Chapter 12 - 402

Sabrina's pov

Sabrina's mind swept the arena even as she used a portion of her power to hold her love safely off the ground.

In the stands, Brock's family were only just coming to grips with his loss and subsequent injury. That was going to be a problem as she knew that they'd be freaking out.

Brock was their support pillar and seeing him go down would…

She was drifting. She needed to focus. Already small shakes were occurring with a few highly perceptive people spotting the fluctuations that her power, fueled by her emotions, caused.

She tightened her control. Another might have been ashamed at the lapse in control, but she understood it.

Someone had harmed Brock.

Her mind swept out, perusing the hundreds of people and pokemon that had arrived.

She ignored Galahad. The man had been the one to lay Brock out with that final strike, but he hadn't been the person to set Brock in the way, not like that.

Others would have missed it, but for a millisecond, Brock hadn't existed. His presence within the world had winked out and then back into existence in a manner she'd never felt before.

It had been sudden and final. Nothing like observing someone teleporting away or hiding under a dark aura.

Brock had vanished at a full sprint atop Rhyhorn, lance extended, helmet on, and his shield firmly locked in place.

Then he'd returned, standing still. His helmet, lance, and shield gone, and very clear signs of combat and stress upon his armor.

Most telling was how the armor was singed and blackened like it had been in a great fire.

Prior to that millisecond on nonexistence, Brock had been fine. But there had been another presence, and it was that which she sought out now.

It was elusive, slipping around or punching through her grasp as though perfectly aware of her attempts to drag it out into the light for questioning.

It wasn't all knowing however, as she was corralling it to a point that would allow her to collapse a net of force around it that it wouldn't be able to—

It vanished.

Sabrina growled. One moment more and she'd have had it…

Celebi eh?

She'd remember this sensation, and if it ever presented itself before her, she would avenge Brock for this situation.

"Brock! Brock!" screamed Suzie from the stands, already half over the fence that divided the spectators from the jousters. Her tiny feet perfect for fitting into the linkfence holes.

Flint and Lola were scrambling past their other children to reach her but Sabrina got to her first before she did anything hasty.

"Suzie, he's alright. He's just tired," she projected.

"B-big sis?" Suzie gasped, her mind, childish and undisciplined, splashed emotion and thoughts alike without restraint back into Sabrina's mind.

Sabrina weathered it, more than used to dealing with the younger girls' mind. She was after all her favourite and had spent the most amount of time with her.

Although she'd never had to deal with fear like this flooding out of the girl.

She did not care for it in the least.

"I'm going to take him to a doctor to get him checked over. Can I leave Kirlia with you to look after her? She'll be worried," Sabrina offered.

Suzie gave her a watery smile. "Kirlia won't be," she replied, calling Sabrina out on the lie. "But I'd like that," she continued.

Kirlia popped out of her pokeball and floated to Suzie and picked her up with a kindly smile. She quickly had Suzie folded into a cuddle with the girl sniffling quietly.

Sabrina stepped in to grab Brock in a princess carry assisted by her telekinetic grip. "Rhyhorn," she spoke aloud. "I need you to talk with Alakazam, let him see what happened," she demanded with Alakazam popping himself out.

Rhyhorn, who'd mostly gone forgotten in the wake of Brock being blown off his back nodded weakly looking like he'd betrayed Brock.

"Rhyhorn, whatever happened, I don't think you did anything wrong." She made sure to lock eyes with the young pokemon. "Thank you for bringing Brock back from whatever adventure you both just went on." She directed Alakazam to lead the young pokemon to Bertha to help with nursing it back to good health only to vanish away in a Teleport a moment later.

She and Brock reappeared in front of the emergency desk in Saffron Hospital.

The nurse on the desk snapped to attention and slammed a button without being prompted. From there, questions and answers were traded, and Brock was quickly divested of his armor and clothes.

Slowly, the grip on Sabrina's heart loosened as the diagnosis came back.

Minor burns along his back and arms, heat stroke, exhaustion, and mild whiplash from the last impact he underwent. All treatable, especially thanks to Pryce supplying Indigo hospitals with better burn cream from a herb he found.

When everything was done, Brock was set up in a private suite with only a few monitors on him with the prognosis being to allow him to rest and recover with a few minor treatments, where a chansey would come around to boost him along.

Sabrina nodded, and when everyone else left, she slid into the bed next to him and curled her arms around his chest.

