Chapter 6 - The First Day of the Trial

The ocean had returned to silence.

But the memory of the Leviathan's roar still echoed across the newborn world.

On the shore where the disciples had confronted the ancient guardian, the waves rolled slowly again, as if nothing had happened.

Yet everyone knew the truth.

The trial had begun.

Seven days.

Seven days to prove that civilization deserved to exist.

And if they failed…

The Leviathan would erase everything.

On the temple mountain, hundreds of primitive beings gathered before the glowing stone structure of the Temple of Origin.

Fear spread through the crowd.

"Will the ocean monster really destroy the world?"

"What if we fail?"

"We cannot fight something that large…"

The murmurs grew louder.

Then the first disciple stepped forward.

His voice echoed across the mountain.

"Silence."

The crowd slowly quieted.

"The Creator has not abandoned us."

All eyes turned toward the sky.

High above the world, Ang watched through the system windows.

Population: 96

Civilization Stability: 14%

Ang rubbed his chin.

"They're nervous."

The system window updated again.

Trial Condition Active

Remaining Time: 6 Days 23 Hours

"Good," Ang said softly.

"Pressure builds civilizations."

Back on the mountain, the disciple continued speaking.

"We have been given a chance."

"A trial."

"Seven days to prove that life can protect this world instead of destroying it."

He raised his arm toward the horizon.

"We must stabilize this planet."

"We must build."

"And we must grow stronger."

Another disciple stepped forward beside him.

"The Creator has already shown us how."

He pointed toward the land around them.

"This world is unstable. Storms, earthquakes, energy fractures."

"If we repair the planet, we prove our value."

A small creature in the crowd raised its hand nervously.

"How do we repair a planet?"

The disciples looked at each other.

Then the leader smiled slightly.

"We start small."

High above them, Ang leaned closer to the system display.

Civilization Development Rate: Increasing

"Good," he murmured.

"Now let's see if they can think."

The leader turned back toward the crowd.

"We divide our efforts."

He pointed in three directions across the continent.

"The northern plateau is unstable with storms."

"The eastern valley suffers constant earthquakes."

"And the southern forest burns with chaotic energy."

He raised three fingers.

"Three regions."

"If we stabilize all three, we stabilize the world."

The crowd slowly began nodding.

One follower stepped forward.

"I will go north."

Another followed.

"I will help the valley."

Soon dozens volunteered.

The disciples quickly organized them.

Three large groups formed.

Above the planet, Ang smiled.

"Exactly what the system wants."

The interface appeared again.

Task Update

Planetary Stabilization Progress: 0 / 3 Regions

Ang stretched his arms.

"Let the game begin."

The Northern Plateau

The northern group traveled across rocky plains until the land slowly rose into a massive frozen plateau.

Violent storms spun across the sky like giant spirals.

Lightning constantly struck the ground.

"This place is dangerous," one follower whispered.

The disciple leading the group nodded.

"Which means it is important."

He looked toward the storm clouds.

"These storms are created by unstable energy in the ground."

Another follower frowned.

"How do we fix that?"

The disciple knelt and placed his hand on the frozen earth.

"By guiding the energy."

He closed his eyes.

A faint glow spread from his hand.

The others immediately understood.

They formed a circle around him.

Creation energy slowly flowed into the ground.

At first nothing happened.

Then the wind began slowing.

The storm clouds shifted.

Lightning strikes became weaker.

Hours passed.

Finally the sky began clearing.

A follower gasped.

"The storm is stopping!"

Far above the planet, Ang saw the system notification appear.

Region Stabilization Progress: 1 / 3

Ang smiled.

"That was faster than expected."

The Eastern Valley

Meanwhile the second group reached a deep valley filled with rivers and constant earthquakes.

The ground shook every few minutes.

One follower nearly fell when another tremor struck.

"How do we build anything here?"

The disciple leader looked toward the mountains surrounding the valley.

"These earthquakes come from underground fractures."

He pointed toward a large crack running across the valley floor.

"We seal the fracture."

The followers stared.

"With what?"

The disciple smiled.

"With cooperation."

Dozens of followers began moving stones from nearby cliffs.

Others gathered trees and soil.

Together they began filling the massive crack.

Every tremor tested their work.

But they kept building.

Far above them, Ang watched quietly.

Population: 124

Civilization Activity: High

"They're learning teamwork."

Hours later the earthquake frequency began decreasing.

Then finally…

The ground became still.

System Update

Region Stabilization Progress: 2 / 3

Ang nodded slowly.

"Two down."

The Southern Forest

The final region was the most dangerous.

The southern forest burned with chaotic energy storms.

Trees glowed with unstable power.

Animals had mutated into aggressive creatures.

One follower stepped back nervously.

"This place is cursed."

The disciple leading them shook his head.

"No."

"This place is wounded."

Suddenly a creature lunged from the glowing forest.

It looked like a wolf made of burning energy.

The followers panicked.

But the disciple stepped forward calmly.

He raised his hand.

Creation energy burst outward.

The creature froze.

Its chaotic energy slowly calmed.

The burning glow faded.

The wolf creature slowly lowered its head.

"It was not evil," the disciple said.

"It was unstable."

The followers slowly realized something.

The forest itself was sick.

Together they began releasing Creation energy across the forest.

Slowly the glowing trees returned to normal.

The violent energy storms faded.

System Notification Appeared.

Region Stabilization Progress: 3 / 3

High above the world, Ang sat upright.

"Well… that was quick."

He opened the civilization panel.

Planetary Stability: 74%

Ang laughed softly.

"First day and they already stabilized the planet."

The system displayed another message.

Trial Progress Update

Civilization Stability Requirement Achieved

Next Requirement: Population Expansion

Ang leaned back.

"Now comes the difficult part."

Far beneath the ocean, the Leviathan opened one glowing eye.

It had felt the changes across the planet.

The storms had weakened.

The fractures had healed.

The chaotic forests had calmed.

For the first time since awakening, the Leviathan remained silent.

Life… stabilizing planet.

Above the world, Ang noticed the creature watching.

"Well?"

"Impressed?"

The Leviathan slowly sank deeper into the dark ocean.

But its eyes never closed.

The trial was far from over.
