Chapter 1 - THE FIREBALL AND THE GIANT FISH

In a vast and mysterious galaxy filled with countless worlds, endless life forms existed. Some planets were peaceful, while others were filled with chaos and danger. Creatures of every kind lived across the universe—humans, aliens, and many other species beyond imagination.

Long ago, according to ancient legends, the Gods chose certain individuals among these beings and granted them extraordinary powers.

These gifts were not limited to only the kind-hearted.

Sometimes even dangerous creatures were chosen.

Power itself was neutral. It depended on the heart of the one who carried it.

Because of that, heroes were born—individuals who used their strength to protect life and maintain balance in the universe.

Far from the busy worlds and advanced civilizations, there was a quiet island surrounded by an endless ocean.

The island was peaceful and beautiful. Tall palm trees swayed gently in the wind, and the sound of waves crashing against the shore filled the air day and night. Seagulls flew above the sea, and the golden sunlight reflected across the water like thousands of sparkling diamonds.

It was the kind of place where life moved slowly and peacefully.

On this island lived a boy named Thierry.

Thierry was sixteen years old. Though he lived on a small island, his mind was always filled with big dreams. Whenever he looked out at the endless horizon of the sea, he imagined what kind of adventures existed beyond it.

He dreamed of traveling across the world, discovering new lands, and facing incredible challenges.

But there was one thing he was certain about.

He never wanted to go on that journey alone.

Fortunately, he had two friends who had been with him since childhood.

Their names were Brian and Ishimwe.

The three of them had grown up together like brothers.

Brian was technically the oldest, already eighteen years old, but he often acted more cautious than the others. Ishimwe and Thierry were both sixteen, full of energy, curiosity, and sometimes reckless courage.

Although they laughed and joked together often, each of them carried painful memories.

Brian had lost his parents years ago in the city. They had been attacked by a criminal who possessed ice abilities. Ever since that day, Brian had become more careful and fearful of dangerous situations.

Ishimwe had also suffered a tragic loss. When he was only eight years old, his father had died during a terrible fire in a hotel. The news had shattered his world, but over time he learned to stay strong.

Thierry's past was perhaps the most mysterious.

When he was just two years old, his parents suddenly disappeared.

No one on the island knew what had happened to them. They were simply… gone.

The person who raised Thierry was an old man named Mukong.

Mukong had known Thierry's parents well, and when they disappeared, he took responsibility for the child without hesitation.

To Thierry, Mukong was more than just a guardian.

He was like a grandfather.

Mukong was respected by everyone on the island. Despite his old age, he still carried himself with quiet strength and wisdom. The villagers trusted him deeply.

He taught Thierry many things about life—discipline, patience, and courage.

When Brian and Ishimwe became close friends with Thierry, Mukong welcomed them as well. Soon the three boys were always seen together around the island.

Mukong guided them as they grew up, teaching them lessons not only about school but also about life.

The boys admired him greatly.

One bright summer afternoon, the sun shone warmly across the ocean.

The sky was clear and blue, and a gentle breeze moved across the beach.

Thierry, Brian, and Ishimwe were spending their time near the coast, enjoying the beautiful day.

As usual, they had turned something simple into a competition.

Fishing.

Whoever caught the biggest fish would win.

The three boys laughed and teased each other while checking their catches.

Suddenly, Brian's voice broke the calm air.

Brian:

"Yeah! I found a big one!"

He lifted a large fish proudly, his face glowing with excitement.

Brian:

"It's about 180 centimeters long and 20 centimeters wide!"

He looked at the others confidently, waiting for their reaction.

Ishimwe raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms.

Then he lifted his own fish.

Ishimwe:

"That's nothing compared to mine."

He smiled proudly.

Ishimwe:

"My fish is also 180 centimeters long—but it's 40 centimeters wide."

Brian's proud expression quickly faded.

Thierry burst out laughing.

Thierry:

"Huh… looks like Ishimwe wins this time."

He scratched his head sheepishly.

Thierry:

"I guess I had bad luck today. I couldn't find a big fish."

Brian and Ishimwe looked at him curiously.

Thierry shrugged casually.

Thierry:

"So I just caught sixteen normal fish instead."

There was a moment of silence.

Then Ishimwe laughed.

Ishimwe:

"At least you caught something. But this time… I definitely win."

The three friends laughed loudly together.

For a moment, everything felt peaceful.

But that peace didn't last long.

Suddenly—

A bright streak of light appeared in the sky.

It moved incredibly fast, like a burning star falling from the heavens.

Before anyone could understand what it was—

BOOM!

A gigantic fireball crashed into the mountain near the island.

The impact shook the ground violently.

Birds scattered into the sky.

The calm ocean suddenly transformed into chaos.

The water roared as enormous waves began rising higher and higher.

Within seconds, massive walls of water formed, rushing toward the island with terrifying force.

