Chapter 7 - Beginning

As the years went by, a delusional four year old was replaced by an even more delusional fifteen year old.

"Father, I demand you forge me a sword." Arthur requested. The request had become something of a ritual over the years.

He was currently shoveling down his breakfast at a concerning rate, not stopping to fully swallow before talking.

Higari breathed in heavily. "For the thousandth time Arthur, I will NOT be handing an uncertified teenager a sword."

Arthur frowned. "Verily, It is my right as knight to wield a sword that befits my stature."

"You can't just throw in verily like that. That's not how its used."

"So you will make the sword?"

"No."

"I see."

The shoveling continued.

The boy then got up. "I shall be leaving for school then, father. Have a good day."

Despite his annoyance, a smile broke onto Higari's face. "You too, Arthur."

On the route to Somei Private Academy, every day without fail, passersby would see a boy sprinting to school. He sported shaggy blond hair and startling blue eyes. Anyone who looked at him from afar would assume he was a calm, collected and intelligent individual. Those who got to witness his sprints regularly came to realize the only thing he collected was delusions of grandeur.

In his pockets were four vials filled with flakes of metal mixed in fish oil. Along with them, he stored far more coins than anyone in their right mind would ever walk around with. No one knew for certain WHY he carried them. No one particularly cared either. Most would chalk it up to one of the many other strange behaviors the boy frequently displayed.

Arriving at the school gates, Arthur spotted his classmate Tenya Lida.

"Greetings Arthur! Perfect uniform as usual." The boy greeted him with a stiff but genuine smile.

"Hello to you too, Tenya. Give my regards to Sir Ignium for me."

"I must once again remind you that my brother is not an actual knight-"

Before he could finish his sentence, Arthur had already ran off to his class.

"Are you sure about this?" Arthur's career advisor asked once again.

"Of course."

The lady rubbed her brows. "Well, your grades certainly pass the threshold, if only barely."

Arthur nodded.

"But you do realize simply passing isn't enough to get into UA? To get into Japan's number one school, you must excel."

Arthur nodded more vigorously. "Excellent. Excellence is among the many things I excel at."

The counselor rubbed her head even harder. "Well off you go then. I'll be sure to register you for the exam."

Out in the hallway, Arthur began talking to himself.

"Today marks the end of my great adventurous middle school journey."

A few of the students unfamiliar with him cast confused glances his way. Most of the students moved on with their day, already used to the sight. Some girls in the crowd focused a bit too hard on the sight. If asked why, they would confidently state they were willing to let a little insanity slide if the face is pretty enough.

"Today also marks the start of my journey as a squire. A knight in training."

"I have been told by Tenya that UA hosts among the strongest and bravest individuals in the realm, and it is only fitting that I receive my training there."

"From this moment onward, I vow to spread the name Great Knight Arthur Boyle through out the realm!"

"QUIET DOWN BRAT!" The counselor screeched, slamming open her door and poking her head out. "THERE'S OTHER STUDENTS HERE."

Arthur quickly began briskly walking away. Even a knight knew to pick his battles wisely.
