Chapter 1 - Procjecy/Prologue

PROCHECY

In the shadowed depths of the Mountains, where mist wraps the ancient trees and whispers weave through the hollows, a prophecy stirs among the creatures of the wind. Two sisters shall rise from the hidden peaks of mist- The oldest, cloaked in the purest white like First-Drop's powder, her eyes sharp as the northern stars; and the youngest, draped in a tapestry of white, gray, and black. Together, they shall walk the paths where no other beast dares walk, guardians of a secret as old as the mountains themselves. The oldest, with the wisdom of storms, will guide with quiet strength, the youngest, with the glimpse of dawn, will bring light. When the moon turns silver twice in one sky, and the mountain winds carry a voice not heard for a hundred years, the sisters will unite to protect the heart of the mountain. Their paws will tread where rumors and legends merge, revealing truths that only the brave can see. Through their bond, the mountain shall find balance-the dance of shadow and light, the harmony of past and future, whispered forever in the wind and carried in the hearts of those who dare listen. So it is spoken, so it shall come to pass: the white and the gray, the storm and the dawn, together as one, the sisters of the mountains wilderness; shall reveal the secrets.

PROLOGUE

The late afternoon was painted in hues of orange and purple as Liora bounded forward. Her tail twitched with impatience. "Omen, hurry! Mother said the New Cloud will be even brighter in this cycle than last season!"

Omen, a slightly larger cub with a more solemn demeanor, was trailing Liora behind, carefully navigating the uneven terrain the mountain had to offer. "Careful, we don't want to trip and miss the celebration entirely. Besides," she added slyly, "Mother said the longer we take, the more berries she'll save for me." Liora stopped in her tracks, her ears flattened at Omens' words.

"That's not fair! You're the one who got more last time." She batted playfully at Omen's flank as her sister caught up.

Their journey continued through a pine grove. The scent of pine needles and damp earth filled the air, a welcome change from the dusty trails back at their home.

Liora, always getting off track, paused to see if she could scent anything. "Rabbit," she declared, "and fresh."

"Leave it be, we need to cross the Star River still to get to The Lands in time."

"But I'm starving!" Liora winced.

Omen sighed, paying no attention to her sister. They finally reached the river, wading through the tides carefully, not trying to be swept away, missing the whole celebration just trying to save one another. By the time they reached the hills, climbing them, all they could see was a vast open land, but no cat in sight.

Omen and Liora looked at each other before Liora spoke, "Where is every cat? Where are the Highwatchers or Pathrunners? It's like every cat disappeared."

But then they both repeated the same words, "Maybe they did disappear."