Brian's face instantly turned pale.

His heart began pounding.

Brian:

"Oh no… guys, run for your lives!"

Without waiting another second, Brian turned and ran toward home as fast as his legs could carry him.

Fear controlled his body.

He didn't even dare to look back.

But Thierry and Ishimwe reacted very differently.

Instead of running away…

Their eyes lit up with excitement.

They grabbed their boards and sprinted toward the ocean.

The massive wave rising before them was more than ten meters high.

To most people, it would have been terrifying.

But to them—

It looked like the ultimate challenge.

They jumped onto their boards and rode straight into the giant wave.

Water exploded around them as they began surfing across the powerful ocean like experienced professionals.

Thierry laughed loudly, his voice filled with excitement.

Thierry:

"Let's see who can jump the highest!"

He grinned.

Thierry:

"I dare you!"

Ishimwe smirked confidently.

Ishimwe:

"Obviously me."

The two boys began performing incredible tricks across the raging waves.

They jumped, flipped, and glided through the water with amazing skill.

But suddenly—

Something moved beneath the ocean.

A massive shadow passed below them.

Before they could react, a gigantic creature burst from the water.

Water exploded everywhere.

It was a fish.

But calling it a fish almost felt wrong.

This creature was enormous.

Its massive body stretched nearly 18 meters long, and its dark scales shone under the sunlight.

Thierry and Ishimwe stared at it in disbelief.

Then they both shouted at the same time.

Thierry & Ishimwe:

"Gigantic fish!"

Without thinking, they both punched the creature on the head.

THUD.

The moment their fists hit its skin, pain shot through their hands.

It felt like hitting solid stone.

The creature didn't even react.

Thierry stared at it in shock.

Thierry:

"Huh… it didn't even move."

He slowly turned toward Ishimwe.

Thierry:

"So… what do we do now?"

Ishimwe didn't hesitate.

Ishimwe:

"Try to survive!"

The gigantic fish suddenly noticed them.

Its massive body disappeared beneath the water.

Then it began chasing them.

The boys dove underwater to escape, but the creature followed them like a hunting predator.

They couldn't stay underwater for long because the violent waves made it impossible.

Soon they were forced back to the surface.

They began surfing again, racing across the ocean as fast as they could.

Despite the danger, Thierry was still smiling.

Thierry:

"Hoooooaaaah! This is the best part!"

Ishimwe looked around nervously.

Ishimwe:

"Yeah… maybe the fish is gone."

Thierry frowned.

Thierry:

"Wait… what? Just when the fun was starting?"

Right at that moment—

The gigantic fish attacked again from beneath them like a shark.

BOOM!

The impact launched both boys into the air.

Their boards flew away.

They crashed violently onto the coast.

The world spun around them.

Then everything went dark.

A few minutes later, the ocean slowly calmed down.

The giant waves disappeared.

The massive fish returned to the mountain where the mysterious fireball had struck.

Brian returned to the coast with Master Mukong.

Mukong looked at the unconscious boys lying on the sand.

Without hesitation, he carried them home and took care of them.

After some time, they began to recover, though they were still sleeping.

Brian crossed his arms and sighed.

Brian:

"This time I was right. They shouldn't have laughed at me."

Mukong looked toward the ocean.

His expression was serious.

His eyes slowly moved toward the distant mountain where the fireball had fallen.

He remained silent for a moment before speaking.

Mukong:

"Hmmm… if it were only the waves, they could have handled it."

He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

Mukong:

"But it seems… something else caused this."

And far away, on the mountain where the fireball had landed…

Something mysterious had already begun to awaken.

The room was quiet except for the faint sound of breathing.

Brian stood with his arms crossed, staring at the two boys lying on the ground. Thierry and Ishimwe had finally regained consciousness after the terrifying encounter on the sea. Their bodies were still weak, but their expressions slowly returned to normal.

Brian sighed and rubbed the back of his head.

"So… what do you think happened?" he asked.

Mukong, who had been silently observing the situation, shook his head slightly.

"Only the two of them can tell us what actually happened."

Brian glanced at the messy clothes scattered around the room and frowned.

"I'll be taking their clothes away," he said. "The ones here are a complete disaster."

A few moments later, Brian returned.

Thierry and Ishimwe had now fully recovered. Surprisingly, they didn't look traumatized at all. Instead, they seemed strangely excited.

They looked at each other… and suddenly burst into loud laughter.

"Oh yeah!" Thierry said while laughing. "That was epic!"

Their laughter echoed through the room as if they had just experienced the most thrilling adventure of their lives.

Brian stared at them in disbelief.

"You both fainted," he said slowly. "And yet you're still smiling like nothing happened."

Ishimwe stretched his arms confidently.

"We survived," he said calmly. "That's the only thing that matters now. But honestly… riding that destructive wave was actually fun."

Thierry nodded thoughtfully.