She didn't like how he didn't react to this.

He usually turned slightly, or raised his arm, instead, he just lay there as if … she pushed the bad thoughts away.

For long minutes, she stared at his sleeping face.

"You weren't supposed to go off on those sorts of adventures without me," she murmured, knowing she was being unreasonable, but still unable to stop from speaking the words that bubbled out of her heart.

"If I'm not there, you get hurt… and that hurts me… I'm not going to let this happen again," she vowed quietly.

She had no idea how she'd manage that, but she'd find a way.

♦ Topic: 'Lolololol! Brock gets wrecked by Galachad!

Hattersgonnahat! posted:- Bahahaha! See how he goes flying!

User has received an infraction for this post!

Atalkingcat replied:- Ouch! Brock went night night it looks like… hey. I just started watching it over again… how did Rhyhorn go from a flat-out sprint to basically at a dead stop without any lead-up? And Brock's armour, lance and shield, where'd that go?

Nastiestperson1 replied:- Huh. Hang on there's a lot going on in this video. Is there any other angles of this? What even was this by the way?

Cypherquack replied:- Quack!

Hattersgonnahat! replied:- This was fight knight! Brock tried to be all alpha and win it but he got laid out in the early rounds! Seriously, just watch the video!

Atalkingcat replied:- The video literally supports my theory, something weird is going on! And upon third viewing! What happened to Brock's armor? Where did it go? Did he cross a ghost-type Pokémon or something?

Rainbowpebbleperson replied:- Urgh, I'm glad to see you got at least an infraction for being a hater hatter! Here is a video I took of the event, and it is way, way different! I've posted it here [Link] unedited. Stop it at the twenty point seven minute mark! There's a pokemon I've never seen barreling towards Brock!

Atalkingcat replied:- Who's that pokemon? Trollcat? Care to weigh in?

Nastiestperson1 replied:- Why would you summon them to this chat talkingcat? Just… why?

TrOlLcAtOnLiNe!Xp replied:- Nya! Lolololol Brock got time dunked on! I see what happened! Dabs!

Atalkingcat replied:- Dunno why I expected anything else… for someone that's great at pointing out pokemon you… can be yourself all too easily…

Dogsbody the 2nd replied:- Ouch. Watched both videos. This sport looks intense! Is it still happening in Rota like every weekend? Damn! Is Brock alright?

Rainbowpebbleperson replied:- Yes. I can confirm. What I didn't get on video was Brock being caught by Sabrina and taken to their doctor. He was cleared of any brain injuries or broken limbs but weirdly enough had signs of being in a fire.

Atalkingcat replied:- Was he wearing the armour the entire day?

TrOlLcAtOnLiNe!Xp replied:- Suuuuuuuuui!

Dogsbody the 2nd replied:- what even…. Troll? What? No, I don't want to know what they are supposed to mean. So, watched it for a seventh time and spotted another difference in the space of one second. The Rhyhorn has battle damage like it fought a fire type! See the soot on its body?

Waterloverthree replied:- Owwie! Sadge to see Brock get hurt but wow there's some conspiracies popping up cause Brock went down! It happens guys! People lose!

Atalkingcat replied:- I mean, yes, but at the same time… there's some oddities popping up here. You see the videos?

Rainbowpebbleperson replied:- I'm going to ask Sabrina what she saw. She's way more perceptive than… well, pretty much anyone I know.

Hattersgonnahat! replied:- bias much?

Waterloverthree replied:- No, she's not wrong. Sabrina is scary perceptive. Sometimes she knows what I'm thinking before I think it… Like what even?

Atalkingcat replied:- …. I think that might say more about you than her. But I second Sabrina being scary.

Dogsbody the 2nd replied:- Thirded. She did not go easy when I went for my Marsh badge. Took me four attempts!

Rachel narrowed her eyes, considering if she should post anything more, only to shake her head and shift focus to her messaging app. She fired off a few to Rocko, Sabrina. Dennis and others to check in with what was going on.

She also flagged the pokeforum to Dennis and Rocko to look over.

"What are you up to babe?" asked Trixie from the kitchen, where she was blending up a pre/post workout shake.

Rachel glanced up only to drool…. Abs and boobs were a hell of a combination, and Trixie had both.

Trixie stared at her for a moment, only to giggle, which did things both to her body and to Rachel's hindbrain. She strutted up to Rachel only to bonk her on the head.

