Chapter 5 - The Alpha’s Attention

The afternoon sun hung high above Beacon Hills, casting long shadows across Beacon Hills High School.

Students slowly left the building as classes ended.

Most were thinking about homework, sports practice, or weekend plans.

But for some people in town…

Much more dangerous thoughts were forming.

Aiden Blackwell walked calmly through the hallway toward the exit.

His mind replayed the system mission he had just received.

Join the lacrosse team.

Build influence.

Investigate Derek Hale.

Aiden smirked slightly.

"This is going to be easy."

But before he could leave—

A familiar voice called out behind him.

"Hey! Aiden!"

He turned around.

Running toward him was Allison Argent.

She stopped in front of him, slightly out of breath.

"I finally found you."

Aiden raised an eyebrow.

"Looking for me?"

Allison nodded.

"Yeah… actually."

She hesitated slightly before continuing.

"I'm still getting used to the school… and I was wondering if maybe you could show me around town later."

Aiden smiled faintly.

"A tour guide service?"

She laughed.

"Something like that."

Behind her confident smile, Aiden could already sense something else.

A trained instinct.

The instincts of a hunter.

The Argent bloodline was strong.

But right now she was just a girl who had recently moved to town.

Still unaware of the supernatural chaos surrounding her.

"Sure," Aiden said calmly.

Allison's eyes brightened.

"Really?"

"Why not."

For some reason, talking to Aiden always made her feel comfortable.

Even though there was something mysterious about him.

Something she couldn't quite explain.

Across the parking lot—

Another person was watching them carefully.

Standing near a black car.

His sharp eyes never left Aiden.

It was Derek Hale.

Ever since last night…

Something had been bothering him.

The forest encounter.

The strange supernatural presence.

And now—

That boy.

Derek could smell something unusual.

Not wolf.

Not human.

Something far more ancient.

His instincts were warning him.

That kid is dangerous.

Derek decided to act.

Aiden was just about to leave the school grounds when someone stepped in front of him.

Blocking his path.

It was Derek.

Allison looked confused.

"Uh… do you know him?"

Aiden looked at Derek calmly.

"Yes."

Derek's voice was low and direct.

"We need to talk."

Allison glanced between them awkwardly.

"I'll… wait by the car."

She quickly walked away.

Leaving the two men facing each other.

The atmosphere instantly became tense.

Derek studied Aiden carefully.

Then spoke.

"You were in the woods last night."

It wasn't a question.

Aiden smiled slightly.

"So were you."

Derek's eyes narrowed.

"You're not human."

Aiden tilted his head slightly.

"And you're not subtle."

For a moment—

The air between them felt heavy.

Derek suddenly moved.

His hand shot forward, grabbing Aiden's collar and slamming him against a nearby wall.

The impact cracked the concrete slightly.

"You're going to tell me what you are," Derek growled.

Students nearby gasped and backed away.

But Aiden didn't react at all.

He simply looked at Derek calmly.

"Is that how you greet people?"

Derek tightened his grip.

"You smell like fire… and death."

Aiden's eyes suddenly flickered with orange light.

Then—

A wave of heat exploded outward.

Derek instantly released him and jumped back.

His eyes widened in shock.

For a brief moment—

Aiden's eyes burned like living flames.

"Now you see it."

The heat vanished as quickly as it appeared.

Students around them were too far away to notice anything unusual.

But Derek felt it clearly.

That power…

It was overwhelming.

"You're a Hellhound," Derek whispered.

Aiden straightened his jacket calmly.

"Very good."

Derek stared at him with disbelief.

Hellhounds were incredibly rare.

Even among supernatural creatures.

And the one standing in front of him felt…

Strong.

Much stronger than Derek himself.

"Why are you here?" Derek asked cautiously.

Aiden smiled.

"School."

Derek didn't find that funny.

But he also realized something important.

If Aiden wanted to fight…

Derek probably wouldn't win.

Not right now.

So he stepped back.

"Stay out of my way," Derek warned.

Aiden chuckled.

"That depends."

On what?

Derek didn't ask.

He turned and walked away.

But his mind was racing.

Beacon Hills just became much more dangerous.

A few minutes later—

Aiden returned to the parking lot.

Allison was leaning against her car.

"Everything okay?" she asked.

Aiden nodded.

"Just an old acquaintance."

She looked suspicious but didn't push further.

Instead she smiled.

"So… about that tour?"

Aiden gestured toward his car.

"Let's go."

As they drove through the streets of Beacon Hills, Allison looked around curiously.

The town was beautiful.

Quiet.

Almost peaceful.

But Aiden knew better.

Beneath that calm surface…

Supernatural creatures were already moving.

And soon—

The real enemy of Season 1 would appear.

The Alpha werewolf responsible for the murders in the forest.

Aiden's eyes narrowed slightly.

That Alpha might be my first real challenge.

Then suddenly—

DING!

The system activated again.

[New Mission]

Objective:

Defeat or capture the Alpha Werewolf

Reward:

• 2000 System Points

• Rare Bloodline Skill

Warning:

Target is extremely dangerous.

Aiden smiled slowly.

"Now that sounds fun."

Next to him, Allison glanced over.

"What?"

Aiden shook his head.

"Nothing."

But deep inside—

The Hellhound within him was already excited.

Because soon…

A powerful hunt would begin.
