Monday 10th February, 2025.
Liam sat at the backseat of the school bus staring out the window lost in thought. His mind kept drifting back to the weekend's events and the blonde's words. He didn't necessarily know what training with an archangel would be like but was definitely looking forward to the new lifestyle. The bus soon pulled up by the school gate. It took a snap of the fingers from Kim to redraw the male's attention.
Once off the bus, the raven head finally turned to face his classmate, as they walked past the school gates, "Remind me again why you still take the school bus when your mum is the freaking principal?" At this, the ginger head just shrugged his shoulders claiming he just preferred the bus. "By the way, you never did tell me why you even wanted to buy the villa in the first place. Don't you live solo or something?" Kim inquired.
"I actually just got this new roommate of mine since living alone wasn't really working out for me." Liam explained, hoping the male didn't catch on to the obvious lie.
LIAM
I was seated amidst a group of classmates, mind fully engrossed in the battle royale game infront of me. My fingers continuously tapped on my tablet screen as the rest of my classmates cheered on. "Just a few more shots in and it would be a new world record," "Come on dude, you've got this," "World record here we come." my classmates cheered. The crowd watching gradually increased in number but I couldn't give a damn, since I was practically seated cross-legged on one of the lockers with the only goal of topping the leadership board.
Suddenly the class become silent as a female's voice rang out, "What is the meaning of this?" Did I stop playing, you ask? Hell nah. The only thing between me and the title of world's best player was 10 kills, so there was no way I'd be adding a nagging teacher to that list.
The crowd slowly parted as the teacher stepped forward and stopped right infront of me. "Everyone, take your seats." "All the other students" immediately obliged. All except me, that is. "Mr. Black."
"Just a sec, teach." Only a few seconds, and that title is mine. Three, two, one. Before I could even make the winning shot, my tablet was suddenly snatched from hands, "Hey! What gives, du—" I stopped short when my gaze met that of a furious looking Mrs Kim. Oh fuck.
"Mind finishing that statement?" I just rolled my eyes, got off the table and took my seat at the back of the classroom where Kim was already seated, "Some mum you have there." I grumbled.
The principal then called for our attention and announced the arrival of our class' new substitute following a sudden resignation of our teacher. Just as she was done talking, in walked a tall tanned-skinned maron haired male clad in a formal pale grey-blue long-sleeved t-shirt that clearly outlined his muscles, a pair of black trousers, work shoes, a rolex and an appearance that screamed class!! His green eyes carried warmth though it exuded hidden secrets that were yet to resurface. Who is this guy.
"Class, meet Mr. Zel, your substitute teacher for the rest of the semester. A prominent teacher highly recommended by the board! And Mr Zel, I hope some of the students here won't give you that much trouble for the rest of your stay here." At the statement, I only looked away. Great, guess that's one more teacher that hates me.
"I can assure you, miss, I hardly believe in troubled students; it's always just a little misunderstanding every now and then." The principal nodded and soon exited the classroom.
When I finally turned to face the class, I noticed all the female students were literally drooling over the new substitute. But who could blame them?? The guy was a work of art. A perfect opening for sneaking out for the day.
With a secret flick of the finger, I'd managed to pull down the blinds and accidentally turned on the projector showcasing a documentary on the Mongolian empire. With the class now distracted, I stood up and slowly ~~open~~ and carefully headed for the door, planning on the Hell outta there. But just as I turned the door knob, I felt an arm rest on my shoulder, making me freeze in place.
"Going somewhere, Mr Black?" came Mr Zel's calm and collected voice. I turned to face him and nervously scratched the back of my head, "Just — checking to see if the doorknob's working. I'll get back to my seat now." As I started walking, he suddenly spoke, "You know, when I was your age, I did the same. Try to sneak out of class at every opening. Quite amusing if you ask me. But with time I gradually got to learn that some lessons aren't worth missing. Who knows, you may just stumble upon something valuable." Mr Zel concluded as headed back to the rest of the students.
Not seeing a way out, I reluctantly headed back to my seat.
ADAM
Meanwhile I was perusing through a book on ancient artifacts in the library, but my mind couldn't be any further; it had been a while since I had been in such a good mood in such a long time. My mind drifted to the weekend and I couldn't help but smile to myself. "What's got you in such a good mood this morning, Addy?" a female voice called out making me turn to see ____ slowly approach, arms crossed. Her dyed carnation pink hair glistened in the sunlight that came in through the window, and her blue eyes seemed to widen with curiosity.
really that obvious?"
"You blame me? It's not everyday you walk into a smiling strict So spill it. Who's the girl that managed to steal our/senior's
??" She teased.
Though being Dukespear's deputy president was well-known for her charismatic personality way of relating with the students. But her personal favourite council member was never really a secret. How she and I close, still to this day, I have no idea.
"is no girl, Just, having a nice day. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to take this register to class 3-S." I said, excusing as I headed for the exit, "Don't forget to greet me for me!!"
The bell for the end of the class soon rang. All the students exited the room, full of chatter. Liam was packing his sketchpad about his confiscated tablet to a keenly listening Kim. The two in the doorway but Mr. Zel suddenly called the ravenhead to behind. Kim said they'd continue the conversation after lunch finished up by doing their secret handshake. Liam approached the table, arms crossed and inquired as to why he'd been asked to behind after class. The male took out the previously confiscated tablet handed it to a surprised Liam who carefully examined it.
"My tablet. How did you get it back?"
"my way, though I did notice that you and Mrs Kim seemed to be a bit of tension going on."
"She sorta hates me because she thinks her son is under 'bad' or whatever that shit is."
The green-eyed male couldn't help but chuckle at the ravenhead's annoyance. "Tell you what kid, I'll have a chat with her seeing as I come from way back."
"You know her? Like, really know her."
"More than know, but I rather we keep that our little secret for now. Just don't forget, some answers came from the places we least expect."
Just as the two were midchat, a cleared throat was heard from the doorway making the two turn to see Adam. Liam noticed Adam held back anger and clenched fists, making him raise a brow. "Hey birdbrain, didn't really expect to see you around these parts of the academy." "Just thought I'd check in on you and also hand the register over to your class president." "Park Minho stepped a little while ago, but I think I can catch him in my next class." Liam explained but the blondes gaze stayed focused on the green-eyed male infront of him.
The ravenhead followed the blonde's gaze, noting the sudden tension in the room. He looked between the two, confused: "Um — do you two know each other?" no answer. "Mr Black, we'll continue this conversation if time allows for it seems our fellow senior wants to discuss something." not really catching on to anything, Liam casually left the room, excited at having got his tablet back.
Now alone the blonde finally spoke up. "Explain yourself." his voice carrying a tinge of annoyance. At this the green-eyed male just leaned against his locker as a red apple appeared in his hands. "Explain what? That I finally decided to enjoy a change of scenery? Or decided to experience the entertainment first hand." "What did you tell him?"
"Exactly what he wanted to hear. But do you know what I've learn? That jealousy is definitely your look. Look at you, being all overprotective over a kid. If this is what I'll be seeing for the rest of my stay here, then I might as well extend my stay." he paused, letting his words sink in before continuing, "And as for your question on what I told the kid, that's confidential. But trust me when I say nothing, and I repeat, nothing is ever as it seems." he said, crushing the apples to nothing but black smoke.
Having heard enough the blonde, just frustrated, stormed out, leaving behind an amused Azazel. Now the real fun begins.