"Horny bonk!" Trixie proclaimed.

"Ah!" Rachel gasped, clutching at her head in mock pain. "If you don't want me to get lost in lust then wear a bra at least!"

Trixie shot Rachel an amused look, and Rachel coughed, acknowledging that a bra wouldn't do much. It might even make it worse.

"It's your fault cause you're so hot! Alright?" Rachel proclaimed.

Trixie blushed. "Sorry, not sorry?" she replied, and Rachel huffed.

She was about to say something else when her phone rang.

Rachel blinked before answering without the video feature. "Rocko? What's up?"

"Hey, did you mean to link Sabrina into our group chat just now? She got that link you sent, you know?"

It took Rachel a moment to realise what she'd done and what that meant.

"Oh… well, I guess Hatter is about to have a bad life?" she offered up.

Rocko snorted and shook his head. "Riiiight. Well, Brock is fine and having looked through the video, I think something is messed up there. I'll have to ask Brock. He'll know the most."

"Obviously," Rachel replied with a roll of her eyes, only to blush when she realised that Rocko wouldn't have seen that.

Which… She stuck her tongue out at him and grinned to herself when Trixie snorted and choked a little on her shake.

"Huh, sounds like Trixie's choking on something. I'll leave you to that. Enjoy. Talk soon, later," Rocko teased, only to hang up quickly.

Rachel blinked slowly, only to blush as she realised that Rocko of all people had just teased her and Trixie.

For a long moment, Trixie and Rachel sat in their shared kitchen, blushing.

Then they shared a look, and without comment, made their way to the bedroom.

Jessie stared at her transceiver. "Some random knight knocked him out?" she asked.

"No!" Meowth denied only to tilt his head. "Well, yes, but the thing is that it's rotten ten ways to an Exeggcute! Brock is a tough guy, but there are a bunch of things that aren't stacking up."

Jessie gave Meowth her attention while James continued to play around with Growly, pretending he wasn't paying attention when it was clear he was. His whole left arm was being chewed on at this point.

"Hmmm, alright, so Brock got set up? Or he was part of this? For what reason, and more importantly, does it matter?"

Meowth's mouth hung open as he raised a claw to make a point, only to pause. A slow creaking noise emerged instead of words, and he slowly shut his mouth.

"I guess not?" he confessed after a few moments. "If Brock's alright, we're good."

"Actually, it's not like we're beholden to just Brock anymore. The Guardian organisation is bigger than just Brock and we also have the occasional jobs sent our way through Professor Oak," James pointed out.

"Ahem! I think you mean, I get the occasional job! You two are just my assistants on that!" Meowth pointed out with a smug grin.

The human pair of the trio rolled their eyes. "Yes, yes, cream, one sugar, hold the coffee unless it's going to be a long call," Jessie repeated.

James didn't say anything as he was lost in thought. The other pair ignored him, but Growly was quick to pounce on his playmate's distraction, stealing the ball they'd been playing with and dashing off with it.

James blinked. "What are we doing?"

"We're relaxing," Meowth pointed out. "You know, what you do when you got it as a made-Meowth?."

James shook his head. "No, what are we doing now? Like tomorrow, or what are we building towards?" he asked.

That brought the other two up short, and they shared a look. "Uhmmm, we're waiting for Brock to give us a job or the Guardians to do that, I suppose?"

"Why wait?" James suggested. "What if we found a job we wanted to do instead?."

"Woah, woah, woah!" Jessie waved her hands to calm things down. "Are you suggesting we… volunteer for work?"

"Shocking I know, but this isn't like Rocket Boot camp. If we find, or even create a job that we want to do then… well, the Guardians aren't like Team Rocket. They will probably let us," James stated.

Meowth nodded. "Yeah, it's not like they're going to want us to just keep messing with the twerps after all."

That had everyone humming in thought.

"So, what do we want to do?" James asked after a few minutes of silence.

This caused another round of awkward silence as the group realised they'd never dug this deep into their motivations.

Jessie coughed into her fist to show she wanted to speak. "Well… I want us to stay together!" she announced with a slight blush only to power on before she risked getting teased. "I think we're a highly effective team when we're all together! We cover each other's weaknesses and bring a lot to the table with other skills as individuals! So…" she pointed at James and Meowth. "Want to… prepare for Trouble?" she finished slowly.

