Chapter 4 - BATTLE AT THE NORTH GATE

"Battle at the North Gate"

The shadow of the Eclipse still covered the sky above Eclipsea The city that was normally bright and lively now looked dark and tense. Guards stood on the walls with weapons ready, watching the forest beyond the northern gate.

Dust rose along the road as Aren, Raikon Blaze, and Kairo ran toward the gate.

The alarm horn continued to echo across the city.

"Move!" Raikon shouted as they reached the stairs leading up to the wall.

When they climbed to the top, the scene beyond the gate became clear.

Creatures made of dark smoke and jagged shapes were crawling out of the forest. Their glowing red eyes shined through the shadows as they moved closer to the city.

Aren tightened his grip on his sword.

"So those are the shadow creatures."

Raikon smiled with excitement.

"They look ugly enough."

Kairo remained calm, studying the enemy movements.

"They're not random," he said quietly. "They're moving together."

Below them, the city guards were preparing to defend the gate.

Captain Darius, the leader of the guards, noticed the three academy fighters.

"You're late," he said.

Raikon laughed.

"We just didn't want to finish the fight too quickly."

The captain didn't look amused.

"Save the jokes for later," he replied. "They'll reach the wall any second."

A deep growling sound came from the creatures as they charged forward.

"Here they come!" a guard shouted.

The first wave slammed against the wooden barricades outside the gate.

Aren jumped down from the wall first.

His blade flashed as he struck the nearest creature.

The shadow beast shattered into black smoke.

Raikon followed, flames bursting from his fists.

A powerful punch sent fire across the battlefield, burning several creatures at once.

"Too easy!" he shouted.

Meanwhile, Kairo moved silently through the fight.

His movements were fast and precise.

One creature lunged at him, but Kairo stepped aside and struck it from behind, dissolving it into shadow.

More creatures continued to emerge from the forest.

The guards struggled to hold the line.

Aren noticed something strange.

"They're not stopping," he said.

Raikon wiped sweat from his forehead.

"You expected them to give up?"

Kairo shook his head.

"No… something is pushing them forward."

Above them, the Eclipse glowed faintly in the sky.

Aren looked up for a moment.

The dark circle seemed to pulse slowly.

Almost like a heartbeat.

Suddenly the ground trembled.

The shadow creatures stopped moving.

For a second the battlefield became silent.

Then something much larger stepped out of the forest.

It was twice the size of the other creatures.

Its body looked like solid darkness, with long claws and glowing red eyes.

The guards stepped back in fear.

"What is that?" one of them whispered.

Kairo's voice was calm but serious.

"The leader."

Raikon grinned again.

"Finally a real opponent."

The giant shadow creature roared and charged toward the gate.

Aren stepped forward, raising his sword.

Raikon ignited his flames brighter than before.

Kairo moved beside them.

The three stood together in front of the city.

Behind them was Astravale.

And under the dark sky of the Eclipse, the real battle was about to begin.
