suitable word.

"Too Hydra-like?"

Banner fell silent.

He adjusted his glasses, and the look behind the lenses was somewhat complex.

"I don't know," Banner said softly.

"I only know that Mr. Leon Odinson, his power, is beyond our comprehension."

"Hulk is very afraid of him."

Banner spoke a fact that made him feel ashamed.

"That light…"

"Hulk told me that it's not energy, it's a rule. It's saying you are not allowed to move."

Tony's Adam's apple bobbed.

Even Hulk is afraid?

"Alright." Tony took a deep breath, "It seems we've boarded a pirate ship."

He glanced at the golden Superman next to him, Adam, who had been silent the entire time.

"What about you, Perfect Human? Don't you have anything to say? He just dug you out of a cocoon, and you willingly became his bodyguard?"

Adam slowly opened his golden eyes.

His expression was as indifferent as ever, as if he had no human emotions.

"He is very strong."

Adam's hoarse voice sounded.

"My mission is destruction. But he granted me a goal."

Tony rolled his eyes.

"Fuck! I'm practically leading a kindergarten!"

"Jarvis! How much longer until we arrive?!"

"Sir, estimated arrival at the target airspace in Chicago in ten minutes."

"Very good."

Tony put his helmet back on, and the faceplate closed.

"Get ready to work, Kindergarten Assault Team."

"Hope the next target gives us some surprises."

...Chicago suburbs.

A typical U.S. middle-class detached house.

The lawn was neatly trimmed, and a welcome sign hung on the white fence.

Inside the living room, the lights were bright, filled with laughter.

"No! Dad! You cheated again!"

A seven or eight-year-old Black boy was pouting, protesting to the man in front of him.

"I didn't, Jack."

The man, Faustus, wearing black-rimmed glasses and a plaid shirt, smiled innocently.

"You just didn't calculate the angle correctly. Angry Birds needs physics, okay?"

"I don't care! You cheated!" Little boy Jack insisted.

"Alright, alright, you two."

Faustus's family member came over with a plate of sliced apples.

"Jack, it's time for bed. You have soccer tomorrow."

"Oh…" Jack reluctantly put down his tablet.

Faustus smiled and ruffled his son's head, his eyes full of doting affection.

"Go on, little one. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Dad."

Jack ran upstairs.

Faustus stood up and hugged his family member from behind.

"Thank you," he said softly, "Thank you for giving me a home."

His family member kissed his forehead.

"What nonsense are you saying?"

"We are family."

Faustus smiled.

Yes.

Home.

For thousands of years, he had witnessed human folly and infighting.

He had once thought this race was beyond saving.

Until he met his family, until he met Jack.

He found his anchor.

He just wanted to live peacefully like this, as a human being.

Forever.

"Buzz!!"

Just then.

Outside the window, a roar of engines came with a sense of oppression.

Faustus's smile froze!

"Quickly take Jack! Hide in the basement! Hurry!!"

Faustus suddenly pushed his family member away, his face drained of color!

"What? Faustus? What's happening…"

"Don't ask! Just go!!" Faustus's voice became sharp with fear!

He could feel it!

That energy… it's a Quinjet!

Is it S.H.I.E.L.D.?!

No!

That's not right!

There's another, more terrifying, more familiar energy!

Is it Ikaris?!

No! Stronger than Ikaris!

It's… "Thump! Thump! Thump!"

Heavy knocking sounded at the door.

Unrushed, polite.

Faustus's heart, however, sank to rock bottom.

"Mr. Faustus?"

Outside the door, a cynical voice came.

"Tony Stark. S.H.I.E.L.D., uh, temporary worker."

"Can you open the door? We're not here to collect water bills."

"We're Eternals census takers."

Faustus's body stiffened.

"Go now!" he roared towards the stairs.

Then, he took a deep breath, and spread his hands!

"Buzz!"

A complex geometric pattern, light gold and constructed of pure energy, appeared before him!

His originally gentle eyes turned cold!

"No matter who you are!"

"Stay away from my family!!!"

"Boom!!"

Faustus pushed with both hands!

A powerful burst of energy erupted from his palms, instantly pulverizing all the furniture in the living room!

The entire front door was blown to smithereens!

The Shockwave wave of energy went straight for Tony Stark outside the door!

"Oh! Shit!!"

Tony only had time to curse!

"Boom!!!"

The Mark armor was hit head-on by this energy, flying back over ten meters and slamming hard into the fence!

"I knew it! I knew there wouldn't be any surprises! Only scares!"

Tony climbed out of the rubble, the Arc Reactor on his armor's chest flashing a dazzling red light.

"Jarvis! Damage report!"

"Sir, chest armor energy erosion thirty percent! Repulsor system temporarily offline!"

"Fuck! Is this guy a power bank that came to life?!"

Tony had just finished cursing.

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

Two figures had already passed him, rushing towards the small house!

It was Banner and Adam!

"No! Wait! Don't…"

Tony hadn't finished his sentence.

"Boom!!!"

"Boom!!!"

Two loud bangs!

"Bang! Bang!"

"Don't demolish their lawn," Tony finished his sentence, shrugging helplessly.

Hulk angrily got up, roared, and was about to charge again.

"Roar!!!"

Adam also floated up, destructive cosmic energy shooting from his golden eyes!

"Stop!!"

Faustus rushed out of the door, his entire body covered in golden energy armor.

Behind him were his trembling family, and Jack, who had just run downstairs with a terrified expression.

"Don't come any closer!!" Faustus screamed at the top of his lungs.

"I don't want to hurt you! I just want to protect my family!!"

"Hey! Hey! Calm down! Calm down, Craftsman!"

Tony raised his hands, flew over, and stopped in the middle of the two sides.

"We're not here to fight!"

"We were sent by Mr. Leon Odinson!"

Tony quickly reported the name of his backend boss.

Indeed.

Hearing that name.

Faustus's pupils suddenly constricted!

"Leon Odinson?"

"The Prince of Asgard?!"
