The institution had a name.
The Designation Research Consortium.
Richard had told them. Sandra had found the formal registration in the public records database — a nonprofit research organization, incorporated twenty-three years ago, with a stated mission of *advancing the clinical and legal understanding of biological designation in human populations.*
The mission statement was, Damian thought, genuinely accurate.

He and Kendrick spent the rest of the morning building the picture. Not just Reeves's operational activities — the routing, the database, the families he'd serviced. The institution itself. Its structure, its history, its funding sources beyond Richard's contribution.
"Three generations," Damian said.
He set a document in front of Kendrick.
