Elena arrived at the small shop where she worked as a delivery rider.
The owner, Mr. Smith, smiled when he saw her.
"Good morning, Elena."
"Good morning, sir."
He handed her several packages.
"Busy day today."
Elena nodded and strapped the delivery bag onto her bike.
Despite her tiredness, she worked quickly and carefully.
Elena was known for two things: honesty and determination.
But her mind kept returning to what Sophia had said earlier.
A job in Ethan Alexander's company.
The name alone made her uneasy.
Ethan Alexander was famous across the entire city.
Young.
Handsome.
And terrifying.
People said he fired employees for the smallest mistake.
Meanwhile, in the tallest building downtown, Ethan Alexander walked through the lobby of his company.
Employees immediately stood up when they saw him.
"Good morning, Mr. Alexander."
He didn't respond.
His cold expression never changed.
Inside his office, a golden nameplate rested on the desk.
Ethan Alexandra —CEO
Lucas, his secretary and longtime friend, entered with a stack of files.
"You have three meetings today," Lucas said.
"Cancel two."
Lucas sighed.
"You know the board will complain again."
Ethan leaned back in his chair.
"Let them."
Lucas shook his head.
"You really enjoy making people afraid of you."
Before Ethan could reply, Lucas' phone buzzed.
He glanced at the message.
"Oh," Lucas said casually. "HR is hiring new staff today."
Ethan didn't look interested.
But Lucas continued.
"One of the applicants caught their attention. Apparently she's hardworking… but poor."
Ethan raised an eyebrow.
"And?"
Lucas smiled slightly.
"Her name is Elena."
Ethan leaned forward slowly.
"Elena… what?"
Lucas checked the file.
"Elena Samuel."
Ethan tapped his finger on the table.
"Bring me her file."
Lucas blinked in surprise.
"You want to personally review a low-level applicant?"
Ethan's eyes turned cold.
"Did I stutter?"
Lucas quickly nodded.
"No, sir."
As Lucas walked out of the office, he muttered quietly to himself.
"Well… whoever this Elena girl is…"
"She just caught the attention of the most dangerous man in the city."
