Chapter 4 - Fracture in the Timeline

As they stayed for few days in the village, she found herself leaning on Hero more than ever. One evening, under a canopy of stars, she realized she was falling for him—not just as a protector, but as the man who had been her anchor through every storm. "I don't care about the mall, Lucky," he whispered. "I only care about finding out why we're both here." They were unaware that the stars were aligning and their destiny got them in Kaalmayi.

As Mahakaal alignment occurs, that comes on every 100 years. Lucky and Hero were awake when a sapphire light erupted from the Kalachakra, vibrating the very earth beneath the cottage. The watch was activated on Mahakaal. It wasn't a choice; it was a summons. The light became a cyclone, tearing through the fabric of present time.

Lucky felt her soul stretch until she thought she would break. When she opened her eyes, the smell of humid rain was replaced by the scent of burning oil and rosewater. The ruins were gone.

The palace of Kaalmayi stood tall, vibrant, and terrifying.

In the chaos of a palace raid, soldiers spotted them. "Trespassers!" Hero was pulled into the lower cellars by a man with grease-stained hands named Shaurya, a watchmaker. While Lucky was snatched away by a woman with tear-filled eyes—Malli, the Queen's loyal maid, who saved her in the beginning with her husband Vasu.

Later Vasu wrote a book, which was found by Lucky.
