Chapter 6 - Angela Learns Chi

"WoahwhaWAHAHAHAAA!!!"

It was a two-storey tall lobby, all the robbers fell upwards at the same time of the Goat's chant; the lost of balance prompted them to drop their guns, but their guns also fell upwards.

Gravity seemed to have only reversed for them and everything they were touching before the chant; the hostages was still curled up on the ground hugging their heads. Some snuck a peek at the zodiac warrior, but couldn't believe their eyes enough to stand.

"Shit." I muttered, "Is that like, one of my seniors/colleagues?"

"Colleague yes... but senior... uh..." Amelda frowned, her fingers scratched her head.

"Not a senior?"

"Arghhh..." The black-clad robbers weren't knocked out from the two-storey reverse fall. They picked up their guns on the ceiling and aimed.

And the Goat, just ran.

He had lost all his composure and badassery in a split second.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

The Goat dashed with his hands ineffectively shielding from the gunfire raining from above. Nonetheless, he was lucky enough to dodge everything and get to shelter behind the receptionist's desk, where the ceiling was lower.

After a while of catching his own breath, he bolted into a door which knob and lock was already destroyed: the door towards the bank vault.

"Normally zodiac warriors don't act without permission from the specific someone..." Amelda twirled her fingers awkwardly, "So that guy is most definitely also new, like you."

"Wait, doesn't that mean I shouldn't transform either without permission."

"Well, he already broke that rule, you can do it too." Amelda straightened two big thumbs with the largest yet fakest smile.

"Are you too aroused to think clearly?"

"I'm too aroused to think clearly. But come on! It's a newbie! He'll need help!" Amelda gestured to inside the bank.

She has a point, I'm not gonna just stand idle when I have the powers to help. Spiderman thought me that; With great powers, comes great responsibility, right? Well, first, I need to realise my great powers.

I scanned the ceiling, where the robbers were readjusting themselves, and scratching their heads as to what happened and what was currently happening.

Their gravity remained reversed, but that didn't immobilise them. If anything, it gave them the high ground for better aim.

Well done, newbie like me who's apparently a goat.

"How do I even get past this? They'll be raining bullets from above literally?"

"Just transform into a body of water and glide! They can't hurt you with bullets when you're liquid." Amelda answered like it's easy.

"NO ONE MOVES!" A furious yell echoed from inside the bank, it was clearly one of the robbers, commanding their hostages, "NOBODY FUCKING MOVES! WE CAN STILL SHOOT YOU!"

Yeah, I know, goddamn it.

Can't shoot me though; I was outside of their field of vision. Then, I returned to the dark alleyway to retreat from the field of vision of anyone at all.

"I thought we've established the fact that I can't transform into water."

"But you can! You did it this morning! I believe in you!" Amelda clenched her fists with a firm gaze like a cheerleader.

"Wait."

"Yes?"

"Transform into your first form."

"What?"

"The dude, with muscles and stuff."

"Oh! Okay." Amelda lost her colours, melted into blob then reformed into him: that dangerously hot, shirtless adonis, and supposedly the objectively most sexually attractive man possible.

It was impossible not to shrink from sheer intimidation by just looking at him.

My fingertips melted again. Yes!

"YES!" The adonis also cheered, "YOU'RE GETTING WET AGAIN?"

I must've trembled in disgust, "Can you not call it that?"

"What? Does C-17 not use 'wet' for things that have water?"

"Yes, but we use 'wet' for other things too..." I had now lost my two palms to water.

"Ooooooh, I think I somewhat remember now... C-17..."

"Can you... Can you get closer...?" I know he was just the zodiac spirit, but my heart still couldn't stop throbbing violently, and I need it to keep doing that.

"Sure."

He absolutely understood the assignment.

He closed the distance in slow motion, then raised one of his perfectly sculpted arms.

He placed me in a goddamn kabedon.

His bare chest was centimetres away from my face. His straightened arm showed off those perfect muscle structures.

"Your face is turning really red..." He said seductively for some goddamn reason. My head was tilted upwards to the maximum just to look him in the eyes, those deep, blood red eyes.