"Hmm… even though that fish — or whatever that creature was — had blue lightning eyes. Its head was as hard as a rock. The pain I felt when it hit me was insane."

Ishimwe frowned slightly.

"What kind of fish could that be? Even a shark would be ten times weaker than the one we faced."

Thierry looked toward the ceiling, deep in thought.

"Hmm… could it be a legendary unknown creature?"

Before anyone could answer, Mukong stepped forward.

"I'm glad you two are fine," he said. "But I don't think that was a normal fish."

Everyone turned to him.

"And I believe the earthquake we heard earlier… might be connected to it."

Thierry raised an eyebrow.

"You mean the fireball that hit the mountain?"

Mukong nodded.

"Exactly."

He walked toward the window and stared outside at the distant horizon.

"Things on this planet are becoming more unusual and mysterious. I want you guys to go to that mountain and see if there's anything related to that creature… and the fireball."

Brian smirked slightly.

"I never thought we'd die this soon," he joked. "But honestly… this journey sounds like a great idea."

Thierry's eyes lit up with excitement.

"So we're going on a journey to the mountain?"

He grinned widely.

"So cool."

Brian and Ishimwe looked at each other and nodded.

"Well… this will definitely be amazing."

Ishimwe clenched his fists.

"And I'll get my revenge on that fish for hitting me."

Thierry laughed.

"That's always the best motivation for more fun," he said. "But Ishimwe… good luck with your new friend."

Mukong crossed his arms seriously.

"Well… good luck. And get prepared. You might face a very difficult challenge."

Ishimwe smirked confidently.

"Don't worry. We can handle this."

He paused before adding with a grin,

"And whatever that fish is… it will become something easy for us to deal with."

Later, they all went to their secret house to prepare.

The small hideout was filled with equipment and tools they had collected over time.

Ishimwe carefully prepared a large stick reinforced with metal, turning it into a powerful weapon.

Brian grabbed a bag filled with shurikens. He also wore a special cotton jacket designed to transform slightly underwater and help him move faster.

They began placing different materials and equipment inside their small boat.

Thierry watched them for a moment before raising his hand.

"Uh… guys," he said. "We're going to investigate… not start a war."

Ishimwe shrugged.

"Yeah, but what about the gigantic fish? We might need to kill that thing."

Brian looked at the overloaded boat and shook his head.

"Hmm… the boat won't handle all this."

So they began removing most of the equipment, leaving only two essential items each.

Thierry wore special gloves designed to increase his speed on water.

Brian kept his underwater glasses that allowed him to see clearly beneath the surface.

And Ishimwe held onto his metal staff and gloves.

Just as they finished preparing, someone approached them.

"Oh hey, guys!"

They turned around.

It was Mildret.

Brian smiled.

"Oh hey, Mildret. How are you?"

"I'm doing good," she replied. "But… where are you guys going?"

Ishimwe crossed his arms.

"None of your business, girl. This is for boys."

Thierry chuckled awkwardly.

"Hehe… well… we're actually going to the mountain."

Mildret's eyes widened.

"Huh? Isn't that dangerous? I heard there's a monster there."

Ishimwe rolled his eyes.

"Why do you even think we're going?"

Brian nodded.

"Yeah. We're going to see the monster."

Thierry stretched his arms confidently.

"Hmm… it's finally time, guys."

Mildret stepped forward.

"Can I come too?"

"No!" Ishimwe replied immediately.

"Please, Brian… Thierry," she insisted.

Thierry gently placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Well, Mildret… as a friend, I think you should stay."

He smiled jokingly.

"And besides… you can't die before having kids."

Mildret stared at him in shock.

Brian laughed.

"He's right. Stay here and take care of the island."

Mildret sighed.

"That's unfair… but fine. I'll stay."

She looked at Thierry.

"But come back safe, okay?"

Ishimwe crossed his arms confidently.

"Even if he dies… I'll revive him."

Mildret blinked.

"Wow… you finally said something positive."

Thierry and Brian burst out laughing.

Brian shook his head.

"He actually says that when you're not around."

At that moment, Mukong walked toward them.

"Are you guys ready?"

Thierry nodded.

"Yeah. We're ready."

"We'll see you later, Mildret."

Suddenly, Mildret stepped forward and hugged Thierry tightly.

"Keep them safe," she whispered. "And Brian… be confident."

Ishimwe jumped into the boat.

"Alright. Let's go instead of waiting."

The three boys climbed into the boat.

Mukong and Mildret stood on the shore, watching silently as the boat slowly moved across the water.

Mukong raised his voice one last time.

"Always remember… you are not alone."

His eyes became serious.

"Even if you meet the darkness."

The boat continued moving forward across the endless sea.

Ahead of them, the distant mountain stood tall and silent… hiding whatever mystery awaited them.

Prepared and determined, the teenagers sailed forward—ready to face whatever the mountain had in store for them.
