Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:Caster Gilgamesh

"Zorm"

"Zooom"

The sound of the engine echoed in the silent corridor, the visible universe just merely outside from this massive space ship. Cloud knights silently marching, their unwavering gaze tore through the stillness of the vast expansion of space.

In this corridor, one room was there. The door was decorated by a red fox, upon looking inside this room, a beautiful foxian woman was sitting on her bed. Her delicate skin, brown hair and fading red tips, sleeveless brown dress accented with white and red, which is cinched at the waist by a vibrant red sash and a large golden floral clasp.

Her name is Tingyun, an Ambassador of Whistling Flames merchant guild. She works in the Sky-Faring Commission of Xianzhou Luofu. Her commission is to deliver materials and supplies to certain planets.

"Hm~" She hummed, her emerald eyes darting between the lists. Fingers brushing to the piling papers.

"The next stop should be at the Nexus Planet, and their commission pacts are at section 15; Foods and medical supplies." She then took out her phone and began navigating what other commission she needed to revise. Upon finding there's nothing as of right now, she hummed gently before placing it back in her pocket.

After a while, she stood up and stretched her body as the popping sound echoed her room.

"Sigh~ I wanna have a vacation. I hope Madam Yukong will give me a break when I come back to Luofu." She whimpered despite the smile still plastered on her face.

Though she may be a playful little fox, she's also a dedicated fox who works herself to the bone until her customers meet their satisfaction! In short, she just wanted to work until she saved up enough money to retire and live peacefully. How hard will it be, she's been working for decades, and another decade or century wouldn't be that long.

Her playful smile widened, nodding to herself as she flipped her paper fan while scrolling through the forum. The IPC created was indeed amazing, being able to connect multiple people across the universe. As she began to deep scroll, she found a mysterious post that connected to a ritual.

"Magic? Hmm, interesting." She muttered to herself, the look of intrigue in her eyes before tapping the link.

"Draw a diagram and star in the middle, copy the words between the star and start the ritual… huh, this actually works?" Tingyun looked at it like it was in the realm of stupidity, truly, who in the world would do that?

Tingyun asked herself, clearly baffled at the fact that they're gullible to believe such fanatic words coming from the anonymous account.

She sighed heavily and looked at the diagram ritual she had just drawn.

"Of course it's me." She deadpanned to herself.

"Never mind about that, there's no way this is true--or even if it was, I doubt something or someone will answer this mild summon." So she extended her hand in mid-air, and started the incantation.

"Five times the words echo, fill, fill, fill, fill, fill. Once filled, let the circle be complete. Your spirit shall unite with mine, your wisdom shall guide my path. In answering the call of our intertwined fates, If you submit to this vow and this truth, Respond to my summoning.", Upon uttering those words, the diagram suddenly glowed brighter!

"???"

The confusion in her eyes bore through the fact that what she deemed a fanatic and fallacious post– is actually legit!

"Crap–!! I didn't know this was actually true!" She wanted to slap herself but couldn't bring to do it because her hands were already full.

The glow turned brighter by seconds as Tingyun cried out. Nervous and panic took root in her body, like a cat who accidentally got its tail stepped on.

Suddenly the light exploded creating a thick smoke as Tingyun covered her face, footsteps echoed outside and the frantic banging on her door.

"Miss Tingyun, are you okay?! We felt the vibration and why is smoke escaping from the door's gap?!"

"Cough, cough." Tingyun answered with a cough as the smoke started to disperse from her room.

And the door slammed open as cloud knights entered. They took a step forward, yanking her arms towards them before surrounding her.

"Please stay there, Miss Tingyun. An enemy has infiltrated the Starskiff without our notice, so this might be an assassin and failed to take you out, Miss Tingyun." The guard whispered at her, their spear pointing at the shadowy figure.

Tingyun opened her eyes, squinting them due to the smoke still lingers and

"Assassin? What assassin are you talking about–" The words in her mouth freeze, as the shadowy figure slowly took a shape.

Golden hair as if the sun was shining on it, and a bun cloth with horns acting like a crown rested on his head. Open-chested cloth, a red short with a slit on his knee and most of all, the golden gauntlet in his forearm that was holding a stone tablet.

"Everyone! Formation and protect Miss Tingyun at any cost!" The cloud knights pointed their spear at the man who was standing in the middle of the diagram.