The melting accelerated, and I lost both my arms in an instant. I was also beginning to shrink shorter; my feet was melting into water too.

"Oh, I see what you're doing."

In just under a minute, my entire body was water; my head was the last to melt. My strategy worked.

Shrinking chi? Easy, and I might do this more often than necessary for reasons.

Once I became a puddle, I spoke without a mouth, but it felt exactly the same: "Turn back to Amelda, now."

"Okay... ... You did it!" Phew, thank god, a feminine voice returned.

Becoming water was a very peculiar sensation, mostly ticklish. For some reason, even though the body of water had no external organs, my vision, my smell, and all other senses stayed the same. Touch was a bit weird, because, well, I was now liquid, I made contact with a lot more surfaces than usual.

"How do I move like this?"

"You don't. You have to fuse with me first."

"Fuse!"

Amelda turned into the same red cloud as the Pomeranian and engulfed me, dissipating soon, but this time, nothing happened to me, I was still a body of water.

Amelda was now a voice in my head, "Try imagining yourself as still a human, and contract the same muscles as you would when you walk!"

Easy enough.

I... what's a good adjective? 'Walk' doesn't feel right. I cascaded out the alley, through the shattered glass walls, then through the bank lobby, passing through the hostages and the confused robber above.

"Yo what's that?" I heard their murmurings on the ceiling.

"I don't know."

"Imma shoot it."

"Wait, what?"

BANG! BANG!

It just felt... ticklish, like I've been poked in the skin gently. The splashes the bullets created just flowed back into the main body in no time.

"What the fuck you doing shooting water?"

"Why the hell not..."

I was already out of range of their conversation, climbing up the receptionist desk, defying all laws of physics before cascading down the other side. Then, I headed for the hallway the Goat had entered earlier.

After seeping past the door slit, I asked, "How do I return to normal?"

"Same thing as this morning."

"Expand... Right..."

I remembered the sensation, and rehearsed. I slowly 'stood up', the body of water squeezed themselves close together to form the shape of me.

Then, skin began materialising from the top to the bottom. Not my normal skin, but my protector form, I was already fused. The transformation back took less than twenty seconds. First thing I did after returning to human form was crack my fingers. Ahh, so glad to have hands back...

"You did it! You're an absolute natural!" Amelda popped out of my ear as a tiny scarlet cloud with a mouth.

"I don't know what else should I do now though..."

I was now stood in a red-carpeted corridor, with unknown doors lining both sides, some open, some ajar, some shut. And on the other end of the corridor, a black-clad robber with a bleeding lip, seemed to be waking up from the ground, surrounded by three assault rifles.

Another black-clad robber with a black eye and a rifle appeared from the corner to check on him, "Hey! Wake up! Wake up!"

"Uhh..."

"Argh..." The previously blacked out robber rubbed himself awake, the first blurry sight he received was me, on the other side of the corridor, "Oh shit, there's another!"

They both immediately reached for their weapons on the floor, raised and pointed.

"Fuck."

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

I dashed into a random door to hide.

"Oh god..."

"COME OUT! FREAK!" The robber outside yelled viscerally, almost fearfully.

The Goat must've done a number on them, how is he a newbie like me? I'm completely losing my shit at the moment.

As I gasped for breath, I scanned the dark office I had ended up in; a victim of the Norwood Reaper was squeezed into a corner, praying, "Please don't kill me, please don't kill me..."

I won't do that, good sir. But those two outside might kill you, and me.

"COME OUT!"

"Just turn into water again, Angela!" Amelda advised.

"Good idea... Sepa—"

"No, don't separate with me yet!" Amelda denied my request suddenly, "It's slower to perform chi techniques when separated with your spirit."

"Well, I can't perform it at all without Jeremiah!"

"Who's Jeremiah?"

"A name I gave to the outrageously hot man form of yours!" I hissed, and the robbers outside seemed to have heard it:

BANG! BANG!

Wooden splinters flew off the door next to me.

"Just imagine him next to you right now! You'll transform faster! Trust me!" Amelda insisted.

"Fine." I shut my eyes; time to, fantasize? This was not what I expected being a superheroine to be like.
