Chapter 4 - The Omen and The Catastrophe

When Lana woke up hours later, the floor beneath her body felt cold.

For a moment, she could not understand what had happened.

Had it all been a dream?

But the data on the computer was still there.

The light she had seen… had been real.

The next morning, Lana tried to report her discovery to the space research center.

She sent the images and the data, explaining everything she had seen through the telescope.

The response was disappointing.

The modern instruments had detected nothing.

No gate.

No unusual phenomenon.

Doubt slowly began to creep into her mind.

Had it all been nothing more than an optical illusion?

That night, Lana returned to the telescope once again.

She lifted the lens toward the sky.

At first, she saw nothing but the familiar stars.

But after a few minutes…

the light appeared again.

This time, it was not a gate.

It was something else.

A figure standing far away… surrounded by a faint glow.

The being was holding a long device that resembled a telescope.

And it was pointed toward Earth.

Lana leaned closer to the lens.

A chill ran through her body.

That being…

was looking at Earth.

As if it were…

looking directly at her.

At that moment, the visions exploded inside her mind once again.

She saw the glowing forests.

She saw the great wall of light.

Then the images vanished suddenly.

Lana stepped back from the telescope, trying to understand what had just happened.

She whispered quietly to herself,

"Who are you…?"

But the sky remained silent.

The following night, everything changed.

While Lana was reviewing the observatory data, the monitoring systems suddenly detected a massive object approaching Earth.

An asteroid.

But this was no ordinary meteor.

It was a colossal celestial body moving directly toward the planet.

At first, governments tried to calm the public.

But the truth became clear very quickly.

There was no way to stop it.

Lana stepped outside the observatory and looked up at the sky.

The light was already visible on the horizon—

a long line of fire cutting through the atmosphere.

The sky had become a sea of flames.

And then something strange happened.

The light she had seen before appeared once again.

The gate.

But this time it was not distant.

It was opening above the world itself.

Lana felt time slowing down.

The air became silent.

A white light began to surround her.

Then she heard something inside her mind.

It was not a human voice.

It was something deeper… more ancient.

A presence that seemed to say:

"Crossing is not the end."

Moments later, the asteroid struck the Earth.

The entire planet trembled.

A wave of fire rose across the continents.

Within hours, Earth became a world of ash.

Human civilization vanished.

But at the heart of that catastrophe…

Lana closed her eyes.

Her consciousness did not die.

Instead, it was drawn toward the light—

toward the gate.

A moment passed…

Or perhaps thousands of years.

And while the world of humanity disappeared…

another story of life was preparing to begin somewhere far away.