The boys smirked at her before adopting cool poses.

"And make it double!" they said together before snorting with laughter.

With her face aflame Jessie stepped forward with her fists raised, more than ready to wallop both of them, only for them to raise their hands in mock surrender.

"It's fine Jessie, it's just… that was never in question! You're stuck with us!" James declared.

Meowth nodded. "Yup! Worse than Shelders and Slowpokes I'd reckon! No back steps in this evolution!"

Jessie let out a small breath of relief before stepping up and lightly punching them both in the stomachs to show she wasn't impressed with how they had messed with her. "Jerks!" she growled only to sit with her back slightly to them.

The other two moved to sit next to her, leaning in to share a moment.

"Sooooo," Meowth eventually said. "Want to get tacos?"

The other two nodded, and they headed off, feeling like everything was right in the world.

Right up until James recalled that they still had no idea what they were doing or where they were going from here.

Thankfully, deciding what to do came easier with full stomachs and hearts.

"Let's apply to go to the Trinity nations!" suggested Meowth. "Go where no Indigoan has gone in a generation! We'd make good forward scouts, plus I reckon we'd make it rich!"

Jessie and James nodded at that with James writing it down.

"Still haven't gone to Hoenn," pointed out Jessie, earning yet more nods from James and Meowth.

James rubbed his chin. "We could…. Hmmmm," he considered it for a while. "The Guardians had something about that new tribe and a forgotten region? That could be interesting?"

Meowth and Jessie made faces. "Yeeeeeeeah, no," they both said as one.

James blinked. "What?! I supported both of your ideas!"

Meowth coughed. "See, the thing is. If we integrated with them Smasher folk, then we wouldn't have access to toilets, showers, or other perks. We'd be off the grid which means no access to Fashion Weekly."

James made a small noise of comprehension. "So? Trinity nations or Hoenn?" he asked.

Meowth and Jessie locked eyes. "Flip for it? Tails I win, heads you lose?" suggested meowth.

"Nice try! I'm not falling for that… again!" she snapped back. "Tails I win, while you get heads!" she bit back."

James dutifully looked into his wallet only to cough at the wad of pokebills he had. "Anyone else got a coin?" he asked, earning a groan from the other two.

"Stop not accepting change James!" Jessie growled as she slapped a fifty pokecent on the table.

Ducking his head James raised the coin. "So which was which?" he asked to clarify.

"Heads, Trinity Nations, Tails, Hoenn," replied Meowth as he locked eyes with Jessie.

James nodded and dutifully flipped the coin .

It spun through the air and they watched it. It spun end over end, with the first Elite Four of the Indigo League on one side while her Gengar flashed its backside on the other.

The coin spun over and over only to settle with a clink and twirl.

It wobbled from side to side for a moment only to then go perfectly still.

On its edge.

The trio stared at the coin.

"Is this a sign?" Jessie asked.

"No?" Meowth replied as he shot small puffs of air from his mouth at the coin.

Seeing this, Jessie replied in kind.

James pinched the bridge of his nose and flicked the coin again, causing it to twang off the wall of their booth and bounce back onto the table where it landed on—

"Yoink!" cried a girl as she dashed past their table, running away with the coin in her hand.

The trio stared after her, shared a look, and then as one, rose and gave chase.

"Give back our money brat!" they roared.

The girl screamed and ran harder, holding the small coin over her head. "What the hell? It's just fifty pokecents!"

The group quickly cornered her, only for the flashing blue and red lights of a passing Officer Jenny to have them throw themselves against the wall due to a trained reflex.

"Nothing to see here!" James laughed.

"Just passing through!" agreed Jessie.

"Innocence is my middle name!" chimed Meowth.

Jenny raised a dubious eyebrow at them before glowering at the girl. "Well, I for one very much doubt everyone in this alleyway is innocent, wouldn't you say little sister?" she growled, pointing towards the girl who sighed and tugged off the beanie from her head to reveal that she was a carbon copy, a smaller version of Jenny.

"Sorry, I just wanted to live wild and free," she muttered. "It was just fifty pokecents."

"Which isn't worth writing up and you know that!" growled the Officer. "Now give them back their money, apologise, and let's go talk to Mum and Dad!"

The girl grumbled as she handed James the coin, only for him to fumble it and it to land, head side up. The girl glowered at them as she stalked past and onto her sister's bike.

