Chapter 2 - The Price of Greed

The air inside the sedan was cold, smelling of expensive leather and something metallic, like a fresh circuit board. Aryan sat stiffly, his heart hammering against his ribs. The mysterious man in the coat remained silent, staring out the window as the car glided through the deserted streets of the city.

"Who are you?" Aryan's voice cracked. "Where are you taking me?"

The man didn't turn. Instead, he pointed at Aryan's phone. The screen flashed.

TASK 01 STATUS: SUCCESSFUL.

REWARD: $5,000 DEPOSITED.

Suddenly, Aryan's phone vibrated with a real banking notification. His eyes widened. "Account XX42 credited with $5,000.00." His breath hitched. That was more money than he had earned in the last two years combined. This wasn't a prank. It was real. Terrifyingly real.

"The first task was simple," the man finally spoke. His voice was deep, sounding like two stones grinding together. "Getting in the car shows you have the courage to chase greed. But the next task... that will show if you have the soul to survive it."

The car came to a halt in front of a high-rise building—the Central Data Bank. It was a place where the city's most sensitive digital records were kept.

"Why are we here?" Aryan asked, his hand trembling as he gripped his phone.

The mechanical female voice from the app spoke again, chillingly calm:

"Task 02: Enter the basement server room. Insert the 'Black Key' into the main terminal. Time remaining: 15 minutes. Reward: Your overdue rent paid for 10 years. Penalty: Permanent memory wipe of your most cherished person."

Aryan gasped. Memory wipe? His mother. The only person who still believed in him, despite his failures. If she forgot him, he would truly be alone in this world.

"The Black Key is in the glove box," the man in the coat said, his eyes glowing faintly in the dark. "Go. The clock is ticking, Aryan."

Aryan looked at the glowing red timer on his phone. 14:45... 14:44... He snatched the small, obsidian-colored USB drive from the glove box and stepped out of the car. The cold night air hit his face, but he didn't feel it. He was a freelancer, a guy who knew his way around systems and servers, but he had never committed a crime in his life.

Yet, as he looked at the massive glass building, he realized the 'Invisible Contract' knew exactly who he was. It wasn't just giving him tasks; it was using his skills for something dark.

He reached the side entrance. Locked. He looked at his phone, hoping for a miracle. The app screen changed into a digital keypad.

"Inputting override code..." the app whispered. Click.

The door slid open. Aryan stepped into the shadows of the building, his pulse racing. He was no longer just a struggling youth from the streets; he was a pawn in a game that played with lives.

End of Chapter 2 (Cliffhanger):

As Aryan reached the basement door, he heard the sound of heavy boots echoing from the hallway. Security. He looked at the timer: 05:00 minutes left. He was trapped between a prison cell and the destruction of his mother's memories.
