Sebastian didn't knock.
The door simply opened with the kind of controlled certainty that didn't ask permission from anything or anyone. I was still sitting upright on the bed when he stepped in, closing it behind him with deliberate calm, as though he had all the time in the world and I was simply another appointment he had scheduled between more important matters.
His eyes landed on me immediately.
No greeting. No courtesy. Just a long, assessing stare that made my skin tighten beneath it.
For a few seconds, neither of us spoke.
Then he finally moved further into the room, slow and measured, stopping only when he was close enough that I had to tilt my head slightly to keep him in view.
"You've been busy," Sebastian said at last, his voice even.