The Officer sighed. "Sorry about her. If you come around Harlow's bar later, I'll shout you all a drink to make up for her antics!" she offered before tearing away.

The trio nodded, eyes locked on the coin.

Jessie was the first to speak. "What were we flipping on again?"

The other two rubbed their chins in thought, having forgotten themselves in the thrill of the chase.

It wasn't until dinner with the trio, eating their meals and drinks at Harlow's bar, that Meowth remembered and perked up. "Ha! That coin flip! I remembered what it was about just now! It was to decide where we were going! Trinity Nations here we come!" he crowed.

James smirked. "I hear you can fight your way into becoming a noble in one of the nations."

"I hear they have different healing pokemon in another!" Jessie chimed back.

For the formerly Team Rocket trio, the future looked bright.

____________

Samuel Oak slowly flipped through a notepad. It wasn't very big, nor was it grand in any way.

Despite that, it felt heavy in Oak's hands.

Heavy and fragile in the way that only priceless things that carry importance could be.

It had been… decades since he'd truly looked through his old notepads. It wasn't due to forgetting they existed. He'd made sure to keep a meticulous record of his notepads throughout his life.

Surviving a war did tend to make him a tad more eccentric about keeping his notes organised and safe.

Still, this notepad was special in a way he couldn't put to words.

He leafed through it, eyes catching on old images of his Charmander, then his Weedle and Caterpie, the latter pair having long passed from this life. Sam liked to think that perhaps they might have been taken up by Agatha, or another Ghost trainer but he had no true idea what came next.

He wondered now… if he asked Brock…

He chuckled to himself. "Ah, look at me, still wondering what my old mentor might do in this instance." It had been something of a revelation to him to see the shield on Brock's arm.

He'd never really considered how the Boulder badge might present itself on a shield before but to see it there… it had suddenly caused old memories to resurge from a time when he was much younger, and more naive.

Sam paused on the drawings he'd done of Daisy. He touched the page like it might break if he wasn't careful.

Was it truly only after losing the Bulbasaur egg to Daisy that he started to win every match? Samuel laughed, recalling how his family had been wroth with him at first, thinking he'd been swindled by Sir Boulder into making it easy for Daisy despite that never happening.

Then his egg had hatched, and Dratini had emerged. They'd been stunned into silence at this turn of events.

Sam had capitalised on this moment of hesitation by stepping forward to offer the pokemon his hand to sniff and a smile to reassure the newly hatched pokemon.

The rest, as they said, was history. He'd needed to be hidden away for quite a while lest the Blackthorn Clan discover that he had the egg. He'd been given all the resources his family had and all the support they'd denied him.

It had made a world of difference for when times got tough.

Which they had.

Sam stroked the old image of Daisy, glaring back at him with her wartortle and nothing else.

It had been a surprise to her family that after hatching Bulbasaur's egg she'd journeyed back to Mt Moon to acquire a Clefairy for her team.

Sam chuckled, recalling how even back then, Dratini had wanted to avoid ever facing Daisy's Clefairy, instead being more than happy to face off against Wartortle while Charmander faced the seemingly easier foe.

The next turn of the page showed Brock… in his Sir Boulder persona, resting against a tree while Celebi, a pokemon he'd encountered again but a few weeks after hatching Dratini.

Only the situation had been entirely different with Ash there helping him to face off against a foe who'd taken after Celebi with a dogged persistence that had seen Sam thrown forward in time. That had perhaps been the first clue that something had been more than met the eye with Sir Boulder, but he'd never had a true thread to pull on… until Brock appeared holding a shield.

Samuel sighed. It was water under the bridge now. Or was it? He had as a young man encountered reports of Sir Boulder in Pewter and even Bark Town at the end of the war… but was that still to come or…

Sam shook his head and carefully shut the book, making sure to reseal it in its vacuum-sealed bag and filing cabinet before he tapped a pokeball to release his Alakazam.

"I think that's enough moping about," he said, allowing his mind to be read by the powerful psychic type to inform him of what had happened along with how things had been confirmed with the recent events at the Fight Knight.

Alakazam gaped at him. "Zam?" he questioned.

Sam chuckled. "I was just as surprised. It seems there is more to this world than we know!" he replied with relish.

Alakazam nodded thoughtfully before levitating and tapping Sam with a spoon. The pair Teleported to the Saffron hospital where the receptionist jolted and gave them both a quick look over only to relax.

