Rose had everything it takes to live a better life in South Africa: money, jewellery, and luxurious houses. Her mansion stood proudly in the midst of other houses beautified with flowers. Her garage was filled with gigantic cars. Yet, there was something she lacked: to be loved perfectly.
She was a lover girl who never cared about the background of her partner as long as she was loved completely. With her riches, it wasn't surprising that chiefs, governors, and mighty men in town were asking for her hand in marriage. Despite her riches, she was always alone. The silence in her mansion made her worried.
The waste of food without having anyone to consume it bothered her a lot.
On a Friday afternoon, she sat in her room, wondering how she could navigate her love life.
"Oh, to be loved perfectly," she whispered.
Rose had always been alone. She lost her parents when she was very young, and since then, she had no one to guide her heart. She was always sad and full of regret that her parents didn't live to see her prosper.
The following day, she stepped out to resume work, hoping the world might somehow give her an answer.
At the car wash, she noticed a man. His huge and warm smile caught her attention immediately. He was a dark-skinned man, huge and handsome.
His name was Tami.
"What is a handsome man like you doing at a car wash?" Rose asked.
Tami chuckled shyly.
Rose stepped closer, trying to draw his attention, but suddenly Tami broke down in tears.
He began to tell his story: how he had lost his job and had come to the car wash hoping there might be a vacancy. Unfortunately, he had just been told that no workers were needed.
Rose felt touched by his sad story.
"The world is always unkind to the poor," she said softly.
A small smile appeared on her face because she saw it as an opportunity to win his heart.
She handed him a cheque of one million naira and instructed him to visit one of her companies the following day.
Tami was shocked and ecstatic about the miracle that had happened so quickly.
He couldn't believe his eyes.
He was screaming and jumping around, thinking it was a dream.
"I wouldn't have experienced this if I had stayed at home thinking all day," he said gratefully.
Then he hesitated before asking, "Can I get your contact?"
Rose chuckled.
A warm wave of happiness spread through her body because she had already started falling for him even before he asked.
"You can have my contact," she said softly.
Rose entered her car and drove away, her heart filled with excitement.
She believed she had just met a loving man.
A genuine and handsome man who will finally be with her forever.
Little did she know that Tami would become the worst mistake of her life.
That night, she couldn't sleep.
She was thinking about Tami's handsomeness, his huge height, and his voice—how the tears were rolling down from his eyes and the way he smiled at her after collecting the cheque.
She kept on wondering,
"Is this how true love really begins?" she whispered.
The following morning, she woke up and started prepping for a new day. She was excited about how she was going to meet Tami again.
She stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her hair and checking out her cute outfit for the day.
"I look so hot," she said gently.
She entered one of her cars and drove off.
When she got to the office, she wore a beautiful smile that got the attention of her staff.
"Today is a good day," one of her staff whispered.
She was about to set up her laptop when she heard a knock at the door.
"Come in," she said loudly.
It was her personal assistant, who came in to tell her that there was a man at the reception asking for her, and Rose instructed her to bring him to her office.
He was brought to her office, and Rose couldn't move an inch but stare romantically because she was so impressed with his dressing and huge smile.
He tried to get her attention, but Rose was lost in the spirit.
He smiled and hit the table to bring her back.
"Oh, my bad," she said quietly.
They both sat down and started discussing how she could fit him into a post in her company.
They laughed, gisted, and even made jest of how he cried at the car wash.
Rose was already amazed at the greatness of meeting the love of her life.
She didn't know he was coming into her life to crumble her world.
