Chapter 112 - Chapter 112: The Reformation of the Disputed Lands (Final Part)

Essos, The Disputed Lands, Dragonfire Basin

"Our forces have secured every strategic point across the Stepstones. Those waters no longer belong to pirates or merchants—they belong to us."

Tyrion Lannister stood in the center of the pavilion, his shadow casting a long, jagged silhouette against the silk walls. The announcement hit the room like a cold gale. The Tyroshi exiles, who had pinned their hopes on a maritime retreat or Myrish reinforcements, felt the air leave their lungs.

"No wonder Harris never arrived..." "Our fleet... gone?" "I heard the Lysene were seizing hulls, but to think they'd move this fast..."

Yaarl Gira, the last blue-bearded governor, felt his world tilting. Without the sea, the coalition was a corpse waiting for a grave. They had three paths: surrender, a suicidal last stand, or throwing themselves at the mercy of Myr or Lys.

"You... you aren't afraid?" Yaarl snarled, his noble composure finally shattering into raw, jagged desperation. "We could take you here. Right now. We could squeeze the life out of you and force your rabble to retreat!"

Tyrion's expression remained terrifyingly neutral. "Do you really think I'd walk into a nest of vipers without a suit of steel beneath my leather, Yaarl? Or a sword at your throat that you cannot yet see?"

Yaarl staggered, looking toward Byron John of Myr for a shred of support.

"Myr... Myr is Tyrosh's greatest ally," Byron wheezed, his breath rattling in his chest. "We will not permit this outrage!"

"Myr's loyalty is a fickle thing," Trig Omorren of Lys interrupted, leaning back in his seat with a predatory grin. "Because while you were drinking old wine, Myr's 'The Chainbreakers' faction already signed a pact with us. If anyone touches the Imp, the Stepstones fleet will turn your harbor into a bonfire."

"We are high-born Tyroshi!" Yaarl shrieked, rallying the remaining nobles. "We will never bow! We will fight until the Basin runs red with—!"

"You represent no one but your own appetites," Tyrion cut him off. "Don't you wonder how I found this camp? How I knew exactly which commanders were wavering?"

Tyrion looked toward a few dark-armored figures at the edge of the tent and gave a nearly imperceptible nod.

Yaarl Gira's eyes went wide. He scanned the room, looking for the "Chameleon" in his midst.

SCHWING—!

The sound of unsheathing steel erupted outside the tent, followed instantly by the wet, rhythmic thud of blades finding flesh. Screams of guards—the loyal ones—cut through the heavy Essosi air. A Tyroshi soldier burst through the flap, his chest a ruin of gore, before collapsing into the dirt.

The Rise of the First Legion

The flap was torn away entirely. A phalanx of soldiers in high-quality plate and distinctive Lion-Faced Helms marched in. These were the men of the Tyroshi First Legion—the elite, the "Aces" of the city.

"My Lord," the commander of the First Legion announced, bowing to Tyrion. "The perimeter is secured. The leeches have been isolated."

Yaarl Gira fell back into his seat. "Iron Nava? You... you were my sword!"

"Tyrosh is dead," Commander Iron Nava replied, his voice cold and devoid of sentiment. "You made us puppets while you played games in the Purple Palace. Aegon Targaryen offers us a future. You only offer us a slow rot."

Tyrion had gambled on human nature. He knew these professional commanders were tired of serving governors who hadn't seen a battlefield in decades. By promising them rank and purpose in the new order, he had turned the coalition's greatest strength into its executioner.

"You are not Tyrosh," Tyrion said, stepping toward the huddle of panicked nobles. "You are the parasites that bled it dry. Slavery is a cancer, and today, we perform the surgery."

"I don't want to die!" "I surrender! Take my gold!" "Tyrion, please! We can negotiate!"

The high-born exiles who had laughed at the "Little Monkey" were now crawling in the dust. Some tried to hide behind the Myrish Governor, Byron John, but there was no sanctuary to be found.

"Kill the parasites," Nava commanded.

The First Legion moved with clinical efficiency. In a flurry of steel, the old nobility of Tyrosh was wiped out. Blood soaked into the Myrish carpets, and the screams of the exiles were silenced by the very men they had once "owned." Only the bed-slaves, huddled and shivering in the corners, were spared.

"STOP! I COMMAND YOU!" Byron John shrieked, finally finding his voice as the blood neared his boots. "I am a Governor of Myr! You cannot touch me!"

The soldiers paused, looking to Tyrion.

"Lord Tyrion?" Nava asked, his blade dripping.

Tyrion looked at the shaking Myrish lord. Killing him now would be a waste—a martyr for Myr to rally around.

"Governor Byron," Tyrion said, his voice echoing in the blood-stained tent. "You want to protect your 'allies'? Fine. You may go. And you may take the survivors with you."

He gestured to the few minor commanders and terrified nobles still breathing. "Get them out of my sight. Take them back to Myr. Tell your council what happened here. Tell them the Dragon is coming, and he doesn't care about your titles."

As the broken remnants of the coalition were led away in shame, Tyrion stood alone in the center of the carnage. The Disputed Lands were no longer disputed. They were his. And soon, they would be Aegon's.