"Purpose of your visit?" she asked.

Sam smiled. "I'm here to visit an old friend!" he announced with a chuckle.

When the woman blinked at him. "Hmmm, we don't have any senior citizens in at the moment, Professor Oak," she replied, her gaze dropping such that she didn't witness Sam twitching in agony as her words landed a critical hit to his spirit.

Alakazam gave a quiet chuckle as Sam dusted himself off. "Ah, I meant Brock of Pewter City. I believe Sabrina delivered him here?"

"Oh! Yes, I suppose that makes sense, you would interact a lot wouldn't you?" mused the nurse before directing him to Brock's room. He silently accepted the jab at his old age while getting the directions to Brock's room.

When he knocked on the door, it swung open without a word and Sam stepped in only for Sabrina to lock eyes with him first.

She was positioned around Brock like a protective dragon. "What do you need?" she all but growled.

Sam gestured to a nearby chair meant for visitors. "May I?" he asked and when she nodded tightly he sank into it with a sigh.

He took a moment to compose his mind for what he needed to say before speaking. "I thought I'd make myself available to Brock when he woke up. I imagine he might have some questions about how things went for him and I… well I had a question or two myself," he offered.

Sabrina raised a singularly unimpressed eyebrow at that, and the door started to swing open in invitation.

Sam chuckled. "May I tell you a story about a young boy who was saved multiple times over by a gallant knight?"

Rather than respond, Sabrina considered him for a long moment before eventually inclining her head slightly.

"Very well," Sam said carefully as he began to weave his rather unbelievable tale to Sabrina. He had no doubts that Brock would be sharing his side of the tale soon enough, but it was best all parties were read into the situation as it were.

As he retold his side of the story, he couldn't help but draw out a notepad idly to begin sketching the room with Brock asleep while Sabrina curled around him.

When Sam's story was done, Sabrina stared out the window without saying a word for a few minutes.

"He's starting to rouse," she offered, and sure enough, Brock slowly blinked awake.

The first thing he locked eyes on was Sabrina and Oak watched as Brock's face split into a smile.

"Good morning, love," he offered.

Sabrina leaned down and kissed him without a hint of shame. When she drew back she held his gaze. "It's almost evening, and you are in the hospital Brock."

Brock glanced around blearily. His gaze sweeping over Sam, and the room before coming to rest on Sam. "So I am… you here for question time?" he asked carefully.

Sam smiled. "And to hopefully offer some answers," he replied.

Brock groaned as he shifted. "Well, first things first. Let's slow it down and get me something to eat and drink," he said.

Despite himself, Sam chuckled.

He really had lucked out with Brock as his mentor back then. Then again, luck had nothing to do with it. He really would have to make more efforts to drop off tribute to Celebi in thanks for sending him the help he'd needed back then.

___________

Blaine checked the readings on the gauges for a second time only to find they hadn't shifted at all.

"Test failure," he remarked, causing the subject that was being examined to flinch. "Terminate the subject," Blaine continued.

The geodude growled and attempted to throw itself at Blaine, only to be intercepted by an intense wave of fire that burned white hot.

The flames kept up for a few seconds, and when they died away, the charred corpse was revealed, but Blaine had already turned and marched to the next room to check the response.

This continued for several more rooms before he marched out of the research wing, vexed by the results. "Still no response from higher electrical readings. I was certain that we'd be able to speed the process up with higher charges…" he muttered.

The sound of hooting and hollering made him pause near the doorway leading into the communal mess hall.

He would never deign to enter that area, as it was for the rabble of the organisation, but something said caught his attention and held it.

"—heh! Thought he was all hot shit with that Tyranitar helmet but it got sent flying!" giggled one of the women.

A memory of fighting a Tyranitar helmeted knight rose to the forefront of his mind. He hadn't considered it in years. Even still, he found himself entering the room and causing a collective flinch from everyone.

"Sir Blaine, Sir!" barked the security team while the lesser lab attendants tripped over themselves.

Blaine ignored them and approached the group that had a video of all things on the table before them. The video played in a loop and Blaine found himself staring.

"Well," he mused slowly as he spotted the inconsistencies.

Without having to try more than twice, he paused the video perfectly at the moment Celebi appeared, revealing itself in all its glory.

"Aren't you a blast from the past?" he murmured to himself.