"Hiss…" Tingyun suddenly felt a pang of burn on her hand, her amber eyes gaze down and looked at her backhand. There, a three mark slowly took shape into a fox.

"This is..? What is this?" She curiously began wiping it but failed, and a trail of sweat slid down on her head.

"Hm. It seems this place is full of amusement, a fox and a mongrel pointing the weapon at their king?" An arrogant voice bloomed loudly at the room, as a suffocating aura gleaned to the air.

"Is that how you greet your king, mongrel?!" As he said those words, a ripple of space occurred and golden spheres manifested into the world.

1…2…3…no, ten portals opened in the air and golden staffs' heads came out!

"W-what?" The cloud knights held their breath together at the sigh before them, a power they haven't heard of.

Even Tingyun was no exception to this sight! Before they could make a move, the golden staffs' head glowed brightly!

"Brace for impact!" The lead shouted as they snapped out from their track and immediately went to cover but alas, it was all for naught.

"Who ordered you to move?" The man spoke as the staffs fired a golden energy at them at once. The shield that was meant to be blocked– got penetrated and exploded! leaving massive thick smoke.

The smoke immediately blasted away as the cloud knights emerged with wounds and the fox still behind, unharmed.

"Ho? Amazing will to protect what's behind you, mongrel. I applaud your will. But even so, to pay your insolence for pointing a weapon at me, I shall grace you with swift death." The once dead golden staffs, came back to life and energy started to gather at the heads.

"Another one is coming!!" The lead cloud knights once again shouted, bracing themselves to the attack. You might be asking why they aren't fighting back? They're not stupid enough to leave Tingyun behind unguarded. Or even if they leave her with guards, there's no guarantee that this guy won't attack her.

So they could only grit their teeth and hold on, enough to buy time for Tingyun to ask for reinforcement or even if possible, escape.

But just as they waited for the attack to come, a slender arm and brown hair suddenly blocked their view.

"Please hold on, your majesty."

The cloud knights dilated their pupils as Tingyun appeared in front of them!

"Miss Tingyun, it's dangerous–"

"Quiet! You stay there and allow me to talk to him." Tingyun immediately cut him off, she took a glance at the corner of her eyes before eyeing the man in front of her.

She then gracefully bowed and stayed there as she continued to speak.

"Your majesty, I apologize to the crimes they've committed. I do not ask for your forgiveness, but please pardon their crimes."

The air turned quiet as the man did not move nor speak. The gazes from the cloud knights still at them, they could only grit their teeth to their uselessness.

"Hm. So you're the vessel who summoned me, well done. As for your plea, I shall overlook their errors. But know this. This is not mercy, for there will be no next time." The king simply accepted her request, and the golden portal disappeared.

"You may raise your head, mongrel."

"Thank you, your Majesty." Tingyun then took a look at the man.

"Servant Caster, Gilgamesh, at your hand, my vessel. Rejoice, I personally answered your call." Gilgamesh then smirked at her, so Tingyun began clapping her hand.

"What have I done to deserve this?!" Tingyun cried out from inside, clearly scolding herself.

"So–?" Gilgamesh stopped from speaking, his eyes glowed for a moment.

Tingyun upon noticing this curiously glance at him, her amber eyes stared at Gilgamesh who simply stood there unmoving.

"Cloud Knights, you can go now. I'll handle everything here and… make sure not to inform others about this matter, I'll personally explain it to them." Tingyun smiles at the cloud knights who can only nod and drag their body back to the medical staff.

"Understood, please call us if anything happens, Miss Tingyun."

"Alright, make sure to rest properly." Tingyun answered as she gazed at the Cloud Knights' back, before looking at Gilgamesh.

"Is something wrong, your majesty?" She asked, waiting for Gilgamesh to respond.

"Fuhahahaha!"

Tingyun flinched at the sudden bursts of laughter, she looked at Gilgamesh's amusement smirk.

"Who would have thought I'll personally get summoned outside from my garden, hahaha! Truly, what an amusing world." Gilgamesh finally stopped his laughter, then shifted his gaze to Tingyun.

"Vessel, I'm in a great mood right now, I'll allow you to speak and introduce yourself. While you're at it, I expect from you to not leave a single knowledge amiss." Thus Gilgamesh began walking, leaving Tingyun flabbergasted.

"W-wait, your majesty!" Tingyun called out and began catching up from behind him.
