The Accident
The rain had not stopped when Maria left the hospital.
She walked slowly across the empty road, her mind still lost in shock.

A bright light suddenly flashed in front of her.
A truck.
The loud sound of brakes echoed through the street.
Maria felt her body thrown forward.
